Fun and Delicious experience! It's a small space but when you go in you grab your bowl and start piling on all your favorites. They charge by the pound of ingredients you choose, with a minimum of 1lb/$14.99. Since it was my first time there I wasn't sure where to start but I definitely wanted cabbage and shrimp. All the ingredients that were laid out were fresh and crisp. I got quite a bit of ingredients and handed it over to the extremely kind workers in the front. They were so sweet!! My bowl was about 24.99 and was worth every penny. The broth was rich and delicious. The meats were grilled before cooking in the broth and added extra umami taste to our bowl. My shrimp was perfectly cooked and savory. A nice hot soup with a crispy coke was the perfect scene for our group get together.

Have you ever thought about trying something new for lunch/dinner? I recently visited Tanghuo Kungfu Malatang, the delightful experience, along with that, makes me excited to share it. Malatang is not only a tasty dish but also fun because you can enjoy a warm soup filled with many ingredients. It is becoming popular because of many good reasons. Imagine the simple pleasure of enjoying a tasty bowl of soup that warms you and brings you joy.The broth at Tanghuo Kungfu Malatang has an amazing flavor. Because I wanted to be careful with the spiciness, I asked for a level 1 spice when I tried it. The taste, to my complete surprise, proved that It was not particularly hot; however, a truly good kick made me genuinely smile. The flavors mixed well together, making every sip of the broth enjoyable. It felt like a completely warm hug during every chilly moment. A number of people would likely enjoy the broth, as it has wonderful flavor that is not too strong. Even if spicy food is not usually something you eat, this is a great option. One of Tanghuo Kungfu Malatang's best features is that you can customize each bowl. The experience becomes more fun when ingredients are hand-picked. There is a selection of fresh vegetables, multiple seafood options, and flavorful noodles available. Each bowl can be prepared to individual preferences by any person. Want more mushrooms? Yes, add them! Prefer extra noodles? No problem! You can make something special and just for you by creating your personal bowl. This is quite a bit more than only a meal; it is an entire experience that permits anyone to be original and savor all things anyone loves to eat.

This build your own malatang place is super yummy. I got the soup which is a little peanuty--I do wish it was a little spicier--but would definitely return to try the dry version.I went close to closing on a Monday night so it wasn't too busy, and everything is self-service. You pick out all your ingredients then take your bowl to the counter and pay. They cook your food for you while you wait and let you know when it's ready.

Great place! Came here on a cold and wet Valentine's Day, pretty easy check out process, wish I knew how much it was per pound. I got the medium spice (2) it was good but I should've gotten a 1 if I wanted to taste my food at the end lol

I recently visited this cute malatang restaurant in Carrollton and had a great experience! This place has a truly special no-tipping policy. That is something unique for this place. Malatang comes in two styles. It can be made either with broth or stir-fried. We chose to try both to make a comparison, as every single one had its appeal. We picked spice level mild (#1) to know how hot it would be before we ordered something with more spice. The broth version offered ample flavor, large size, and wide-ranging comfort, differing from the stir-fried version, which featured both a satisfying wok-kissed aroma and a noticeably more intense flavor and even spicier even if we both asked for mild. I found that the amount of ingredient options was great, as there was enough variety to customize your bowl, but not too many choices, especially if you do not know much about malatang. Picking ingredients was easy because everything was clearly labeled.Because the service was both quick and efficient, the whole process was smooth. Overall, it is a great place for people trying malatang for the first time or those who already love it. I would certainly return at some point to sample a considerably hotter spice.

I like this place. I'm more of a texture person so I put in a lot of textured ingredients such as lotus root, wood eat, fried tofu, bamboo shoots and bean sprouts. Next time I'll order a serving of rice or noodles to eat with because the broth itself is a bit salty and spicy.

The broth here is incredible! It was rich and flavorful. They offer a solid selection of fresh ingredients at affordable prices. The veggies were fresh, which made a big difference. I tried the spicy mala soup at level 2 spice, and it was perfect for me. The food came out super fast, and the restaurant itself is clean and well-maintained. Overall, a great spot for a quick and satisfying meal. I'll definitely be back!

The soup was actually spicy and packed with flavor! They have a peanut free broth option for those who have a nut allergy, and their broth is also shellfish free. They require you to select out a minimum of a pound worth of toppings/ingredients (which I had no issue accomplishing). The service was excellent. There's plenty of seating inside, making this the perfect spot to catch up with a friend. I loved my experience here.

I really wanted to love this place but out of all the Malatang places that I tried in the area this is my least favorite. The Malatang itself was good with flavorful broth, but the other two dishes that I consider are also important were just meh. Especially the pork dish was a bit disappointing for both of my visits. The batter was dry and hard and it kept coming off of the meat. The mala xiang guo was also a bit dry. I would not not go back to this place if my friends wanted to, but just won't be my first choice for Malatang. The restaurant itself is very clean and well maintained and the service is great though!
