Tacos Y Mas - Lewisville

Ive been here many times before but I had some time and was craving birria. Great spot for plates and tacos, breakfast is very good as well. Stopped in for some Birria and barbacoa tacos actually left with al pastor too. I can't get enough of all the different salsa's La Beava is my favorite.

My wife and I came in on a Saturday late afternoon. This place looks like a chain with some Dallas Observer articles at some point for the original in Dallas. Straight forward menu with breakfast tacos, street tacos and also some combination plates. The thing that strikes me from the moment you walk in is the vast amount of sauces available. I imagine one could spend a few visits just working through those flavors. I ordered a taco plate that came with two crispy tacos, rice and beans. Not really anything special to report except that it was ok. The sauces I used were the mango habanero which is just what you might expect as it's a popular flavor all around town. The spicy peanut butter got me interested as it seemed to remind of a peanut sauce I had while visiting Peru called aji sauce, which was served with rotisserie chicken there. Signature Taco platter is $12.99 and probably an ok price these days. I've come to accept prices are just higher than they used to be just even a year ago. I'd peg it at $10.99 if I was saying what it was worth so not far off the pace. You can certainly put a hurt on yourself on the spicy end, and my wife tried the roja and verde and seemed to be just as advertised. Medium-level hot. She added it over her taco salad. The shell just looked slightly overcooked with that brown tint as a giveaway. She kind of just shrugged her shoulders when I asked her how it was and so I take it as a sign that it's just ok. Priced at $9.99 and probably what I'd have guessed if asked. It had all the things you'd expect, sour cream, guacamole and ground beef, cheese, tomatoes and beans.Ok to eat here, but I wouldn't make a special trip, even 10 minutes away from where we live is a stretch.

The worst street tacos I've ever had. What boggles my mind is how hard it is to mess street tacos up this badly. I'd go next door where they have good carne asada street tacos. I should've looked at the reviews first. All gringos here and way overpriced for the value. Island Shrimp Taco - Avoid at all costs. It's 3-4 tiny, way over cooked shrimp for just under $5 with tax. Presidente - Was okay... but def not worth the price.Carne Asada - Way over cooked and poor quality of meat.Biria Taco - They only put meat in the top and the body of the taco has a tiny piece cheese. Not good.Fried Cod Taco - Fish was so fried my wife got lockjaw from chewing it. Awful.Everything was awful...

Great street tacos soo yummy every time! Very authentic Mexican food and it's the best in the area (Street taco plate)

Maybe the worst food I've ever ordered in my life.How do you make quesadillas and street tacos so poorly.

Got 1 dozen each chicken and pork tamales from here. They were consistently inconsistent. The masa was super thick with some tamales that had very little meat in them. They were fairly bland in flavor. So, I feel like the money spent was a waste.

Queso was thinner than water, they put my tacos in corn after asking for flower, the meat was overly salted, chips were stale, etc. Just an awful experience for a place we loved month ago. Won't be back, sadly.

The la gringa and cowboy tacos and breakfast burrito were freakin awesome. Looks like a lot of bad reviews in the past but my experience was great. No issues with cleanliness either from what I could tell.

Found roach in my taco .. that should tell you a lot about the sanitation in this restaurant. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE !!

No one in the building speaks English. Order was wrong and they forgot the chips and queso.
