Ah, Sweetie Pie's Ribeyes--right on the square in little ol' Decatur, Texas. Landed here during a work trip, thinking this might be some small-town tease joint. I mean, come on, "Sweetie Pie's"? Had me recalling a very different type of establishment down in the bayou of Louisiana. But nope, wrong kind of sweetie pies. And honestly? Not a disappointment in sight.Rolled in with six of my fellow coworkers, and let me tell you, these lads know how to eat and drink. A proper posse for a place like this.Me? I went straight for the chicken fried ribeye. Let me paint you a picture: imagine a perfectly tender cut of ribeye, bathed in seasoned batter, and fried to golden perfection. Crispy on the outside, melt-in-your-mouth on the inside, with just the right kick of spice to keep you guessing. Paired it with mac and cheese so creamy it could've doubled as a bedtime lullaby and some broccoli steamed just enough to make you feel slightly better about your life choices. The vibes were as Texas as it gets. They've got a server belting out tunes here and there, a real touch of charm you don't see too often. And then Santa Claus himself strolls in. My mate Old Red, bless him, asks if he can sit on Santa's lap. Classic Red move--no shame in his game. The service? Top-notch. Food? Fantastic. Atmosphere? A perfect blend of small-town warmth and big-time personality. Sweetie Pie's Ribeyes isn't just a restaurant; it's an experience. A must-stop if you're ever in Decatur.Rating: 5 stars--because they earned every one.

This was the highlight of our trip to Texas! We were meeting a friend who lives in Burkbennet and this was a good halfway point between there and Dallas to meet. And it was very Texas! Decatur is a really cute small town, there wasn't much open on Sunday but I would leave time to walk around if visiting. The service was incredible, our drinks were consistently refilled without ever feeling intrusive. The menu is simple but I would love to be able to try more! I loved the flavored butter on my filet. The vegetables were very fresh, definitely not canned. I wish I had gotten the squash side, it looked amazing! The wedge salad is a very good size, most dishes come with 2 sides and a roll. I had the pecan pie that came with homemade whipped cream for dessert. This place would be a reason for me to go back to Texas! It was the only place we found that had actual soul to it (most of our time was spent in Dallas suburbs).

The most succulent, yes I used succulent ribeye I've had in a couple of years and so happy to have it in Decatur TX. This was our first time to Sweetie Pies and I could not have been more pleased! First the location of the restaurant is superb as I always enjoy peeping the courthouse, which is a spectacular 1800s piece of art. Sweetie Pies is a unique place with ranch/farm decor. As soon as we were seated hot rolls and butter were brought to the table AND not any hot rolls they were homemade sweet rolls. As soon as I pulled one apart and smelled it, it transformed me back to my childhood on our families ranch where my grandma made the best sweet hot rolls. I ordered the chicken with a side salad and yellow squash. Flipping FABULOUS!!! But THEN I made the mistake of taking a bit of my husband's ribeye. WOOOOOOO EEEEEEEE!!!! GET THE STEAK. The end

It really grieves me to deduct a star, but I was disappointed with the food this time around! The customer service is top of the line and the manager was even walking around greeting customers. But whomever was in the kitchen didn't have their act together. Here's the rub: the ribeye was great! Cooked just right. However, my wedges were burned so badly I had to scratch off the skin before I could even attempt to try to eat them. Also my chicken fingers were so tiny! I don't remember ever seeing chicken fingers that small before! They were skinny pieces too, not a lot of meat on them! If I remember right they charged $16 for this chicken finger plate and it was basically a kids meal. I wish I would've taken a picture to back up my word. Further, my daughter ordered the grilled salmon salad (which was on the lunch special menu!) and her salmon was COLD! How is it supposed to be a grilled salmon but it's cold. She wouldn't eat it. Waste of money for what I can only assume was frozen fish. Anyway, we ended up paying $87 for this meal which really didn't seem worth it. At least the rolls were amazing and fresh.

It had been a few years since our last visit, so we stopped in for dinner on a Saturday evening. The large restaurant was only half-full, yet there was a 20-minute wait. Once we were seated, the waitress took our drink and dinner order fairly quickly. I specifically asked for no tomatoes on my salad, yet there they were. My husband ordered his steak medium rare, but it came out medium well. The dinner rolls were great as always, so at least that part of dinner was good.

When we are on a road trip and go through Decatur it's a must stop to stop at Sweetie Pies. I must say I didn't eat at Buc-ees in Terrell, Tx. when we stop. So that should tell how much we look forward to eating here. After being seated we served complementary hot rolls with butter that was spreadable not cold that does not spread. So yummy! We always order the Smoked Ribeyes. They are so good & juicy. I ordered the single ribeye which was thick with sautéed mushrooms & yellow squash. The squash has a creamy cheese sauce that was amazing! I was looking forward to the apple pie but just too full. Valerie was our server and she was great! Two others stop by to see how everything tasted. I have read other reviews commenting that it is pricey. Everything has gone up thanks to Joe Biden. Here everything is homemade and worth it. Stop in and Enjoy

This place is a halfway spot from some of my family so we met here for lunch a few days before Thanksgiving. It's a cute cabin style restaurant that was able to quickly accommodate our group of 7. They started us out with fresh rolls and butter. They were so delicious and they are known for them. We got a variety of foods...chicken fried steak, chicken strips, lemon sole, ribeye chili, and all the sides. Everyone liked the food especially the chicken fried steak and the chili. Our server was sweet and attentive. Definitely a cute place in a small town and I would definitely return if in the area again!

My wife and I stopped by on a mid March Friday afternoon for lunch. We saw people coming and going and, based on reviews, decided to stop in. We are glad we did. They are known for their ribeyes, and the sandwich did not disappoint. The hamburger on the hand was simply okay. They serve rolls prior to your food arriving, and they are incredible.I had the Texas potato wedges, which were different. You only get 4 and I could only eat three. My wife got the Mac and cheese, which was ...eh.Would come back? Hell yeah. It's owners also own Babes Chicken so it's good.
