Stumpy's Lakeside Grill

No sure if it's me, or Stumpys, but I enjoyed my food more the past few times I was here. What did I have? The fish tacos, grilled. Very tasty, and the zesty slaw on top very good. So Stumpy's is still an order at the counter, grab a vibratory, pick up your food when vibrates. Works for me. Free tortilla chips, and salsa, are still available. Stumpy's also has a full bar, and a cold Shiner went well with my tacos. Indoor and outdoor places to sit. And the lake views are great no matter where you sit.

Upon walking in there was a very long line that appeared to but the line to get in. There was also a sign that said "first time here? Tell us" but no one there to tell. After figuring out that the line is in fact how you order, we waited for about 15 minutes before making it to the front. We ordered the po boy and Philly cheesesteak and were asked if we wanted it with "everything on it" in which we said yes. After getting the food, there was in fact nothing on it besides the bread and meat, for both. Turns out there was a salad bar that had lettuce ( not shredded ) and tomato to add, but that still leaves me confused why she asked if we want " everything on it" The pi boy shrimp tasted dirty and the Philly cheesesteak was dry. I also want to add the po boy stated it comes with a pickle slice, and mine did not. Sitting outside on the lake during the sunset was beautiful and peaceful. There were also big fans that had the air circulating so at no point did it feel too hot.

THIS IS FOR THE SWEET SHACK... HORRIBLE RUDE SERVICE!We ALWAYS eat at Stumpy's when in town. We love the food and cocktails.After lunch went to get cupcakes at the Sweet Shack. The gal working was SO incredibly rude! We started telling her our order and she was putting it in a bag... we asked if we could please get them in a box because we were getting 4 of them. You would have thought it was the end of the world.... she gave a dirty look, rolling her eyes. My friend apologized and she had zero response, just more dirty looks. We LOVE the cupcakes but with that kind of service would rather spend our money somewhere else that we don't feel like we are putting someone out for doing their job.

Holy mackerel the size of this salad was crazy big! It also was perfectly balanced with the right amount of sweet, tart, and salty. I would love to stop by here again when visiting Granbury. The restaurant was a little empty which made me sad because the food was so good. The location was right next to the docks, as it says in its name, so my husband and I walked around right after. i suggest you visit.

There's really nothing to complain about, the atmosphere is OK and the service is OK. The food is pretty regular, nothing special but if you're a foodie, you'll like it.

Stumpy's is a Lake Granbury favorite apparently.  Best known for its outdoor seating by the water and boat access by the locals.  It's a small town lakeside store, counter service restaurant, ice cream parlor, and bar all rolled into one.  It's certainly kid friendly which keeps it locked in the very casual category.  Nothing fancy here as there is food all over the place from the little ones dropping it on the floor/deck and kids* running around everywhere.  So not a good date night or hang out and have a conversation kinda place.  But if you wanna roll in in your bathing suit, ball cap, and flip flops  - you'll fit right in here.The bar has massive cold frosty mugs for serving a variety of beers or margaritas.  They have a small selection on tap and the margs are made for fast order (pre-mixed with bottle pump flavors) - so don't expect a craft cocktail here.  I opted for the grilled fish tacos.  They were actually decent to my surprise.  The coleslaw tasted fresh and they had some slim sliced spicy jalapenos to top them off which was a nice touch.  While I didn't try it, the fried fish and shrimp baskets my mom got looked good, but it was just too much fried stuff for me. The thing that turned me off was the fact there were no signs about not feeding the water fowl and fish.  They have no respect for the marine life there.  People were just tossing fried food to them and the staff was even sweeping the scraps of fallen food into the water.  You would think being part of the ecosystem there they would be more considerate of sharing the space.  Maybe with all the profits they could provide healthy food options for these creatures for the guests to feed and that could be a draw to come there.  But no - they are literally endangering these creatures by feeding them this stuff.  This was a big turn off for me and dropped my stars from 3 to 2.

Stumpy' is consistently good comfort food on the lake. The tacos are always spot-on good. I like the brisket tacos when available and the El Pollo Loco are always good as well. Free self serve chips and fire roasted salsa is great. Sitting by the lake when the weather is nice is a great perk. The bar area is nice and lively as well. And the staff rocks. They're always on top of taking away empty baskets and trash and keep the tables clean and quickly turned. You really can't go wrong with anything here!

Stumpy's Lakeside Grill: A Five-Star Gem by the LakeI am a seasoned foodie and can honestly say that Stumpy's Lakeside Grill is top-notch! This restaurant is located by the waters of Lake Granbury. It's a delightful culinary experience that keeps attracting us back for lunch and dinner. The food and the lake view at this place never disappoint; this is no exaggeration.First things first; let us talk about burgers. These are not your typical shapeless pieces of meat but rather juicy works of art that come with your choice of toppings from their burger bar. Fries are always golden and crispy but perfectly soft in the middle. Furthermore, their fresh, warm, self-serve tortilla chips - made complete with two salsa options are a nice bonus. In my opinion, the addition of queso to their menu would undoubtedly shoot this place into legendary status!Dining at Stumpy's involves the use of all senses. Our favorite tables are located outside where we can view geese and ducks glide across the lake's surface amid its astounding beauty. My daughter also loves feeding them and asks to go see the "quack-quack ducks" all the time.After dining here, you must visit the sweet shop. What I can tell you is that there is nothing like their homemade cupcakes or cookies- they taste so good! Also, make sure to check out the front area that has a gift shop. Our daughter has picked out a cute stuffed animal on several occasions. These are the small things that make this place extra special.One small piece of advice though; it gets crowded at times so whenever possible ensure to arrive early or on weekdays before 5 PM. Planning is advisable given the experience one gets at Stumpy's if visiting during popular hours or on the weekend.Their staff has always been nice each time we go which adds more to the friendly feeling that welcomes everyone who enters Stumpy's.We stumbled upon Stumpy's while looking for a place to eat using Yelp and since then it has been one of our favorite places in Granbury. This is a five-star paradise situated by the lake offering scrumptious meals, top-quality service, and amazing scenery. Make sure not to miss out on this delightful dining experience!Yum!!!

We ate here last Sunday and the food was so good plus you get free chips and two different salsas to choose from . I ordered the friend catfish and shrimp and was seasoned so good . Staff very friendly and we're keeping trash and empty food containers picked up . We sat out by the water and watched the fish and feed the geese and fish . I recommend this place for a enjoyable meal
