Steph & D by far make the best Donuts in GP. I would put them up against any other shop in DFW. Even though their glazed donut melt in your mouth. I have to admit my favorite are the apple fritters.

I go here from time to time on my morning commute and I'm disappointed with the food every time. It's a Korean owned donut shop and it's sad that they just don't have it figured out. I don't know how resistant the owners are to change but I wish they would do some research and eat at other places like Polo Donut and see if there's any way they can improve their own product. Surely there's a way to improve or change the recipe for their dough. The pigs in a blanket have this dry, hard, chalky bread and the sausage always falls out because the bread is just wrong for it. They also heat them up WAY too much. Every time. The donuts are also dry and just have a bad mouth feel to them. Not that almost gooey soft dough you expect from a Korean donut shop. I've been to lots and lots of Korean owned donut shops and they're all consistent. You know exactly what to expect. Unfortunately Southern Maid Donuts very much stands out as being a completely different product and by far the worst. It's really disappointing because the people who work there are always very kind and the service is fast with fair prices. It's good enough for some calories to get your day started, but I think it's a shame that that's all you can expect to get out of their donuts.

It looks sketch from the outside but the donuts are soo good, especially when they're fresh and hot. Reminds me of southern maid back home in Shreveport. The donuts are five but the four is for the building and the underwhelming display upon entering. But don't let it turn you off as it did me on my first visit because I didn't know how good they tasted.

PSA: THESE ARE NOT SOUTHERNMAID DONUTS I repeat .... these are not SOUTHERNMAID DONUTS.Okay so that being said, the service is nice, and they were not afraid to tell me that these weren't southern maid donuts, even though I figured it out when I didn't see the logo on the inside of the store. I drove a long way to get these, so I'll probably never come back. The donuts, we basic! They were just donuts, don't go out of your way to get here. Your better off driving to LA. for the real deal.

I've been going to Southern Maid Donut for all of my 25 years. I have very fond memories of eating here as a child, and I will continue doing so! The family that runs the place are all very nice and always have a smile on their faces.

I've only stopped in this place once, and I will not go again. Sorry, but I was not impressed at all. My donut holes tasted a day old, they could NOT have been fresh. And my pigs in a blanket was by far the worst I've eaten. They could have been old too. They just didn't taste good and soft like I've had at other places. Maybe that's the way they are supposed to taste, I'm unsure. But I've had MUCH better food from other doughnut places.

If I could give negative stars I would. I went in to get donuts and they only had glazed left. It was before 10 am. Come on. Anyway I got a couple of glazed and a pig in blanket and a few donut holes. I took a bite of the holes and they were awful. They tasted days old. Gross. I took a bite of the glazed and they also tasted terrible. Everything was old! Obviously they don't make fresh items, what little they did have seemed like it was leftovers. BTW, this was a Saturday. Shame. Don't eat here.
