Great service, great drinks. Food is pretty good as well! The turkey was delicious and I love the homemade BBQ sauce. Not the best BBQ I have had but not the worst either! Definitely worth a try.

It's been a long time since we've come here, only because I'm not a huge BBQ fan (I know! It's a sin to live in TX and not love BBQ) - I don't hate it, it's because my husband makes a lot of it at home and it's hard to find good places once you start making it yourself. The service here was really great and the place still looks the same; could use a little refreshing up, but overall in better condition than expected; the bathroom could be tended to a little better. Tonight we ordered the Trashcan sampler that came with a little bit of everything and 4 shareable sides. It was right around $100 and it was plenty of food. I loved the smoked chicken, ribs were good but everyone liked the brisket and sausages, particularly the black pepper sausage. Sides were good also, but the Texas Spicy beans were not it today, they were just plain to me and savory rice was good but had been better in the past but over all it's not bad BBQ for the price.

Visiting from Nevada. Arrived at 8pm on a Friday night. The place wasn't busy, so there was no wait. The host was super nice and greeted us with a smile. The restaurant is inside of a barn. Decore: fireplace, deer mounts, boots, and bears. Plenty of seating: tables and booths. We ordered the Trash can to share, along with jalapeño poppers, burnt ends, and a baked potato. We spent a little over $155 plus tip. The trash can gives you an options of several different meats and sides. The food was decent. The fries were a little cold. The brisket lacked flavor and chicken was dry. From eating at different barbecue restaurants this week we came to the conclusion that, this place isn't the best place to get barbecue, but it is open until 10pm.

Had great service tonight from John. As usual the food comes out at perfect temperature and full of flavor and very good sized portions. I always get the 3 meat plate with a salad for the side so I can eat the salad there as well as a little bit of the meat, but most of the meat goes home with me and will be leftovers for 1-2 meals. They are also always happy to provide you with more bread to go as well.

We stumbled upon this beautiful gem and could not have left happier. Every bite we took was deliciously flavored. The meats were juicy and tender, the spicy beans were just perfect, and the coleslaw was just simply done right!! We also enjoyed the catfish basket and the burnt bacon ends (not pictured) because we inhaled them so fast. Oh, and the mall started with the most delicious warm bread. Took home banana pudding that was also just right. We had a cozy booth in the bar, our server Angel was exceptional and friendly. If we weren't here just visiting, this would be our one a week date night choice!!!Job well done to the entire team there!

Server was not very attentive & the food came out cold. The chicken was cold , beef brisket was cold and dry. Ribs were dry & not very meaty. Mashed potatoes came out with NO gravy, & the waitress didn't even ask us if we wanted gravy on it. Then she said they only had "cream gravy"? Not Country Gravy? No beef/brown gravy in a place that specializes in beef? By the time she brought the cold gravy we were done with our meal! Corn on the cob was old dry, like it was sitting out too long. We weren't offered a refill on soft drinks.No offers of more bread , which has gone down in quality. We used to frequent Shady Oaks , but now we don't, because the quality has gone down. They should change their name to "Shabby Oaks". Why does it take a long time to get a meal in so many restaurants, & the food comes out very cold?

Stopped in to get 6 orders of their bacon burnt end and 6 sides of their spicy beans. The burnt ends were to include 6 pieces each order. The spicy beans came in your average small takeout condiment container. When we drove the 20 minutes back to our house and opened our meal we had a total of 22 pieces of the burnt ends rather than the 36 that should have been included in the order we paid for. Each spicy bean container wasn't even 3/4 full. It amounted to 3 small spoonfuls each container. Doing the right thing we emailed them and 10 days later we still haven't received a response. We are very disappointed in the customer service and their lack of response to our request for a partial refund if the $90 we spent on our meal.
