For our go-to order:UPSIDES-- Pepperoni pizza was rich, flavorful, but slightly salty for my taste. Even so, I'd order it again.-- Meatballs marinara, whipped ricotta, parmesan, focaccia were very tasty.-- Ample, convenient parking in a large lot.DOWNSIDES-- We ordered the meatballs with extra sauce, but arrived home without it. The picture we took for this review wasn't what we bought. Instead, it shows Raos sauce, which we had to add, along with cheese. San Daniele's sauce was very good, but just not enough of it when you consider we asked for extra sauce, and would pay for it.-- We were surprised to discover a $14 tip on the bill. Since we consider a tip for service -- not for a to-go order -- we were disappointed.OVERALLThe downsides left us with a bad taste for the service, but good taste for the food.

Casual ambiance, mid level Italian food. A level up from Olive Garden for sure but not like "off the boat" Italian. They're pizzas are 10/10 though! Also, they're burrata appetizer is to die for! Solid option for Italian if you're in the area!

We really enjoy this restaurant. The Brussel Sprouts appetizer, Pepperoni Pizza and Grilled Cheese Sandwich is our standard order and we split all of it. Have tried many of the pasta dishes too. They're all excellent.

First time here for brunch and it would have been 5 stars if service was quicker. Met a friend and we sat at a bar booth. Both of us had espresso martinis - always good! (Thursday is Martini night as well so we'll be back). I'd heard the avocado toast was good and I wasn't let down.

5 stars for this place??? Come on, I almost gave it 2 but decided to be nice and landed on 3. So here's how it went down:We show up on a Friday night, ready for what we hoped would be an epic dinner. But right away, the two hostesses seemed like they were fresh out of Clueless 101. There's this sign above them that says "Short Rib Ravioli" with "Lasagna" indented underneath it. Naturally, I asked the obvious question: "Is it 1 or 2 separate entrées?" You know, like, are we talking about raviolis in a lasagna, or two separate dishes? The one gal looks at me and says, "Yes." Helpful, right?Given that it's SUPER LOUD in there, I thought maybe she misunderstood me. So, like a fool, I asked again--and guess what? Got the same answer. Brilliant. At that point, I gave up, handed over my cell number to be notified when our table was ready, and headed to the bar. Now, the bar... oh boy. It's a whole other level of chaos. The sweaty bartender eventually took our order after we practically had to scream it at him over the noise. My martini? Only 2/3 full and tasted like watered-down regret--for $10. About 15 minutes later, I get a text: "You have reached the front of the waitlist at San Daniele Eatery and Bar, please head over to the restaurant..." So, does that mean our table is ready or...? We weren't sure if we were supposed to wait for a "your table is ready" text or go to the hostess stand, so I decided to just check in with them.Turns out the table was ready, but when I tried to politely suggest that their texts are a bit confusing, the hostesses just stared at me like I was speaking Klingon. Luckily, another gal--maybe a manager?--acknowledged the confusion and said they'd change the text (which I 1000% do NOT believe).Meanwhile, my man is paying the bar tab, and we get seated at a table for four... but only two chairs and two sets of silverware, even though we were on the waitlist for three. We ended up scavenging a chair and a place setting from another table like we were on some sort of scavenger hunt.Hubby and our friend order a beer each and then had to flag down our waiter 10 minutes later to ask what happened to them. Hubby and I decided to split a Caesar salad and lasagna, making it clear we wanted them to come out together. Naturally, they bring out the salad first. Then the lasagna arrives, and it's barely warm. Seriously, this place was beyond frustrating. The final kick in the teeth. The bill comes on an electronic pad and the preset choices for tip START at 20%, then 25% and 30% - with 25% being highlighted. COME ON NOW!! - start it at 17% might be reasonable. Of course they have the "select another amount" button, but to start at 20% for this place is insult to injury.I was so excited to try it, but it ended up being a total letdown. I do NOT recommend it. Save yourself the headache. I am still on the hunt for delish Italian near Irving.

I love seafood pasta so was glad it was served here as well. Unlike other places, this wasn't made with red sauce. Instead it was made in a yellow creole cream sauce. Wife got the fig pizza without spek, which was also delicious. The only critique she had was that the sweet wasn't balanced well with the savory. Possibly because we didn't order the spek - we don't eat pork. Service was stellar. Our server was kind and checked in on us periodically without being incessant.

We heard this place was developed by the same people who created J. Macklins and knew we had to try it since we love J's so much! The exterior of the building is super cute and the inside didn't disappoint. Very clean aesthetic with lots of seating options. Our waitress was incredibly kind and helpful with our group of 6 who needed to split a check 3 ways and accommodate a few food allergies. Now on to the food, it was so incredibly good! We had the fried artichoke special which wasn't everyone's cup of tea but I absolutely loved it! We also got a cheese dip that came with a toasted bread for dipping which I enjoyed but when we got the focaccia and dipped that in it put that cheese dip on a whole other level! I highly recommend this dip and ordering one of the other dishes that include bread or maybe the owners should consider allowing a choice of dipping bread because I'm not joking it completely changed my opinion of the dip. Finally was the chicken Parmesan which was a huge serving! Everyone was like, no way she'll finish that but it was so good I had to! The sauce was flavorful, chicken cooked well and cheese melted to perfection. Highly recommend this place and I hope it survives in a location that has been rotating different restaurants the past few years.
