Sam's Pizza & Pasta

We love coming to Sam's. It's the best casual delicious dining spot in Cedar Hill. Great service, amazing food. The stuffed veggie pizza is to die for!!!!

A fast-casual style concept with counter ordering and food brought out to your table. Drink stations are serve yourself and a complimentary bread basket is brought out before your meal is served.My buddy and I shared both a pizza and a chicken parmesan dinner plate. The meat lovers pizza served thin crust style was a bit too crispy and had an unusual ingredient (could not figure out what it was, but it was off-putting) in their rich sauce. The chicken parmesan was very thinly pounded and served with spaghetti.It was a serviceable meal, but nothing I'd be rushing back to try again.

This used to be one of my favorite pizza spots! I'll admit. It's been a little while since I've been. They've extended the dining area so it's pretty roomy now. I've been maybe once or twice since the expansion. Same people, same atmosphere. I like the old pizzeria feel. Service here has always been order and go which is fine by me. Nothing rude, just get your food and go :)We ordered pepperoni pizza. I'm not sure but it seems as though they've changed something. It didn't look or taste like it used to. It was still good but they've definitely changed the pizza. I'm not a big fan of it. Maybe I need to come back and get another pie to be sure. I will say this, the pizza seemed like it was stuffed in the wrong box and it was cut really funky. Little sloppy. My husband thought it was pretty shady. I'll try it again next time.

This review covers two visits, both regarding online orders.Food: The pizza is good. Your fairly standard New York style pizza. I had an entire supreme pie and two slices of sausage previously. Pasta dishes are decent but nothing mind blowing. I haven't had a chance to try their sandwiches (for a reason).Service: Fairly typical service. Nothing to write home about. I will say both online orders I've made, they've gotten something wrong. First time, they got my pasta dish wrong but given the distance (Desoto - Cedar Hill), my fiancé and I just ate it. Second time, I ordered a chicken parm sub and got a chicken parm pasta. Still good but not what I ordered. Ambiance: The interior of the place is very homey and has that pizzeria-esque feel. The place sits right in Cedar Hill historic area (?) which is a nice slow pace area. Overall, this place isn't bad but it could be better. There are other family owned pizza/pasta places that do taste better. Joe's in Arlington off Matlock is 5/5 for me so there's no bias against this type of food or place of business. There's just better! Will update this review in the future.

ugh, went for pizza and pasta...I dont know what they changed but the pizza was BLAH!! zero flavor even after I salted and added garlic powder added by me. It's a shame.

We really loved this place. Great location. Busy family friendly environment. Food was really good & decently priced. Staff was attentive & kind. Would return!

Found this place on yelp and wanted to come try it because at had the most reviews in the area by far. Place has been opens for many years and had a true New York style vibe to it which I liked and it was family owned and operated. Ordered whatever the cashier recommended to me. Pizza was good! But nothing out of this world & a little to greasy. I also tried the fettuccine Alfredo pasta and that wasn't good at all. However the staff was nice to us, and the pizza which was the main reason we came for was good! Towards the end a lady to seemed to be the owner said that all her desserts are homemade. They were also good but nothing out of this world. All together I was happy with Sam's pizzeria and would definitely come back if I was back in this area, I'm giving the food a 3/5 but finishing with a well deserved 4/5 because of the story on this place. I found this little gem several months ago in downtown Cedar Hill. It's been around quite awhile and is known for its New York style pizzas & pasta. Well, if you are linguine & red clam sauce lover, this is the place for you. I've had this dish all over DFW and this place is far and away the best I've had. The red clam sauce is heavenly and it's served piping hot. So, if linguine and clams is your thing, this is the only place you'll want to go! So Good!!!!!

Got take out. The pizza was pretty big but they don't cut it for you. I am sure if you ask they can! The pizza is NY style for sure - big floppy pieces not crispy! The Stromboli was packed with meat which was great. We got marinara sauce on the side which was yummy and the sauce on the pizza was light so would recommend getting extra on the side if you like it saucy.

Sam's Pizza feels like home. Pair that cozy atmosphere with top-tier pizza and delicious food, and you've got a winner. 10/10 -- I highly recommend it if you're looking for great food and a relaxed spot to catch up with friends or enjoy a family meal.
