Drink review only.Whew!!!!! This drink it top notch! It was spicy and strong, yet cold at the same time with the ice. We came in before a concert to get a drink, and this was the perfect drink! It gave a good buzz! It looked cool and there was a lil crunchy cricket that my boyfriend ate lol. Seriously, y'all need to pick this drink! The location is in deep ellum, which is a hot spot in Dallas! They are doing construction on the roads right now, but should only be temporary. This place is one of the coolest places in deep ellum! Everyone is underground cool, which is not me. But i love this place! I will continue to come here for drinks!

This was my second visit to Ruins. The first time for me was a major disappointment with both my food and our server. This time, my wife enjoyed her food, but like me, we were unable to get a refill of our water glasses. But we decided to give the restaurant a second chance by the urging from my wife. This was almost a complete repeat of my first visit. Here is why I will veto returning a third time. Ambiance is fine for esthetic looks. But was seated next to two tables of big groups who were either trying to yell over the piped in music or had calls on their cells where they used the speaker function to everyone could hear at yell back at the person on line. There was a question as to which server was assigned to our table, so we were ignored for 15 minutes before we could stop a third server and ask which server was ours. Once we were served, our server didn't reappear again except to drop off the bill, process payment and then leave with a quick thank you. My wife had the ADELITA'S QUESA and enjoyed her meal. I ordered the S.L.P. ENCHILADAS to try something that sounded good. My meal came out about 10 minutes after my wife's order while our server brought out the meals for the table next to us that had 8 customers. When my meal was served, the enchiladas were room temperature and the salsa verde was missing. Because we didn't see our server until she brought the bill, I couldn't point out the two flaws with my meal. I will probably never eat there again since the two times I've been there, my meal was sub par at best and the service person goes AWOL once the food is dropped off. Could be that we didn't order drinks other than water so no need to ask for another round.

I have been a frequent customer of Ruins for the past four years. Yesterday I took friends to dinner for great food in Deep Ellum. Unfortunately we arrived and the entire menu changed. The OG Crispy Chicken Tinga I've ordered time and time again is completely changed. Now, they only have a regular chicken taco. Their signature sauce gone, 90% of their menu gone. Everything we loved about this restaurant is gone. I'm sad to say the quality we enjoyed and the food we loved is gone.

The place is cool I'll give it that and for me the drinks were damn good! I'd dive into the painkiller numerous times. Service was good no complaints. The food has changed from most of the pics I see here. They only serve tacos now and around 6 sides beans, rice, the chip and queso, guac, salsa standard, plus a few others. Pastor was good, queso.... Anyone can heat white velveeta up so at least try and impress me. Chips were good. Drinking for sure, eat with the intention I'll be going somewhere else for dinner... yup.

I've been looking forward to eating at Ruins FOR A YEAR! I tried eating here three times, the first time I came here they told me the kitchen was closed, the second try they told me that the kitchen is closed till Thursdays. The third time I came and they had taken their vegan and vegetarian taco options off the menu. The server didn't even offer ab alternative option that the kitchen could put together. Two stars for the lack of effective communication menu change and kitchen being closed. The drinks and ambiance are both appeasing.

I came for the rum, and will return for the rum, delicious food, enticing aesthetic, and amazingly helpful staff. With only one available night for rum-tasting in Dallas, it quickly became clear that Ruins would be the place to go. I was not disappointed, The online rum list was indeed updated and just as wide and creative as promised. Additional bonus: half pours are available for the eager taster. Our table ordered four different entrees and everyone was thrilled with their meal. Staff were happy to make suggestions and also assisted with descriptions. The space is both dark and bright, with a large covered patio entrance area. Totally recommend a visit

The reviews on Yelp brought me to this place. The service was friendly and attentive. The Santa Muerte cocktail was just perfect. I'd happily order it again. The flautas were pretty good but the standout was the side of rice I ordered. It tasted homemade and like it was made with love. Really loved it. The Al pastor taco (not pictured) was ok and the birria quesadillas (El Precipicio) were good. I believe the birria here is made with goat instead of beef. The vibes inside are very different than any other Mexican restaurant. A lot of devil and Santa muerte art, hipster bar type of vibe. On a Thursday afternoon, it wasn't busy at all but I can see how this place would get busy in the evenings due to their events and bar service.

Coolest bar in Deep Ellum!! The art alone is enough to wow you, but the food and drinks are phenomenal as well. I highly recommend ordering a tequila-based cocktail, and even more so a mezcal. This is the place to go if you want mezcal cocktails. I went here for dinner and drinks, but the vibe inside is so otherworldly and interesting, I'll definitely come back for brunch and happy hour. However, if you're sensitive about art or religion, this might not be the place for you ;) My only critique is the service could've been a bit better. Despite wanting to order a lot of items, our waiter was extremely rushed the whole time and it felt like we were being pushed along. I would've loved to sit there and soak up the ambience and continue ordering drinks (they still had plenty of tables open, so I wasn't just being a Karen, I swear )

I love this place; the ambiance here is like no other. Their drinks are adventurous and excellent, if you go you have to try a mezcal cocktail, and do not skip the Dorilocos nachos. They are a must-try, and it's hard not to order two plates. Their mains are good as well, this spot is so underrated and more than a cocktail bar.

This place is great. The food and drinks are so inventive and delicious. Love the live music and eclectic service you get. I highly recommend this great place in Deep Ellum. I also highly recommend you get the El Diablito pork shank tacos. Dear man that was so filling and packed with flavor.
