Ronnies Catfish & More

Ronnie's is the neighborhood catfish spot bordering Stop Six and Poly. The food is consistently good, hot and awesome! I'm a three-piece fillet combo girl and they never fail to disappoint! The fish and fries are hot and crispy. The employees are always nice and the location is always clean. Will definitely go back!

Friday fun. We have driven by Ronnies Catfish for several years. Today we made a special effort to dive into their establishment to try some catfish. It is not a dine-in facility. Orders are taken at a small window after entering a hallway. You can stay inside or wait elsewhere. We elected to walk next door to the adjoining business "Ft. Worth Seafood". We did not clarify if the two businesses are only separated by a wall. The seafood portion has a seafood restaurant and seating. A fish market with other grocery selections. We decided to buy some boudin and sausage. Fifteen minutes later we walk back into Ronnie's and pick up our order. We both ordered 3 piece catfish platter, one crispy and the other regular. We drove back home to watch a movie and dine on the spicy fish, fried potatoes, jalapeño, pickles and Texas Toast. We enjoyed the meals. Would like to venture back and try the seafood restaurant side.

Found the best catfish in my neighborhood. I've been more times than I can count. I love Ronnie's! Fish is fresh every single time!

Have only had Ronnie's in Dallas and found this Ronnie's by chance and it is just as good. Great prices, good portions, and no complaints on service. The indoors is only made for takeout really so be prepared to take your food to go so ignore the ambiance.

Great food. I always come here for the catfish filets and fries and I am never disappointed. I'm going to the try the wings next time I stop by!

Hmmm.. well I'm not quite sure where to start from here. I've always heard good things about Ronnie's Catfish. It's suppose to be one of 'the best' catfish joints in Fort Worth. Well...Let me start by saying Ronnie's obviously DO NOT HAVE THE BEST CATFISH in Fort Worth. Well, when I arrived here I noticed a few things that I decided to look past for the experience. First things first, let me say that the staff was courteous and provided good customer service. They even brought my food out to the car when I decided to wait outside for my meal to be prepared (it's a pretty small restaurant and another customer was already waiting).While I waited to order, I started to think about some of the things I initially looked passed when I first walked in. Some being the dirt and grime...I felt like it was everywhere. Mainly the walls and the floors. I was actually looking for bugs as it was very hoooooottt in this restaurant and dirty. The dirt was beyond old school fish joints you go to in the hood with the hot fish, a lil dirt, and a fly here and there. Anywho, I also noticed there was no air. It was hoooooottt and funky in there. I dang near lost my appetite from the smell alone. As for the food, well it was just okay. Actually it wasn't. It was hot and fresh, but it tasted like it was cooked in old greese, it lacked flavor, and it tasted like a fish that I would've cooked when I first started learning to cook when I was younger. Oh and not to mention, it was somewhat crispy. The crisp was about as hard as you'd get if you put a panko coat on it. There was nothing special about it. So much so, that I was highly disappointed and decided to not visit here again. Maybe I went into the restaurant too optimistic and got hit with the hard truth when I actually ate the food. Overall, this restaurant gets 2.5 stars for the customer service and for the food being cooked to order, but for some reason I just couldn't bump that 2.5 up to a 3 star. I thought about it, but figured I didn't want to lie to yall. I just couldn't do that.

At first glance this restaurant has no curb appeal inside and/or out, you might question eating here at first. However, I must say I was pleasantly pleased with the food and the service. You have to order through a wall with a tiny window, but hey I get it. This restaurant is not in one of the best areas of Fort Worth so be mindful. As for the food itself, it was cooked to order and it was fresh and well seasoned. I ordered the catfish and I got an order of shrimp and both came with fries, toast, pickles/peppers. The catfish is real catfish, not Swai as some of these restaurants are using instead of. It was full of meat and flaky:. Breaded good with seasoning throughout. The shrimp was also good, but I could slightly taste some fishy/ocean water flavor. It wasn't overpowering flavor or anything like that so I was happy with it. I'll definitely go back to this place and try other items, I want to try the pork chop but they didn't have any so maybe next time. I do think they would benefit from making their own tarter sauce, instead of off brand tarter sauce packets. Other than that. I do recommend this place for a good piece of fish!

Good, real, catfish, strips instead of full fillets but taste amazing. Long wait but food was hot and fresh and worth it.

My first time eating at Ronnie's. Presentation was good. I asked for catfish to be cooked crispy. The fish was hot and I will be back.

Good food all around good service and it's black owned so definitely a plus no offense just nice to see black owned restaurants that are still hanging around
