R L's Blues Palace No 2

I was in the area with my friends at another event when my friend suggested we go to the Blue's Palace. This was the first time that I have ever been here. Just some key insights if you are a first timer. This is a BYOB spot. The parking lot gets full quickly so they use the space across the street. This is a cash only venue as well. The music is a live band playing the blues. They knew exactly how to bring people to the dance floor. I overall enjoyed myself.

This place is a diamond to a Mississippi girl who grew up listening to the blues. RLs is a classic juke joint to the point of making me homesick.

SO much fun! I love blues and this place delivers. The people were amazingly friendly too. All-around a great time. That said, there are definitely things I wish I had known before I went. RULES- Cash-only, $10 cover charge per person - BYOB. The bar menu is very limited. They've got most straight liquor and frozen margs, and that's about it. There's a liquor store next door if you forget to bring your own, but no mixed drinks or cocktails allowed (liquor only).- Bar is 25+. The crowd is on the older side but please don't let that stop you from coming. We're all young at heart here! GUIDELINES - Shady neighborhood, so be careful. A lot of the Dallas shootings tend to happen in Deep Ellum. Once you're in the bar, the atmosphere is totally different, but I wouldn't spend too much time outside - Bar doesn't open until 9 or so. I know what Yelp and Google say, but we showed up at opening and were told (very nicely) that they were closed, so we ended up waiting around for almost an hour. The band doesn't get going until 10 or later depending on the night. They do have a DJ going before the band, but for the best experience I'd recommend getting there around 10:30 or later

The atmosphere was just super, the music was excellent and the kind of grown folks sounds for a lot of us over 50 folks. Everyone was friendly and respectful of each other.

This place is sad, the chairs are filthy, the table cloths are filthy. It's bad. You would think as long as it's been there it would be a cleaner spot considering $15 a head and a setup with a bucket of ice and 2 cokes for $15 dollars. RL needs to shame of him self doing this to his faithful customers, but not so much anymore. I want be going back, I'm afraid I might catch something.

Great place to hang out. I love that it's an older crowd, BYOB and BYOF. Make sure to reserve a table ahead of time. It's free. I love the live band and additional stage acts. If you consider yourself a hen or a rooster, this place is for you.

Went to RL last night with my wife and had a great time. It's a BYOB place with live blues band. The band performed great with songs from the Gap Band to BB King. They also had a Prince impersonator who was awesome. The atmosphere is mostly over 50 crowd with a small amount of 30"s. Cover charge was $10 per person and worth it, like I said before it's byob and everyone had their own liquor, beer and food. RL himself performed and you would have thought he was BB King himself. The place love him, which I found out later he do a lot of community work. If you are ever in Dallas make sure you check out RL Blues Palace. You will not be disappointed!

Fast and friendly service. Great place. The band is awesome and the guys on the BBQ pits just outside the door makes it worth the trip. The cover was reasonable, but the table service since it's a BYOB was rather pricey. All in all, I enjoyed the venue and will definitely be back! Lotus, the bouncer, was pretty friendly also.

You cannot come to Dallas without visiting this place! I have been going here for almost 20 years. It's a mature crown where you bring your own hard liquor and they serve setups, (ice and juice). Also, you can bring some food!! I have had many birthdays celebrations here. Get here early if you can get a good table. Dancing is required. The band is fantastic.

Went here over the weekend with the gilrs we had a blastt..! So much fun nice environment and chilll . Thanks ladies had fun ... love the bluessss
