HUGE RAVE FOR SIDNEY AND R&R BARBECUE (aka "another restaurant review")Today, my beloved bride and I decided we would patronize the above name establishment once again.I arrived at the drive-through window at 1550 (that's 10 minutes until four for those readers who might not be familiar with military time). I was greeted by a lovely young lady by the name of Sidney. I proceeded to order our favorite culinary specialty, which is known as a "Bean Bowl."A bean bowl is a more-than-adequate container that holds a mixture of sliced sausage, chopped brisket, and pinto beans. I like to think of it as an MMM (that stands for "macho Manly meal." Then again, I might want to rethink that, because a lot of women love them too.Let's talk about the food; the brisket was smoky and tender as Texas brisket should be. The sausage was extremely flavorful and chopped just right, meaning that one slice is less than a mouthful, at least for me. And speaking of my mouth, mine has never wrapped its gums around more tasty pinto beans! They were tender, seasoned perfectly, and not overwhelmed by an army of jalapeños, like some barbecue places make them. And did I fail to mention that you can get onions, pickles, and barbecue sauce, added, or on the side with this dish? If I did fail to mention it, please allow me this opportunity to mention that you can get onions, pickles, and barbecue sauce added, or on the side with this dish! Now let's talk about Sidney: I am an old man, and having the pleasure to meet her, I saw a young lady who is kind, can multi-task, has a very professional and congenial manner with customers, and in short is the type of young woman whom I would have wanted my daughter to be if I had ever had one.The R&R Barbecue restaurant and Sidney are ROCK STARS! These folks can play on my team any day!In closing, I'm sure that you all have heard about the world-famous chef Gordon Ramsay. I have no doubt that some of his signature dishes, like beef Wellington, grilled scallops, and others, are quite tasty. But to quote an old bald-headed man from Morgan Mill,"As for me and my house, we will always prefer bean bowls."I hope that y'all have enjoyed reading this as much as I have enjoyed writing it. If you haven't already, give this restaurant a shout and ask for Sidney. You will not be disappointed!

Everything I have tried here is really good. Brisket, turkey, beans, all great. Service is fast but we always take out. Ambience is clean and organized.

Have heard that it's super good and reasonably priced. Some BBQ places are higher than an upscale steakhouse! R&R fits the bill!

Hmm, well, I was a bit disappointed in R&R BBQ. I had high hopes after hearing that the restaurant had won a best of bbq award. Maybe I went on an off day, but in my opinion, every day, any product should be at its best if serving it. While I'm not here to rate the other local BBQ favorite, neither live up to being truly "great" in my judgment. Was it edible? Yes. Was it gross? No. But was it dry? Yes, yes, and uh, yep. The three of us all had something different. Other than the sausage, nothing I tried was memorable. The ham tasted grilled instead of smoked, and the brisket, turkey, and ribs were extremely dry and didn't have much of a taste. And although the sausage was good, it wasn't anything special. The sauce was decent, as was their iced tea.On top of that, their menu is a little confusing. If you're going to offer two sides, show what sides are available for choices. I tried to order the fries, and they supposedly counted as two sides -- fries? That's one of the cheapest items a restaurant can serve! I ended up with their bland, watered down beans and almost as tasteless, potato salad--just nothing extraordinary about any of their food. I'm a bit of a BBQ junky and have tried my fair share of joints all across Texas and other parts of the US. I judge on taste, crust, smoke ring, dry or wet, fatty goodness, or just covered in fat, and if the sauce is necessary or not. I'm not rating it less than 4-stars because it was edible, and with the sauce, it was somewhat still enjoyable. And yes, I included the tea in the review. It amazes me how many restaurants can't figure out how to make good tea; R&R perfected it! So congrats on that! Will try again in the future to see if next time I have a different experience. Maybe a Texas Sweet Tea pie would be a good menu addition.

First time here. Ordered the Turkey and Jalapeño sausage two meat plate with Cole slaw and beans. The Cole Slaw was nothing I expected. Not good at all but that's the way it was made. Not a sweet but very vinegary with bell peppers. Did not like at all. The beans was very good. The Turkey was too dry to eat and the sausage was hard. I ate one bite of Turkey, one bite of sausage, one bite of slaw. Did eat all the beans. Left everything else as is. 13.00 dollars down the drain. The place was small and not much seating. I waited way too long for BBQ that was was cooked that morning. Just about 20 minutes. The inside was cold and clean. Just what you need on a hot Texas day.

Great find! This location didn't show up on Yelp on our search. We stopped because we saw a packed parking lot (was already past regular lunch time). Service was fast. Had jalapeno sausage, turkey and brisket. The meat was all great! Salad bar had many toppings. Only draw back was that fries counted as 2 sides and the serving wasn't very large. We aren't from the area but if we were we would definitely stop in often!

I gave this place a four-star because the barbecue is really good potato salad beans. The desert I would skip it they said they made it there banana pudding tasted like it came from a box cheaply made the cheesecake thing. It's better off in the trashcan the pecan pie go to Walmart get one premade and it will taste better.

Better BBQ than Hard Eight. Good service. Really like the salad bar. Sometimes you have to ask them to refill it. Food is good.

Visited this afternoon and so disappointed It started off with a lady at the counter basically telling me to hurry as she tapped her finger nails on the counter while I was looking at the Menu with no one behind me I may add . I Ordered and for a bbq place it took 15 min to get my order but what ever ...The food has gone down hill I wanted to try again after the last time it wasn't great but the Potato Salad tasted like out of the box from Walmart the brisket was just okay and the Loaded bake potato was dry. First let me say, I'm from California. I have heard about Texas BBQ forever. I have been living in San Antonio for the past 18 months. I tried many BBQ places but was never overly impressed. It tasted good but, it was NEVER hot. I prefer my meal to have protein that is more than body temperature! So, we are moving to Oklahoma.. and driving thru this little town, it's past lunch time we need a break! I just had the BEST brisket in Texas! Right here !! It was hot, juicy.. tasty!! It had great smoke, SO moist.. perfect! I sadly can't say I will ever be back but should I ever need to drive through this area again I will plan the trip with this location in mind!!
