Portillo’s

I tried the Italian beef and sausage sandwich with onion rings. I got the beef dipped and added the peppers. While the dipped beef made the sandwich a bit soggier than I prefer, the flavors were still great, and the peppers were definitely worth the add. The onion rings were solid too!Beyond the food, I really enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant. The service was quick and friendly!

Came in here for lunch and the staff was super welcoming! I ordered the beef + sausage combo and added hot peppers. I enjoyed the beef more than the sausage so I might just order that next time. The order ordered came with crispy Crinkle fries. Overall the food was very flavorful, looking forward to trying more from their menu.

I was going to give this two-stars due to the massive wait and limited seating. Yes I know this spot is legendary and new to the area.By an act of charity, I gave this review an extra star for their chocolate cake shake. Totally worth it

This place is nice! The staff was super friendly, and the food came out fast and hot. I got the Italian beef with hot peppers and a Chicago dog with onion rings. The beef was tender and a great size, and the hot dog was loaded with toppings. I'd heard a lot of great things about this spot, and I'm glad I finally got to try it. I'll definitely be back!

First time trying Portillo's and it was ok. Not the best chili dog I've had. Lacked some flavors. Not sure we'll be back for more. Just wanted to try it and we're good. The staff at the drive thru were nice though.

I was once again in the area so I stopped by for an Italian beef sandwich. When I walked in and they had a power outage and said it would be 20 minutes before they could serve food, so off I went to NFM ( the reason I was in the area). Came back and ordered what I order every time, and yes I mean decades (Chicago Guy) and ordered my hot beef, fries, and a coke. The service was quick and efficient (They have gotten their feet on the ground, finally). The dining area was clean and full of families enjoying the food and day! See you again soon.

Checked out this location while up in The Colony. Very spacious inside, plenty of seats and natural light! Wanted to try out a burger (having had their hot dogs previously) and was quite satisfied with the charcoal patty. We also ordered a small fry which was sufficient to share between two people. Definitely recommend!

We've been to Portillo's a few times and happened to be in the neighborhood, so we stopped in today. Glad to see that their Wednesday special was still going on. The regular $3.99 hot dog was only $1 when you purchase another sandwich. We ordered a hot dog along with an Italian Beef Sandwich. Of course, I had to have the hot peppers on the sandwich. They are marvelously pickled and spicy.We didn't have to wait very long but we passed the time looking at the displays around the dining room.We got the order to-go and headed for home. Both were still plenty warm when we arrived and divided them to share. The hot dog had good texture and just the right amount of condiments. The dill pickle spear was crisp and tasty.The Italian Beef was thinly sliced, tender and delicious. Didn't notice that we could have had extra gravy or gravy for dipping, though. It would have been nice if the guy had mentioned that when we ordered. It's been years since I had a French dip. Instead, he pushed the peppers (extra cost), French fries (more extra cost) and dessert (even more extra cost).Oh, well, our meals were very good and we'll be back.

Service was good, place was clean and inviting. Food was as the new generation says "mid"

Portillo's is a Chicago classic and has finally expanded down to the DFW area. It's quite a drive for me so I never got to come by but I had the perfect chance when I had to go to Scheels. This is a very big establishment with lots of outdoor seating and tons more seating indoors. They call you up to pick up your order using an overhead announcement speaker.I had already had lunch so I just got the beef hot dog with everything on it (Chicago hot dog). I actually really enjoyed it. It hits you with every flavor profile. Savoriness from the beef hot dog, tang and sweetness from the pickles and relish, as well as freshness from the tomato. All around a pretty solid hot dog. Sadly it's just too far from me so I probably won't have the chance to frequent here often.
