This restaurant operates with a self-service approach, thoughtfully placing everything you need in convenient locations for easy access. The ambiance was delightful and added to the overall experience. While I enjoyed my meal here, I personally prefer the nearby Yin Tang for its wider variety of menu options that suit my taste. That said, I really appreciated that this place is generous with their soup portions, unlike Yin Tang. The soup here was flavorful and satisfying! For spice lovers, I found their level 2 spice to be comfortably manageable, but if you're not used to spicy food, I'd recommend starting at a milder level. Overall, it's a great spot with a few standout features!

Perfect bowl of warmth for a blustery day.Mala obsession has infected many Asian countries, and this Korean mala soup shop is evidence of that globalization. Pixiu has a station of ingredients that are more suited for a Korean palette, charged by weight, served in a bubbling bowl of addictive southern Chinese mala (numb spicy) soup. You can pick how much you want to eat/spend and how spicy your soup is. Grab a bowl and fill it with your favorite veggies (My favorites are sweet napa cabbage and peppery crown daisy), tofu, fish balls, noodles, shrimp, rice cake, etc. Choose your meat when you bring your bowl to the counter.Even if I finish all the goodies inside, I always take the soup to go--it easily makes for another one or two meals if you just chuck it in a pot with more veggies, tofu, thin hotpot meat slices, and noodles!

The food was okay. I would say the food bar had lots of fresh options to choose from. Place was very clean and quite popular. We got the wide glass noodles and they were undercooked. The lettuce was also pretty undercooked and tasted raw/too crunchy. The soup base was pretty good. Didn't taste as authentic maybe because we got a medium spice level. We will try the highest spice level and see if that changes the soup taste.

Such a huge fan of this place! The restaurant is a bit small but there's definitely enough accomodations for customers and can even work around larger groups (tables put together). The restaurant is "all you can eat" where you grab yourself whatever and however many ingredients as you want, the cashier then weighs it and asks what broth you'd like and level of spice preferred. Everything was a seamless process and there is even a menu that illustrates the steps as you could go for the stir fry option or the noodle bowl. The bowl received was humongous, perfectly hot and well seasoned. Staff were super friendly and lovely to speak with. Definitely recommend and will be coming back in the near future!!

All of the different type of carb they had like rice cake, glass noodle, ramen and more all tasted great in the Mara hong. The mushroom tasted a little strong in the broth but it is better when stir fried. I recommend level 2 for the Mara hong since it's spicy but not too much. I also add in beef with mine but it was chewy. It's tasted better when stir fried. I really like all the veggie options and they were generous with portion. For the stir fried dish, they asked us to at least spend $20 for it by adding in more fillings. Level 3 spice level is super spicy for the stir fried so be warn.

It's priced per pound and there's a selection of veggies, noodles, rice cakes, etc. that you can choose from. Meat options are only beef and lamb, you don't really get much freedom to put in the amount you want. But they charge you by 100grams. There's a minimal weight so they'll ask you to put more in if needed. It's basically self-service, bus your own table kind of place. The broth was good, make sure to tell them you have peanut allergy since they use peanut in their sauce.

This place is honestly one of my favorite spots in DFW. Their malatang is amazing and their topping bar is always stocked with everything you need. It's always clean and the service is always welcoming. I come here all the time with my friends and boyfriend and it just never disappoints. My favorite is the broth version with level 2 spice. It's pretty spicy almost equivalent to a buldak ramen. The dry version is good too but spicer, so I always get level 1 instead. One bowl can feed two people if you really load up with toppings.5/5 stars for me

Try the stir fried version instead of soup version at Pixiu! I've been here many times, but just recently decided to give the stir friend version a try, and it's bomb!! A common rookie mistake I've noticed is ordering too much, so be sure to tread lightly at the food bar since it's all measured by weight. Another key tip is to opt for the 0.5 spicy level if you like spicy but not too much. 0.5 spicy here is comparable to the heat level of Xin ramen.

The environment of this restaurant was pretty clean and neat. The service was okay, not super nice. There is a station in the middle where you pick the ingredients you want. There is not hotpot meat but you can verbally ask for it when they weigh your food. The soup was flavorful but not the taste I like because I would prefer the Chinese hotpot soup version. My dad also ordered the sweet and sour pork. I did not really like it because it was super thick and chewy and very filling.

I love the concept of building your own bowl (price is by weight) and choosing whether you want stir fry or soup. The size level is very spicy from 1-5. A level 1 of the soup was perfect. The stir fry was 1.5 and it got a little too spicy, but still able to enjoy. Portions are super big, with it for the price. It was mostly self service but the staff were friendly. It's a small restaurant but very clean.
