Pillar is one of the exciting openings in bishop arts this season! We went for a double valentines date and thankfully ordered 1/2 the menu. The restaurant is dark, lively, with great music. Peter did an amazing job as our server answers all of our questions with honesty and had great opinions overall. As for the food we started off with the grilled leeks, hamachi & apple, onion rings, & Nashville oysters. The grilled leeks were a very surprising front runner and everyone's top 3 bites of the night. The Nashville oysters are so freshly fried with a perfect pickled relish it almost didn't even taste like a normal oyster. As for the mains we got the ribeye, fried chicken (which comes with the Parker house rolls & butter), agnolotti, and sides like Brussel sprouts, fondant potato's, and truffle fries. The ribeye with the bone marrow sauce was one of our favorite steaks so far in Dallas. The fried chicken is definitely a MUST. It is a 1/2 bird so it can easily feed 2 people so thankfully all 4 of us were able to get a bite. Funny enough the Parker house rolls that come with the chicken were all in the top 3 bites of the night as something about fresh bread & great butter will get me every time. Can't wait to come and try everything else we missed!

Peter, aren't you dreamy! Alluring brown eyes, flawless olive skin, pleasing brown locks.....ok Mickey. That's enough. Get to the food.....What a wonder! Timeless wall decor; like stepping back in time a little- historical figures blessing the walls! Great conversation starters! Peter was perfect. Made stellar recommendations and even allowed me to try a sample of my cocktail before I ordered it! ***YELPERS BEWARE**** the prices you see on here are inaccurate. Add $1-$5 to each item, cocktails included! The onion rings have a tempura batter, funnel cake style if you will, that wasn't too thick. I honestly prefer the panko/flour method. They paired well with the sauce, similar to remoulade. The fried chicken was fried perfectly. It ain't Popeyes folks! I believe it was marinated in curry! This entree is enough food for 2. Don't get cute, solo eater. You WON'T finish it! I was concerned about the breast being dry....probably the juiciest breast I've ever had! The cornbread brioche wasn't my fave (not a fan or cornbread or brioche lol) Everything needed a little salt....probably why my cholesterol is high. I wish there were more of the greens! Tender, flavorful!I probably won't be back; born and raised here and have visited this area a total of 10 times, but if someone asks where they should eat in Bishop Arts, I'll say, "Check out Pillar!"

Pillar takes elevated bistro cuisine to a new level. The menu highlights fresh, French-influenced, farm-to-table flavors served in a cozy yet lively environment. The restaurant exudes a vibrant and robust energy--you can truly feel the joy filling the room. Pillar is tucked in a cozy and easy-to-miss place right off Bishop St., but overlooking this rest around would be a mistake.S/O to Jeremy for truly making the night with his great service, recommendations, and energy!! Another reason I'll be adding this spot to my location.Highlights:Roasted Cauliflower with Cauliflower Kimchi: This dish shines with perfectly balanced savory and sour flavors. It's an excellent vegan and vegetarian option-- though it may not feel as substantial for those craving a heartier dish.Nashville Hot Fried Oysters: A must-order! These oysters put a unique pescatarian twist on a Southern classic. The tangy, spicy flavors transfer seamlessly to the fried oysters.Grilled Branzino: Expertly grilled to perfection. The flaky fish is paired with a lightly dressed fresh salad that makes for a delightful choice, especially for light eaters.Grilled Leeks: Simple yet perfectly executed, this dish highlights the kitchen's skill in elevating even the most humble ingredients.See the full review on Substack here: https://open.substack.com/pub/maggeatsworld/p/pillar-a-fresh-take-on-elevated-bistro?r=34znt1&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web&showWelcomeOnShare=false

If you're looking for a dining experience that combines innovative cocktails with a truly exceptional menu, Pillar in the Bishop Arts District is the place to go. From the moment we sat down, we were impressed by their extensive cocktail menu, including custom drink options that cater to all tastes. We started with the Lofty Idea, a perfect blend of fig and apple brandy, and it set the tone for an unforgettable evening. The appetizers were just as impressive. The Tuna Carpaccio, served over lump crab remoulade, was fresh and flavorful, while the crispy meat pies, filled with braised brisket and vegetables, were a perfect blend of savory and satisfying. For our entrees, we enjoyed the ribeye, seasoned to perfection and served with a rich beef bone jus, along with the burger, which featured brisket pastrami and a smoky paprika spread. But the standout dish for us was the decadent Pork Rib Cassoulet--comforting, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and we recommend making a reservation, as this spot is becoming a fast favorite in Dallas. Pillar is truly a gem in the Bishop Arts District, and we can't wait to return!

Food was delicious being well prepared and flavorful. I didn't think much of the vegetable gratin but the tuna burger was excellent. I would return and try the fried chicken.

This restaurant was very quaint and well decorated. We had reservations so we were promptly seated right after they greeted us. You walk in and the bar is just to the right, which is quite expansive. I started off with a cocktail which was very delicious. We ordered the ribeye and the agnolotti as entrees and both were delicious! I definitely wanted more bites of the agnolotti pasta and was regretting sharing it with my friend lol. This was probably one of the best pasta dishes I've had in a long time. It was well balanced and complemented the short rib quite nicely.

Awesome new restaurant in Bishop Arts! The service was fast, our server knowledgeable. The appetizers tuna tartare and beef carpaccio were delicious. The chef brought them to us and explained them. All of the drinks were delicious (especially the espresso martini). We loved the atmosphere with exposed brick and ornate wallpaper and photos. We will definitely be back for another meal.

Pillar was a fantastic dining experience! As a lover of their other restaurant, Mot Hai Ba, I had high expectations, and they did not disappoint! Every dish packed a ton of flavor. Although they have items that sound classic, each one had a fun unique twist! Like the beef tartare, but served on a hash brown...and the fried chicken with a curry twist! The restaurant is seasonal and soul satisfying. The wait staff is extremely passionate and attentive. My recs:Tuna CarpaccioBeef TartarNashville Hot OystersDay Boat ScallopsAgnolottiFried Chicken
