Pennywise Pub

I decided to walk the boardwalk and try the next restaurant. I heard they had fish and chips and needed to try. The halibut had a beer battered was thick and crispy. Lots of white flaky halibut. It is served on a bed of hand cut fries. The sides are coleslaw which was different and oh so yummy. And smashed peas. It's not my list of food I wish to eat so I couldn't taste it. I can't tell if the tartar sauce is made fresh but it looks like it and taste good. The ambience for the Texas game was a hit!

Honestly the staff here get a 5/5. I'd go back just because the waiter was so dang friendly. Food though, was average. That said, I was at a pub style restaurant and I ordered a salad. I sat outside and wasn't feeling fish and chips or a warm sandwich when it was soo warm out. (That was also my choice). The salad ingredients were fresh but my chicken had a couple pretty tough pieces of cartilage which deducted the score. The homemade croutons and unique and goat cheese amounts were super though. My drink was oddly disappointing and I hate saying that because it was beautiful and I wanted to love it. I think some people would! I'm a fan of original pisco sours though and this was just not the same, a little too sweet for me for this particular drink. That said, if you're a lavender or raspberry fan it did compliment the gin well and multiple strangers walking by commented on it looking good. It's near the Courtyard Dallas Flower Mound hotel and is a beautiful 5 minute walk along the river walk. Location gets an A plus. I'd try it again but order pub food. Will adjust review accordingly when I return!

My friend and I checked out this place on a Friday night. They had live music from 7 to 10 on the patio. I had never been to the Riverwalk and it was such a nice atmosphere. There's TVs in the patio for sports too. They have all day Monday through Friday specials on drinks - $6 Irish mules and green tea shots were what we ended up having. The place is connected to underdogs next-door. Inside they have a ton of arcade games for the family.We got the Reuben fries that were really good and fish and chips and the butter chicken. The fish and chips was great and I would order it again. The butter chicken I would've advertised more as a curry chicken. I barely ate much of it. Our server Peyton was really nice. At the end the all day special pricing got a bit confusing versus the happy hour pricing, but she was very accommodating and was able to help us figure it out.

Went here for Trivia and Whiskey Night and had a great time. It's got a great interior but limited food selection. The service was good but the space was crowded and only one server was on the floor. They did the best for how busy the restaurant was. 10/10 rss We'd commend the Monte Cristo.

The food is absolutely awful. I am trying to think of anything I can say is that positive about the fish and chips, the curry fries, or the monte cristo but I can only tell you that the food is just bad. I was hoping the service, drinks, and ambiance could make up for the inedible food but it does not. They are understaffed, the drinks are weak, they were out of all imported draft beers, and the crowd is decent on trivia night but it should be noted that the hard core trivia folks eat before they arrive. Sadly another failed restaurant in Flower Mound. Do yourself a favor and don't eat there. I fear I am going to be sick by the fair-food-like monte cristo that tasted like an over battered elephant ear from the fair with a slice of canadian bacon somewhere in the middle. My wife loves all seafood and could not finish the fried cod.

Great service! Didn't try the food but it did look really yummy. Loved the outdoor patio with live music. Fun spot to relax and enjoy with friends.

We went by with a big group. 6 families with children ranging from 2-12. The service was amazing! There were two young men waiting our table and they excelled at being patient, available, courteous. The restaurant was so flexible with us and the kids coming in and out to play while the adults were enjoying the football game! Drinks were cold and refreshing. Food was good. We ate mostly appetizers, pub fare, expectations were low but ended up being surprised. All in all, great place to visit with your family and friends!

This is a good spot for a drink. They have a great beer selection and the bartenders are really nice and helpful. They have a pool table and shuffleboard. The fish was really good, the fries weren't great. It's in a good location on the riverwalk. It won't be our favorite place, but it's worth going once in a while.

Went here for trivia night on a Wednesday, which was fun. Very nice-looking bar, though it lacks a bit in character for a pub. Does have darts, pool and shuffleboard which is a good touch. A few things I wish this place would improve upon though - 1) very limited food choices. British food is not good, so basing your menu on UK cuisine puts a place at a disadvantage. I had a burger, my wife had fish and chips. Burger was bad (funky sauce) and the F&C were OK. 2) You have a Smithwick's mirror on your bar, but you don't offer that particular beer. It's a good beer. Please add it to your offerings if at all possible. That's all for now.

Service was great. We had Rueben fries and the fish and chips. Food was good but ambiance was lacking.
