Panaderia El Sol

Unfortunately this Panadería went from a 5 star, to a common 2 star panadería.On my original review, I mentioned I had found the best panadería in the DFW area. To someone who grew up along the top pastry chefs in Mexico, I thought I had the winner.Somehow, they lost their baker, he quit, or retired.El Sol had the "premium" grade pan dulce (Mexican sweet bread), called "campechana", a flaky crust crispy bread that melts in your mouth. And people in Irving used to line up for their campechanas.I walked in, and to my surprise, the campechana tray was full, I thought, "so lucky of me" to find some in the afternoon. Before, campechanas would sell out like pancakes by 10 am.So I bought plenty of campechanas, 3 conchas, one pumpkin empanada, 2 pan de pan (bread pudding), and one "novia" (crispy concha that resembles a bride's dress).I was extremely disappointed, because I drove 30 miles to El Sol, to find that El Sol went from the best in town to an average, or below average panadería, SADLY I WILL LOOK FORWARD TO FINDING THE BEST, NOT EL SOL.

The best one around, coming from El Paso I know fresh pan dulce and this one is right on par! Many friends I have told keep going back. We go once a week.

Best sweet bread in the DFW area along with the tres leches cakes. We always go home with a big bag of bread and tres leches cake in a cup. Prices are low and the place is clean with great customer service.

Update: we've become regulars and the bakers/workers are so sweet and kind. It gets super busy and they work so fast to serve all the customers in a timely manner. They work hard at making sure to bring out fresh product when they are low or out of something. I absolutely love this place. A hidden gem for sure!

Panaderia El Sol, it's a good thing you are not a neighborhood joint for me, else I'd be in there every day of the week getting sweet treats to stuff my face.Everything is baked fresh and constantly replenished. Bread may taste good but the service is so bad leaves a bad taste in your mouth. The people here are so rude and pushy its ridiculous. They act like your there to serve them.

The service could definitely be better, all the women there apparently hate their job and don't even try to fake it. my worst experience to this day has been with Ceci. The bread isn't great, it's barely good. I would rather make a drive to other bakeries where I know my bread will be fresher and the people will at least fake a smile.

They make a wonderful dessert I discovered which is a small round cake filled with mango. I call it a mango cake as I don't know the correct name. I can't wait to visit again and have it. My husband is very familiar with the bakery and likes so many things too!

everytime i call to make an appointment for a cake order. I ask for English speaking person. the will transf me to English speaking person and without answering my questions. they will just hang up the calls. I called like 5 times and they did the same thing. I would not recommend this place. they are so unprofessional poor customer service.

I love this store me and my family always get it on Sundays it's the best ones and the Concha's are gonna be your new favorite thing to eat in the morning and you and your family are gonna LOVE it!
