Palmer's Hot Chicken

Absolutely loved their selection! The dark meat entree is HUGE. For some reason, I didn't think one would be enough but it's ginormous. Anyway, onto the positives! The batter is on the thicker side with a nice crunch. I personally felt like if I kept eating it, the fat would actually clog my blood vessels. So, unfortunately, I couldn't pig out all the way. However, the chicken itself is incredibly juicy and the best part imo. Nice n steamy goodness. Tots are just tots. They were great but ain't nothing particularly special abt them. I also really enjoyed the Mac n cheese! I felt like the taste was great but I'd prefer a thicker texture of the cheese. My bf got the chicken caesar wrap and said he really enjoyed how light and fresh it was. They didn't skimp out on the chicken at all. Ranch and fancy sauce complimented the wrap well. It was the perfect serving amount. All in all, we would highly recommend this place! The service was quick, easy, and simple. If you needed anything else, you could just walk up to the front and grab whatever you needed (to-go box, utensils, cups, etc). The vibe of the restaurant is very outdoorsy, family-friendly, and cozy.

Ate at this place tonight for the first time ordered the big white, it was not white. It was gray and dark and I'm sorry that I ate any of it! I am praying that I do not wake up with food poisoning like I just realized another review written yesterday did:(They are supposed to credit me for the meal, but just a waste of time and money and just gross!

TikTok did it again. There's an influencer by the name of Olivia Culver who was singing high praises about the Chicken Caesar salad wrap (and from the video it did look delicious) so I stopped by yesterday to try them. When you get into the parking lot you'll notice Palmer's is surrounded by a lot of new, trendy retail shops and food spots. It's really close to a grocery store & is only minutes from NorthPark, Greenville Ave etc so you could really make it an all day affair. What's cool is Palmer's has plenty of options for seating, catering to those who love a view and want to sit outside but also has plenty of room inside for those who prefer a more intimate feel. The decorations are modern but eye catching (and picture worthy lol) without being overstimulating.When it comes to the food.....deep sigh. I ordered the fried chicken caesar salad wrap w/regular fries. I would've ordered the cheese fries Olivia had in her video but because I ordered to go I opted out. Since I've never been to a hot chicken spot I also wanted to try and got their infamous Nashville hot chicken. In total I spent $22. When the order came out and I opened the boxes everything looked mouth watering good. However, I will say the wrap was over stuffed with lettuce & had the smallest amount of caesar dressing so overall was underwhelming and dry. Whenever you make a wrap of any sort you need something to serve as a binder (cheese, sauce etc) to keep it from falling apart, but as you'll see in my pics and videos there was none of that so it turned into a salad after two bites. It's just wild because not even two weeks ago I had a grilled chicken caesar wrap from AMC Mesquite, and was surprised at how good that was for theatre food, so imagine my surprise when I thought I was going to get something 10x better and it fell flat. Anyway I tried to let it go because I had also ordered the Nashville hot chicken & surely Palmer's would redeem themselves through their signature item, but I'm more than certain they were using old grease as that's all I could taste when I bit into it. I still tried to eat it as I don't like wasting food or money, but it just wasn't agreeing with me.The hard lesson I learned is sometimes what looks good can still be misleading & no two people have the same palate, but experiences like these are part of the process of trying new places to find the next best bite. What a great place for Gluten-Free catfish with a bite. You can get it as spicy as you like. I loved it. However, we made our order at the table, but it only allows you use Apple Pay so I had to still go to the counter to place the order. No biggie, only the price at the counter was different from the price at the table. Apparently they offered discounts on their app which they don't offer at the counter. After we got that corrected, we waited for our drinks. The first drink an Elijah Craig old-fashioned came and we waited for the others.. after a trip to the counter, we reminded them we had beer and wine as well. They apologized profusely. My husband's beer came out correctly, but my wine came out as a glass of red. Let him know that we had ordered a bottle. He apologize again and returned with a bottle of red, which we reminded him was supposed to be a bottle of Chardonnay. And all was very about it. The food came out on time everything was ordered and delicious.We like it so much that we have added this into our regular rotation and highly recommend it . It's pricey, cute atmosphere and good food. What else can you ask for?

HOLY BIG PORTIONS!! When they say Jumbo chicken tenders they aren't kidding. I would say the chicken tender meal probably could easily feed two adults. We ordered way too much food. The Nashville spice level is good here, unlike some Nashville hot is so spicy it's almost intolerable. They also have some good daily specials. Come check this place out!

I have mixed feelings. So the good. The catfish was very flavorful and full (not skinny pieces like most places) I liked that they had other sides other then typical fries. The Nashville hit was not hot not even a little. I felt like my cayenne pepper I sprinkle at home is hotter heck black pepper might have been hotter. I am hoping they made a mistake and accidentally put medium . My 5 year took one of mine and didn't feel a thing, so I know I'm not over exaggerating. I came for the collard greens the yelp pics brought me in there is nothing that says it has pork in it by oh well no biggie I atleast had another side option. Next thing was the corn for my husbands to go order and glad I checked it, it has Parmesan cheese on it. (I might love cheese but there are people in the world who hate it, my husband being one of those people)Now I understand if it said elote but typical corn on the cob is salt and butter how am I to assume that there is cheese . Although I pointed out that menu does not specify what's on they just looked at me like oh well as they rang me up for another corn on the cob. When it comes to customer service they should have just gave me another one. See this is why I don't like paying in advance for places and leaving a tip before I even know what I'm tipping for. Because once you have already paid for an order going above and beyond for customer service is an after thought. So, yea a bit disappointed. Would I be back hmmm not sure. Little gestures like these show me that their making $4 more on the $60-70 I spent is way more important then customer service.

The food was pretty tasty the service was good the ladies up front are working way too hard I hope they literally getting paid with their worth. I would like to come back here and sit down inside the restaurant at a later point probably when it's a little cooler outside. Seems to come from a rich history just by analyzing the stuff on the wall. I did a little research below for some interesting reading. This was interesting researching the person on the wall who is their patron saint of Nashville hot chicken Tennessee tastemaker James Thornton Prince was living proof. A legendary local lothario in early 20th-century Nashville, Prince possessed an appetite for fried chicken and the ladies. His passions have made him a legend in American culinary circles. Prince is the king of Nashville hot chicken.

Beautiful inside and cute concept with the inside/outside play area. I've tried Ricky's Hot chicken, Dave's Hot chicken, Hattie Bs, Luckys, etc. this was not it. Not sure where any of the flavor was but it was not at Palmers. How this place has a 4.3 rating is beyond me. Truthfully the only way I was able to eat the chicken tenders was bc of the ranch. Not even the special "fancy" sauce they make is good. Down to the banana pudding being tart. Would have loved for this place to be 5 stars but I cannot lie like others have. We ordered: Jumbo Tenders - Novice "heat level" (ranch, fancy sauce for dipping) Mac and cheese & Tots for sides. Absolutely no flavor whatsoever didn't taste like anything was on this tender. Motherclucker - Napalm "heat level" (ranch, fancy sauce for dipping) Mac and cheese for side. The heat was extremely intense for no reason was not worth the time it took to drive 5 mins to get there. Shrimp Popboy - Nashville "heat level" (ranch, fancy sauce for dipping) Grilled corn. I don't how you can go wrong with corn but ‍ it was not anything special. Big Daddy's Nanner Puddin'. Very disappointing tasted tart with every bite and not worth the cost for the tiniest scoop that they give you.

Not going to mince words here. This chicken is fantastic. I'd go back every day of the week if it was healthier and I lived close. Unfortunately, it's not the healthiest meal and I don't live close. When you enter, you wait in a line to order at the counter, and then take a number and sit down where they bring you your food.Tenders, wings, doesn't matter. It's worth your time. It's worth your commute. It's worth the calories. Go now, before you change your mind.

The chicken seas at salad wrap, was amazing!! The service was very friendly and the ambiance was nice. It was very welcoming and comfortable. The fries were very soft; the tots were also very delicious! Definitely coming back for this!
