Omi Korean Grill & Bar

The restaurant's lighting is quite bright compared to other KBBQ locations I've been to. The area that the restaurant in is beautiful and has lots of stores around the general area. The food is phenomenal!! My friends and I ALWAYS get the short rib and the other items were delicious, as well. The only thing that took down a star is the service from one particular employee. Funnily enough, this is the second time we had this particular server and he acted the same way as the first time. He literally RUNS away as soon as you ask for one singular item, or acts like you asking for a refill of Coke physically pains him. He rolls his eyes, sighs when you ask for more than one thing at a time, throws plates down of food items as he passes by, changes the grill without warning, and makes it extremely uncomfortable to ask for help. My friends and I were confused with the actions as we are understanding and don't ask for much outside of drink refills and requests for more sides/meats. The other servers are great and make our visit worth it. Again, just this one particular employee always makes for an interesting visit.

i have tried different omi locations in arlington and carrollton but i never had any issues til i went to this location in grand prairie! when the staff was changing the grills, i noticed how they aren't cleaned well and there is gunk between the holes. as the grill plate heated up, you could see it start to bubble in the areas with gunk. i asked them to change it which they did but then the same thing happened with the new grill. other than the grill, their thin meat is cut thicker than other kbbq places that i've tried and the only meat i enjoyed was the beef brisket. the staff was friendly and helpful but i would not return to this location due to the cleanliness issues.

Went here for lunch on a weekday, we were seated within a few minutes, they weren't busy when we arrived but it filled up soon after! This is a fairly new location, smaller but it is nice to have another KBBQ location in the area. The lunch price was $26 per person, not bad & is around the range we expected. The don't have as many options though (for lunch or dinner), besides basic meats you have a few spicy & garlic options. If you're looking for a variety of flavors, meat that has been marinating to get that yumminess... this may not be the best choice for you. Don't get me wrong, it was still good but more selections would have been nice. My bro said the squid was really good. I did like that the sausage was almost comparable to little smokie links, they weren't super salty either. I'd recommend the thin slices of pork belly, whatever their sauces were... sesame oil (I think) & some red sauce, were delicious. It had a bit of heat to it but that's what really added flavor.For me, the banchan is where they are winning. Every single one was delicious. Cucumbers, yes. Kimchi, yes - I don't even like kimchi but I ate theirs. Fish cakes, picked radish, potatoes, all good. I also like that they offer steamed eggs as a side, we didn't realize it until we were almost don't eating so we'll try it next time. Their friend dumplings are also really good, generous filling with a crispy outside, & not oily. And their rice, it's rice, but it's really good.Restaurant seemed clean, restrooms were clean & well maintained. They had a lot of soda cases piled along the walls in the hallway to the restroom, they weren't in the way but I don't know if everyone wants to see product like that lined against the wall. Staff was nice, quick, & attentive.I will return, glad to have them in GP!

My favorite Korean place! Closest to my mom's cooking! Always accommodating and the wait is never long. We've been here many times and with large parties. Friendly staff! Haven't been to the new location, but I heard there's karaoke rooms! Can't wait to get out there!

I arrived at Omi at around 3:45, to be told that they will not seat anybody who single after three. This seems to be a new policy because this is never been a problem before. But to drive all the way to Grand Prairie for your favorite Korean barbecue. When you just realize they reopened and to be all excited about the amazing food and then to be told now you can't be here, it was just amazing disappointed because there was a lot of empty tables and they could've accommodated me. The only thing I can say about being here in Asian Time Square is that there is so many other amazing restaurants here so I went to the Pearl instead. Guess I've gotta find a new Korean barbecue... Very sad. I like Omi

We went today to celebrate my birthday. When we arrived at 5PM there were tons of open tables, but we waited 20 minutes before we were finally seated. The waiter came by and took our drink order. The sodas came out flat, but we didn't mind that as fountain drinks are always unpredictable. We ordered the food and the meats came out. Our grill was not getting hot and nobody stopped by or answered our button call. After 7 minutes of TRYING to cook THIN cut pork belly one server finally cut it off and reignited it to get the flame going again. I had my 3 year old daughter sleeping on my lap at first and really struggled to reach everything and luckily I moved her to behind me because not even 2 minutes later they came to trade out our grill tray and flung extremely hot pork belly onto my thigh and shorts where my daughter's head just was. I squealed cause it was very hot. They apologized and offered me ice... that's all. We then asked for rice... after 10 minutes we asked a different server who then went and came back to tell us the rice was cooking. We got another server's attention after some more time and finally got some rice.We asked for a refill where our server took our cups and then came back to inform us that the soda machine was broken. I asked about the price since we were unable to get refills and he had to walk away to ask three different people before it was finally taken off. However, he only communicated that with us after we waited and finally had to press the button to ask for water.The rice cakes are served cold and hard and you grill them with no seasonings or sauce. The steamed egg was not covered well so it was basically egg soup. The dumplings came out lukewarm We waited 15 mins after our grill was turned off before pressing the button to ask for the check. The server took the card and disappeared and came back without it. We were confused and about 10 minutes later the front desk girl brought the card back and thanked us.Overall awful experience for our first time and we probably wouldn't go back.

We were a group of 10 and the service was bad. We had 1 waiter and he doesnt seem like he wants to be there, bad attitude, rude tone. The food was mediocre, we ordered a la cart and the price was not justified. A $400+ bill and I think 2 stars are what they deserved.

Second time coming to this location - first time I came, it was good. The food came out quickly and the ventilation was better than the last location. Unfortunately, the second time we came, we didn't get to experience it due to the hostess who was working the front. I told her we had 8 people and she looks at me and goes "we don't have any tables". I asked her how long the wait is (this was at 7:45pm and the closing time is 10:00pm), she said about an hour. We would've been okay with waiting, but I decided to ask if we split up and sit 4 and 4, would the wait be the same. She answered "we don't have any small tables either". Decided it wasn't worth talking to someone who doesn't seem interested in getting our business so we went to a different KBBQ place in Arlington. Pretty bummed cause we were looking forward to having OMI again. Hopefully the staff gets better training and not push customers away by acting like we weren't welcomed.

The bartender / Host was amazing!!! Crazy how they were going back and forth from the host stand to the bar (name: Philip) They created such an amazing atmosphere and I hope the restaurant recognizes the hard work being put in in the front house. Deserves a pay raise!

I love the new Omi! The interior is nice, the food was good as always and it seems like the service has gotten better! The staff was routinely checking on everyone's table even without us ringing the button which I liked. Can't wait to go back!
