(Trying to gain my elite status back)... This review is for November 13th '24. I cannot describe how immaculate this experience was that evening. From the moment we walked in, to the moment we left, I felt overwhelmed with how particular and excellent the service and atmosphere was. We came in on a Wednesday night, and the crowd was still extremely steady (and they claimed that was a slow night so I can only imagine a busy evening)... l did not get any photos of the entrees, but I do recall ordering Brussels sprouts, the chopped wedge salad, a nice filet, a lump crab cake, and Mac and cheese. I literally have zero complains as far as the flavors the food left on my palette either. If you have never experienced N&S, then you are certainly missing out. This place is in a leave ok their own from the moment you're seated, to the knowledge of the servers, to the food portions and flavor. 10 out of 10.

This was overall a very disappointing experience. This was my first time visiting as it was for most of my group for a birthday celebration. Service - It was not great. The server forgot my drink yo being with and then never returned to see if I wanted another one. I ordered a salad and mentioned by boyfriend and I was sharing. He had them split it and charged me for two salads instead. Most guests ran out of water repeatedly even though there were plenty of employees around refilling water. We were not checked back on after receiving our food to see how everything was tasting.Food - a few highlights were the bread, the filet and the elote corn. Lowlights were the tuna which was flavorless and missing the wasabi peas. If the waiter had ever checked on us or come back around I would of let him know. The calamari was rubbery as was the shrimp cocktail. The Brussels sprouts were overcooked. The Celebration cake was really pretty and good for a photo op but just tasted ok. Ambiance - Although really loud and the seating was crowded, the overall ambiance was nice. The ending of our meal was being told they were unable to split the checks among the couples. On the phone, we were told they could. Long story short, they were split and completely incorrect after waiting 30 minutes for them. We just paid and figured it out later.MUCH better service and food at other restaurants in Dallas. Definitely won't be back or recommending to anyone ever. Total waste of money and time. Unfortunately this was the consensus of the whole group.

I've lived in Dallas for 7 years now and this restaurant has been on the top of my list and I finally got to come for my 6 months wedding anniversary. For such an important occasion this restaurant dropped the ball and I hate I chose it. Nick & Sam was incredibly busy on a Friday night which is to be expected. But it was overwhelming to say the least. So many young adults at the caviar station dipping their chips in the sauce and double dipping and picking up everything with their hands. It was disgusting and I'm surprised no one works that station to plate for you. Also, there were no plates available at all. It took us 30 minutes to be seated and again for us to be an anniversary table we were sat smack dead in the middle of 2 large birthday parties versus having a booth to enjoy some intimacy. We were handed menus that were not wiped clean so when we opened it water spilled out on me. It was then taken away and my server never brought me another one so we had to share menus. Our server was very disengaged and never made eye contact with us once. And we could barely hear what he was saying and he seemed annoyed when asked to speak up.When our appetizers came out the runner spilled the sauce on me and the table and just apologized and walked away. The urgency to speed is crazy but no real urgency to make guest feel welcomed and cared for. The worst part of it all was as we waited for our entree to come out, a short, chubby, bald server takes a female server to the side (which was right against our table) to talk shit about a table he wanted to give her. He stated "they are annoying people and I can't take their shit. I'm giving you this time, I promise you will make money from them, I just can't deal with them." I could not believe that this was taking place right in front of me. I had never been so ready to leave an establishment. For this to be highly rated and known for fine dining I would have never expected the employees to act as though they work at McDonalds. Food was spectacular but didn't enjoy it at the restaurant we ended up asking it to be boxed after two bites because we just wanted to get out.

I loved the fact that they use the space as a gallery to display art. Our server did a fantastic job explaining everything and showing us what we were able to get. He was super attentive and the meal moved at good pace. For me the sushi and dumplings were the standout items, so good. The lobster Mac and cheese and brussel sprouts were a miss in my opinion, which is quite shocking for a steakhouse. I do appreciate an extensive food and drink menu though. We finished off the meal with the soufflé. It was good, be prepared for a very rich and sweet treat with a scoop chocolate chip ice cream.

Overall food was good, but not really as hyped up. This is sad to say about a steak house but the best part of the meal for me was the dessert. Went to the restaurant with a large group so I set my expectations a bit low for how fast the service would be...But a few things about the service I found annoying: I couldn't hear a thing he said to the table, when he brought the tray of meat, he only showed it to the middle and I sat at the end, again heard nothing, and then at the end, encouraged us to order more dessert than we needed. Their rainbow cake was delicious and the sparkly cotton candy was unique. My ratings downgrade is really for the ambiance/noise and the service in general was slow.

For starters, ambiance, vibes, and service are all top notch. Off the charts, hard to beat anywhere in Dallas. The sides and appetizers stole the show. From wagyu dumplings to the calamari, to my personal favorite, the tempura broccoli. My favorite side was definitely the king crab elote, so rich and creamy. Only downside to this trip was the steak. Ordered with a friend who liked medium, split a 32oz ribeye and it came out pretty much rare throughout. On top of that, it was chewy and unsavory. Only disappointing tick in an overall nice experience.

A touch of Vegas in Dallas and some history - haunted too. It was great for a dinner party and had a perfectly sized private room for our group. Service was top notch. Really impressed.Food too was really good. The sushi was excellent. The oysters Rockefeller were delish but too much rock salt. Beautiful and delicious shrimp cocktail. Loved my perfectly good salmon with a chimichurrii type sauce. Delicious! I was excited about the baked Alaska but this one wasn't worth the calories.Lots of fun to dress up and make a night of dinner and drinks.

Always a blast at Nick & Sam's! We had our usual room and our usual set menu, which is exceptional. Always a huge fan of the seafood platters!! The food is always done well, which i super appreciate the consistency here. We tried a ton more cocktails, my new favorite is the Pearberry!! still a fan of the cinnamon apple marg, but I'll request a touch more cinnamon in it next time if they might allow that hehe. I've told people about this place so much my parents came by recently and enjoyed it as well!

Texas beef is amazing, and Nick & Sam's have been doing it right forever. One negative--portions are humongous! Your best bet is to ask the waiter if you should half portion on some items, especially the sides. The mushroom side is special. If you like the steak and mushroom combo, this will inspire you! A half portion is enough mushrooms for two. Desserts are deadly. The y have cake slices that are larger than a cake for 4+ people. You can get a smaller slice, but even those are huge. Other desserts like the baked Alaska aren't as big. Again, communicate with the waiter. This is the type of place that's out to prove that everything is bigger in Texas.

This establishment has been on my radar for 15 years. In an effort to try all the best steakhouses in Dallas I finally came around to Nick and Sam's. Being that my reservation was scheduled upon opening at 5:00 PM on a Sunday, I was given a great valet parking spot by a generous valet staff named Jeff, thanks Jeff! This place is very very classy. They already had it adorned with Christmas decorations and playing good ol' Sinatra in the background. The main dining area is extremely dark, I think it's the darkest restaurant I've been to as I had trouble seeing the menu and eating my steak properly. They beat Tirelli's on darkness. We had the immense pleasure of being attended to by Remington. Remington is everything you would love and expect from a top end steakhouse. His manners and engagement were bar none the best service I've ever had and I don't say that lightly as I've eaten at many high end restaurants in Los Angeles and New York City and Remington blew them all away with his service. He served us a complimentary plate of caviar and all the fixings which was superb because that was a first for me. I had the crab cake as an appetizer - it was definitely not the best I've had, Republic bar and grilled in Galveston gets that honor - it was 'alright', a bit dry and did not have a ton of flavor. However the Iceberg salad we got was incredible. We customized it a little bit but it tasted just like my mother's BLT, and since she joined me this evening we had a blast reminiscing about her food and how close it tasted to her BLT. The bacon was yumtastic! For our main entree I got an off the menu tomahawk ribeye and mom got the prime aged ribeye. Unfortunately, the crust on my steak was just too much for me. It tasted burned and over powered the steak to the point I couldn't finish even after trying to cut off that portion of it. Other than that it tasted really good but I wish I had gone with a different preparation. My mother said her prime aged ribeye was one of the best she's ever had (my mom is someone who uses steak sauce, which of course they didn't have here so she had to eat it without, and she still enjoyed it so that's saying a lot). We had to finish it off with something sweet and we took a chance on the Banana Pudding Cheesecake. Not knowing what to expect we were extremely satisfied with it, it wasn't too sweet and came together very well. The best part of this experience was the service we received from Remington. It felt a bit like the opening of American Psycho. He brought out a steak board and went over the entire menu without a hiccup. Remember to tip your waiters well because they deserve it!!! So if the manager of Nick and Sam's is reading this please give our praise to Remington because he is without a doubt the best server we've ever had. Despite my steak having what tasted to me like a burnt crust I would come back to try a different cut. I'm not at all a picky person for what it's worth. The same cut at Bob's Steak and Chop House to me was a lot better. If you want a classy, romantic and best-in-service establishment you couldn't go wrong at Nick and Sam's. The live piano player towards the end really made it magical. Enjoy stranger.
