Mo' Bettahs Hawaiian Style Food

I've been trying to find a home away from home food for quite some time. Many of the places my husband and I tried fell short.. sadly. I've seen Mo' Bettah in Plano and I didn't realize there were other locations. I'm so glad that we had the time to stop at this restaurant. When I walked in, chills of home vibes quickly embraced me. It felt like home (Hawaii). I also read the mo'olelo and the owners wrote a beautiful message. I loved how they had the surfboards, large photographs of surfers, and little messages of what Shaka means and the surfboard. It was also very nice to see familiar brands such as town and country.There was a variety of plates available. My husband and I ordered the mini plate.. which was still had a lot of food. You have a choice of two proteins. My favorite has always been the teriyaki chicken so OFC I had to get that. I was surprised that they had the Pulehu chicken.. an all time favorite as well.. #iykyk! My husband got the Pulehu chicken and shrimp tempura with all rice.The Mac salad was my favorite. FINALLY! I found a place that made it right!The teriyaki chicken was 'Ono! so good. It was cooked to perfection! The pulehu chicken was a bit dry, but the flavors were still there. For the drink, OFC we had to get the POG drink. IMO - it wasn't as sweet as I remembered, but that's okay. Still good. Unfortunately there's not a restaurant closer to our house so this will be a once in a while eat out place for us.Thanks for a great experience!

So as far as Hawaiian restaurants in the area of Dallas and the surrounding areas Mo'Bettahs is Mo'Bettah than the rest. The food has a more traditional taste and Teri chicken is called Teri chicken, they have Chicken Katsu but the katsu sauce is spicy. The macaroni salad taste good but still has a pepper flavor. The service was great and friendly. The restaurant has an Asian meets haole Hawaiian feel to the decor with surf boards on the wall and basket lanterns for the light covers.

Love going to this place! The teriyaki and katsu chicken are my favorite meats to get here. They always come out juicy! Depending on how much you eat, the regular size plate could be for 2 people. The service here is really quick and kind. There are plenty of tables to eat there or you can always to-go it. Try this place out if you're in the area!

I got the regular plate with the teriyaki and katsu chickens as my proteins of choice. The food was delicious and was a great portion size that left me filled after my meal. The restaurant is spacious and offers both inside and outside seating. The service was decent. More katsu chicken was needed so we paid and sat at a table waiting and our food was forgotten about until we went back up to the front to check on the status. They did get busy serving other guests so it is understandable so be patient with the workers! There are limited parking spots at the front of the establishment so I would recommend parking in the back lot as there are more spots available there.

I've been coming here since they opened. They started out really strong and had really good food. They closed down for a while due to a fire next door (or something like that). I feel like every since they re-opened they have started to go down hill. The quantity and quality of food has dropped for whatever reason. I noticed there are new employees there now, so I'm guessing they've had a lot of changeover. Unfortunately this place had gone from a go-to spot to just an average "Once in a while" type place.

Not sure what happened to my previous review, but anywho, such a great experience trying this place out for the first time. Been back several times already because the food is so delicious and fresh, and they cook it right in front of you. The staff is also very friendly. We've tried all of the proteins except the shrimp tempura, and they were all delicious. The macaroni salad was good too, but was very filling that I couldn't finish all my food. So just a suggestion, if you'd like to eat all your food and you're ok with not having the macaroni, just get another scoop of rice with the 2 proteins of your choice, and you're good to go!!! Haha that's what we've been doing each time we visit.

I've been to a couple Hawaiian spots and can confirm Mo' Bettahs is better! The inside is very spacious, clean, and decorated. I ordered a regular plate with the choice of two meats. I was really impressed by the portion size they were giving out. We could not finish our whole meal.The shrimp tempuras are freshly fried. They had a whole chicken grilling station back there too. I do think the teriyaki chicken was *slightly* overcooked, but it had great flavor. The katsu was incredibly crispy! The teriyaki sauce was okay but a little too sweet for my liking. However, the macaroni salad was SPOT ON! The noodles were perfectly cooked and coated with an appropriate amount of mayo.For ~$13ish for a regular sized plate, you get a great portion size of delicious food in a very timely manner. Definitely one of the better spots to eat in Mansfield!

Stopped by for lunch. The food is excellent. The restaurant is clean. The service is fast and friendly. The portion sizes are huge. The spicy yeobo sauce was so good, we bought a bottle to take home.

Large portions!!! Very good food! While there exhaust fan not working properly! It got VERY Smokey! But loved the food!
