Mike's Real Pit Bar-B-Q

We found Mike's on the way to a concert. Mike is a friendly chap and has a great product. Staff and Mike were extremely accommodating. We had a loaded baked potato with smoked turkey and beef brisket. Mike's meats are smoked in an expensive Southern Pride smoker that uses both gas and wood. The end product is consistent and has a great flavor.Mike ships his barbecue sauce to customers on demand. Since it is hard to find good barbecue sauce in California we will take him up on this offer.Mike's is a family run business that loves their product and customers.It was good to see a Southern Pride smoker in use since we heard about this smoker in California.We recommend giving Mike's a try if you are in the area.

Mike's is a hole in the wall, but sooooo good!I have the same thing everytime, so I don't try anything outside of baked potato and chopped beef sandwich....I rarely eat beef, but their texas toast is everything!! I make an exception maybe once or twice a year. And....the special sauce. Ask about the special sauce, you will want it shipped.I bumped into this place by way of a few friends! I would never have tried it on my own (the neighborhood alone will kind of catch you off guard, but it cones highly recommended by the troops). I miss real bbq like where I am from - Oklahoma has some of the best bbq - but Mike's reminds me of home. If you blink you will miss it.....But, on regular summer days - its perfect picnic food to grab on the way to summer series at Hillside Village.Mike supports the military and his place is a regular spot for troops. His sauce has even popped up on a few deployments. The reserve military base is located not far in Grand Prairie and even though lunch is served on base, getting some smoked food is the best! The food is quality. I have never been disappointed. Potatoes are huge and come off the grill fluffy and moist, filled with fixins (i.e. butter, cheese, sour cream - meat if you ask).

There is nothing good about this barbecue! Either it's your first time eating barbecue or you just never had good flavored barbecue. The links two toned, the ribs dry, that sauce is the absolute worse. The people are very nice to say the least..We eat a lot of different barbecue so try it at your own risk.

We loved the pulled pork and brisket good sides. The owner was friendly and it was fast and clean. Will be coming again when I'm in town.

A very good "hole in the wall" barbecue experience for lunch. I ordered the half slab ribs with potato salad and green beans. The green beans were canned but flavored decently. I am not a frequent potato salad eater, so that was a risk for me. It was mustard based and ok, not my favorite but others may find it wonderful. The ribs were tender and well prepared but just a bit too salty for me, but I am sure just right for others. The customer service was very good and they were friendly.

This was my 1st time at Mike's and tried the 2 meat baked potatoe with chopped beef and sausage links. Well, I'm not gone go hard on 'em, but this potatoe was not what I expected. The problem for me was the sausage, which tasted like a cheap version of eckrich sausage. You know... the pork blend, not the beef blend. I was kinda expecting smoky Denmark or east texas hot link. Nope! Next, the shredded cheese was not melted. You know subpar cheese when u see it..it does not melt very well. So, there was an accumulation of cheese that just was not melting. The chopped beef had to carry the burden of the whole potatoe and its ingredients. Their price point was cheaper than most because I've paid $15 or $16 elsewhere and they truly came with all "the fixins". This one was missing chives and bacon bits.Now, the service was fast and friendly but the ingredients to the food were less than desirable.If I go back, it will be for a chopped beef sandwich only.

Best jumbo baked potatoes around! This is the one meat - Brisket Baked Potato. Excellent and quick service, excellent taste, and great price. Took this to-go, but they do have dine-in area. Check out this GP gem!

Incredible real deal BBQ. The sauce is to die for!I had the half chicken plate with baked beans, coleslaw, and fried cabbage. All was delicious and finished it all off with peach cobbler, the good kind with more crust that filling.Service was impeccable and I was able to speak to Mike direct to give him my compliments.Pricing is amazingly inexpensive. All that I ate and a sweet tea was around 10 bucks. He also gave me a couple of ribs to try out, tender fall off the bone done in a dry rub first. Can't go wrong here folks. Don't go to the chain ones support this local business and enjoy Legit BBQ​
