Mi Familia Restaurant and Cantina

This place consistently amazes me. They're located in Stephenville, my hometown. Their menu offers many unique dishes and hands down, their queso dip with chips and flour tortillas is the best in town! They even make their flour tortillas in house, which is a nice touch! Always greeted with extra friendly staff, and normally order their soft cheese tacos (yummy cheddar cheese filled corn tortillas topped with their amazing queso!) Parents go for something off their combinations menu where you can pick and choose multiple items for your dinner or their taco salad. This is one of my family's go-to places and has been a fav for many years!Hint, as mentioned above - order a large queso and ask for flour tortillas in addition to their chili spiced chips. Recommend at least two flour tortillas per person. Dip tortillas in cheese and enjoy- but no double dipping!

Service keeps this place from getting better. The food has always been fine. The salsa is great. I really like the steak matador. The price you pay, makes this place a great option. Very cheap for the food you get. I come in late most times. Never less than 45 min from close though. Usually right about an hour before. The staff is NEVER very quick to meet me at the wait to be seated stand. Today, two employees seemed to both see me, and decide to wait for someone else to greet me. After about two minutes, one of them reluctantly asked if I'd been helped. Clearly I had not. Pretty annoying. Once seated, I got my drink, chips and salsa, and placed my order. I didn't see my waitress again until my food was delivered. Thankfully she noticed my empty tea glass and asked if I'd like more. Yes. Yes I'd clearly like more. Need to improve service. If you are open till 9, service expectations at 8:14 need to be vastly improved. It doesn't mean it is time to neglect a customer who will likely choose another destination in the future. Because of the lack of respect from the wait staff.

From Dallas, went in to take food to a friend who wanted cheese enchiladas or fajitas. Saw the steak enchiladas asked the bartender do they have cheese in them? He said yes, so I said they are like cheese enchiladas with steak added, again yes. Order two orders got them to my friends house and they had no cheese in them was very disappointing. Staff is poorly trained or the food was made incorrectly.

I wish i could this a zero. but regardless the service was AMAZING!! absolutely the best service! the food on the other hand.. something very debatable. Me and my boyfriend and our friends went out to eat and this is how my boyfriends taco looked. very unfortunate. there barely any meat and barely any cheese. i will never come back after this experience. All our food was either burnt or there was barely any food on our plates. again the service was AMAZING but the food was terrible.

Manager/hostess (redhead) was absolutely the rudest individual I have ever dealt with. I will never go back. Food average/below average. Don't waste your money on this place.

Maybe 2.5.....food average, ordered fajitas we asked for forks twice....,used the spoon in chara beans also average, did not get the cheese and pico plate you usually get when you order fajitas did get tortillas (3) those were good, I was ready to bail but we already invested 45 plus min after ordering, my guess is staffing, time of day IDK....I would suggest off peak prolly better just don't order the fajitas

First time there and we enjoyed our lunch. Generous portions, pretty good service and ok food. Will go again and try something different

Tried it for the first time a few weeks ago and was blown away with the quality and taste of food! I see why their parking lot is always busy, but they have lots of tables on the inside so never much of a wait.

Came here for Mother's Day dinner yesterday, it was awful! I ordered chicken tacos al carbon and it was small pieces of meat with ALOT of bell peppers and onions! I took pictures of my plate of food, I once loved this place, I'm not sure what has happened to it. It was a not so great Mother's Day having to deal with this. Yes I know some will say "eat at home next time" well it was Mother's Day and its what I wanted.

We love mi familia!! We go a few times a month. Love the chimichangas, quesadillas and chicken fajita rice bowl. I sub the corn in the rice bowl for lettuce though. Best queso in town!
