Mel's Place

Made my first visit to Mel's Place a few weeks ago and they did not disappoint. Enjoyed the Chicken Fried Steak (real beef cutlets) and gravy and the fresh hand cut French fries and a salad. CFS was so tender and seasoned very well. It was all soooo good. Waitress was very attentive and helpful. When she brought me my ticket, she said I'm sure you have someone among your family or friends that are in the military so I'm giving you that discount. As I was waiting for my receipt of payment, the cook (not sure if he is the owner) stopped by to ask how all my food was which is almost unheard of. They are a small business that serves great food, works hard and I'm sure would love you to check them out. Let's all eat and shop local!

Wonderful hole in the wall. Don't let the outside full you. Went in for breakfast, a few of us had the Buffett $12, a great deal. Chicken fried steak breakfast and also a little scrambler that was scrambled eggs over biscuits and gravy and bacon. Huge plate and it was the small size. Our waitress was good, took good care of us. We enjoyed it and will go back next time we are in Boyd.

Sad when you go in to have breakfast only to get can gravy along with French fries in stead of home fries! I didn't want FRENCH FRIES!! I truly do not want to go somewhere they are too lazy to make home fries an American staple!! I don't think we will be back.

Very pleasantly surprised by this spot. Delish chicken strips ... loved the fried pickles- great hamburger. Service was excellent. Will definitely be back!

Mel's Place is great. I love their breakfast and if you go on a Saturday or Sunday they have a breakfast buffet. Their burgers and fries are also great, if you like fresh cut fries and burgers cooked on a flat top it is a must try.

Seemed to be a well reviewed establishment and not too far off the Hwy headed to Ft. Worth. The food (breakfast) was delcious. Service was exceptional. All left very happy. Refreshing place and can't recommend it highly enough.

The first time i went here it was fantastic, food was great portions were huge. The second and third time leaved little to be desired. Prob wont go back any time soon.

Greattt place for breakfast and lunch, delicious, and I love the all you can eat on Saturday and Sunday, and it only takes me 10 minutes to get there!!!

If you are ever in Boyd this is a must try. Good oleHome cooking and very affordable.We got lucky and could still order breakfast at 11:15(stops at 11:00) because it was slowI got a scrambler (eggs,bacon,hash browns),on top of a biscuit with cream gravy.We also got a waffle 2 eggs and bacon and a breakfast sandwich on Texas toast.Husband got catfish and 2 veggies.. we all left very full and the whole bill was only 25.00!!

very pleased with this restaurant. It reminded us of the old time country dinners. Food was great and service friendly.
