Maverick Travel Center

Nice travel center away from the main exit of the freeway. Well worth coming here they have a lot of items for sale and they have a really good grill serving breakfast lunch and dinner.

Wow. I reviewed this place 10 years ago. Update! My favorite travel center on the way to DFW. It's 100 miles from home, so the perfect place to stop. There is a Taco Casa inside if you want some quick fast food. OR, the Maverick Grill has some great food. Mike and I love the steak fingers. And the cake is fantastic, except the size has shrunk a little lately. The convenience store side has everything you might want, and the bathrooms are always clean. Today they were packed. I was at the back of the line with my cup of coffee. As an employee walked by, she looked at my cup of coffee and said is that all your getting? I said yes, and she said take off, it's free! What a sweetheart! Always great service at Maverick. Things like that make you remember to stop here, not at the Megastop on the corner. Thanks Maverick! See you on the way home.

Love their food, from the beautiful breakfast to the outstanding lunch plates like catfish plates and hamburger steaks and chicken plates, all are very appetizing. Not to mention their selection of cheeseburgers are outstanding. Awesome desserts also.

When traveling west on IH20 at the hwy. 281 exit go south for an eighth of a mile and Maverick is on your right. There is a walk up ordering. The menu is loaded with home style food and the dessert's are delicious. This visit we went for the burger and fries. This may be my favorite cheese burger and fries they're made the old fashioned way.

This is the spot . It's not just a gas station it's a great place to grab a meal.Even if you don't have time to sit down they got a good selection of grab and go food . You won't be disappointed.

I was shocked that the total for 3 people to eat was $47. We had a reg hamburger, a double burger, an order of cheese fries (small) and a chicken tender plate. Besides the price (which everyone has gone up) the hamburger needed more flavor. I drowned that thing in extra mustard and ketchup just to get something to give me a punch. The patty was thick, but it needed sone char, pepper, season-all......Something! Then there were the chicken tenders that were breaded wonderfully! --BUT--BUT--BUT--- they were not marinated or put in brine so they had no flavor. It was like chewing through the most basic chicken ever. It was so disappointing. My chicken-tender teen did not even finish 2 of the tenders. Waste of money, gonna have to pass this place next time and keep heading into Stephenville to eat lunch.

Another hidden gem! The food is always great! Truck parking in the back is awesome!

Great place to eat. Good variety of things to order I had the steak fingers and my friend had a hamburger. Both were good.It's not cheap but nothing is nowadays. But prices are in line with other options. I recommend you go check it out.

Best Breakfast Burritos ever! Chicken salad, patty melts and catfish are delicious also! Staff is friendly and efficient.
