So happy we finally decided to stop and give this place a try. Sunday at 1pm and the place is packed. We have been to the international store next door soooo many times and nobody inside and of course when we visit it's packed. That's a great sign. I have never had puposas before so we had a learning curve and the waitress didn't speak much English but between my husbands Italian and her Spanish we figured it out. We tried 4 different ones, the cheese and flower, the chicken and cheese, the pork and chicken combo and spinach and cheese. All of them were tasty but the chicken and pork mixtures were our favs. The frijoles and rice were excellent and the pina aqua Fresca was the bomb. We both left so full and the tab was under $25!!!! $25!!! All in all a winner, we will definitely be back to try the tamales and elotes plus need to try the fried plantains. 9/10

Many a time I've sat in the Taco Casa drive-thru line, eyeballing the little "Maria's Pupuseria" sign across the street, wondering what I've been waiting for. Well I finally did it, I went. I even called ahead and ordered for carry out. When I arrived it was fairly busy inside, a handful of parties and 2 people at the register, waiting for their takeout ahead of me. The space is small, clean, and extremely casual. There are a couple TVs, a fridge filled with bottled drinks for sale, and a few desserts for sale as well. The staff was super kind and helpfu I ordered 2 bean and cheese pupusas, 2 jalapeno and cheese, and 1 chicken and cheese. Pupusas are made of corn masa (sometimes rice flour too). They're served hot with a side of red salsa and a little pickled cabbage slaw.. so so good!! Each pupusa is a good size and perfectly griddled with love. Kl rice is a buttery white rice with veggies, very flavorful, and the refried beans were sooo well seasoned. Can't want to go back!

We've gone to another local shop for years that makes pupusas. We found this place this week and were very happy. The pupusas were big and soft and made me very happy. I have no idea how long they've been here, but I wish we had found them earlier. We will definitely be back.

Everything that we ordered was so good. We got 2 each of the Bean/Cheese and Spinach/Cheese pupusa's, fried tilapia, and fried plantains. The spinach/cheese pupusa was the best of the bunch, but I would order any of the rest of it again. The salsa was good, and the chips nice and crispy. The staff was friendly and efficient.

Came to satisfy a craving and I got more than I expected! The chips and salsa were free and freshly made at the restaurant! The sweet plantain were perfectly cooked and were a nice treat or snack but the star of the show was definitely the pupusas and the curtido (fermented cabbage slaw) l! I will definitely be back!! This place is so good and reasonably priced compared to other Salvadoran restaurants in the area.

Authentic Salvadorian Food!!!We ordered our food to go. Now that we know it could take some time to get our food, we will call ahead in the future. (This is the only reason we gave it 4 stars). They were busy and while waiting, we noticed huge portions going out to those dining in. Especially, some type of soup. Outside of pupusas, it looked like the soup and tamales were very popular. The staff was very nice and helpful and even tried to help me with my Spanish since I told them I'm trying to learn. We ordered chips & salsa (the salsa was so flavorful although we wouldn't mind more spice); pork, bean, & cheese pupusa; chicken, bean, & cheese pupusa; and pork, cheese, & loroco (a flower they said it is similar to zucchini). By the time we got home, which was about a 30 minute drive, the food was still very hot. It was fresh, tasted authentic, and was so delicious. Especially, the curtido. We will definitely go back and will make sure to call ahead if not dining in. I should've taken more pictures of the food though. Make sure to check this place out. I'm sure you will find something you will like and the pupusas will not disappoint you either.

What is not to love about this local spot in a strip mall. This place can be over looked if you are not careful. The service was sweet and it seemed like a local joint. My mom had a seafood soup that she loved. The portion size was huge. I had 2 papusa's which were great. I wish I would have ordered more from the menu. I will be back

I was visiting Texas from California with my husband who is from El Salvador. I looked on Yelp and found Maria's Pupuseria. I ordered a little bit of everything to go from pupusas, tamales, yucca frita, tamales de pollo, tamales de elote and atol de elote. I shared with my family who had never tried this cuisine. Everything was delicious and they loved it. Everyone was very friendly and they even carried my food out for me. I highly recommend Maria's and I will definitely go back the next time we visit Texas.
