Macarena Taco Shop and Margarita Bar

This restaurant has a great happy hour with yummy varieties of margaritas. Food is a bit different from run-of-the-mill Mexican restaurants, very tasty and satisfying. Service is always friendly. Prices are average, and portions are nicely generous but not over the top.

We weren't impressed. None of our selections stood out. So, we will not recommend this restaurant  The service was okay, but we had to ask for refills and also for ice. This is a basic requirement for me to be satisfied with a restaurant's service. So, Macarena fell short. The food we chose was unexciting, darn near unacceptably boring. Perhaps we chose poorly. But here's my point of view. Why would any restaurant sell food that's no better than what could be bought elsewhere? Sadly, this left us with a poor opinion of the restaurant. Here's what we ordered:Chips and queso: These chips were good quality. The queso wasn't hot enough. Queso Fundido: Melted cheese with sautéed mushrooms. We have had better, a LOT better, when it's made with grilled onions and peppers. We won't purchase this dish again. Enchilada plate: with cheese and beef enchiladas, rice and beans. This plate is offered as a part of their Taco Tuesday promotion. It's terribly bland and forgettable. The ambiance is casual dining and fairly quiet. Overall, there's much better Mexican food options all over the DFW metroplex, so we won't return.

The service and restaurant itself was great. However, I had higher expectations for the food for the pricing. The rice was excellent but the tacos themselves were greasy and not something I would order again. Their margarita menu is what I would come back for if I did, they have a wide variety of flavors.

Colorful plates of food and an inviting bar -- I'm in! The chips and salsa were tasty and the "Lola's Tacos" (fajita meat and Monterrey jack cheese with pico de gallo on corn tortillas) were too. I didn't get a margarita this time but I saw that get have a million flavors on the menu.. strawberry, coconut, strawberry, jalapeno. Yes, please!

Food is decent. Margs are absolutely fire and hot the spot. The churros were the cherry on top. Honestly the drinks were so good that the food began to taste better as I got further into my drinks! Would definitely recommend. The service was great our server was very attentive.

This restaurant was recommended for happy hour specials in Bedford. I walked inside the establishment and there were cute areas for photos, with a wall drop and neon sign. A waitress seated us and was very kind with recommendations. She continued to check in with us throughout the night and ensure that we were satisfied. Their happy hour special was amazing, specifically for someone wanting margaritas paired with chips and dip. We decided to try different menu items, chicken flautas and a steak chimichanga, both served with rice and beans. The food was absolutely delicious and the portions were so big that we needed to-go boxes. I would recommend this establishment for tasty Mexican food and delicious margaritas. Overall I loved the aesthetic, friendly staff members, and delicious food & drink options! Will be coming back again.

Restaurant is nice. Liked the decor and the ambiance. a huge improvement from what was there prior. I've been seeing ppl post for MONTHS about how awesome the food is here. tacos are good, etc etc. I'm a little picky about my tacos, so I waited. I waited to see pics and see more ppl talking. I finally was able to stop by and give it a shot. I was excited to see pork rinds with queso as an appetizer. VERY excited. I also was excited to see fish tacos on the menu. So i ordered both. The amount of pork rinds that came out was insane. There was SO MANY. But how much queso? It was this tiny container of not warmed queso. WTF do i want so many pork rinds for (at $10 a dish) when there is hardly any queso to eat with a handful of the pork rinds? I can get a bag of pork rinds for like $3 at the store! I don't need to pay that much for a ton of pork rinds on a metal plate with a tiny ketchup container of queso for dipping with pico. How do you eat pork rinds with PICO? the logistics don't make any sense! Bah!!The fish tacos came out cold. The tortillas were pretty raw and cold. I say raw b/c you can tell they didn't touch a hot plate before being plated with the fish. and the fish on top was just slightly lukewarm. Hardly any fish in my tacos, and why would you put pickled red onions in it? Pickled! That's so weird!! Maybe I chose poorly. Like these aren't their star dishes. but eh. I was pretty soured after the entire experience I doubt I will come back.

We tried Macarena on our way to Great Wolf Lodge. We're from San Antonio, so we know good Mexican food. Three of our group are originally from Mexico and everyone enjoyed their meal. We all ordered chilaquiles with some variations like different proteins. Everything was delicious and generously portioned. I regret not trying a marg, but I'm willing to bet they're pretty good too. The happy hour menu looked very reasonable, especially for the area. Service was amazing! The ladies that took care of us were sociable and attentive. Try it out!

The service was great the drinks were great but the food was underwhelming this would be a great place for happy hour but don't expect the world of the food

Love coming to this place! Food is amazing and service is always top notch. I have been coming for awhile but this time I was caught off by the female manager that night named Anna Marie became very aggressive with another regular and slammed a glass down, breaking it! She yelled at him and caused a huge scene over what seemed nothing. I will reconsider coming back as often as I do... sad...
