Tasty BBQ, Cold beer. Friendly staff. So you're busy and can't drive to the Texas capital of BBQ, Lockhart, Texas. I get it. No problem, drop into their remote location, Lockhart BBQ in The Bishop Arts District of Dallas. They're perched on the corner of Davis and Bishop--next to the tattoo parlors--and act as the gateway to Dallas' most eclectic neighborhood. Lockhart has a full bar (lots of local beers on tap), seating enough for a crowd, and damn good BBQ. The adventure starts around the corner and in the back. No trays. No dishes. No utensils. Just bbq wrapped in paper as god intended. I had their Pork ribs, sausage, and some potato salad. It didn't suck. In fact it REALLY didn't suck. You're gonna wanna get some of that and put it your face. Good stuff. Don't go late in the day cause those who know will have gotten there first and left you without. Be sure to get a beer, cause bbq without beer is something a yankee would do. Their beer is served in mason jars, cause that's how beer in a bbq restaurant should be. This is a place for men with beards and the women who love them. Get in there and enjoy!

I'm back a year later and it's a ghost of what it was. Ribs dryed to the point of becoming beef jerky on the ends. Chicken is smoked but flavor only on the skin. It's almost as if someone has lost their love for cooking. Bartender was not knowledgeable about the drinks. At minimum she should know which beer goes good with their bbq. The pic I have is of the olden day when people would waiting and line up outside for their food.

Decent. Brisket meat was a LITTLE dry (not that I'm a huge brisket person anyways) but their sides were fantastic. Good ambiance. No issues with service. Everyone was extremely friendly. Wouldn't mind coming back. They had fantastic pork and jalapeño sausage. A definite spot worth checking out for BBQ

My mother and I visited Lockhart Smokehouse in Dallas, TX on Sunday, 6/30/24, around 3 PM. We ordered:*Pork Ribs*Brisket*Brisket Burnt Ends*Smoked Deviled Eggs*Macaroni & Cheese*Potato Salad *Peach Cobbler*Soft Drinks*Frozen Margarita The ribs tasted good. The brisket was truly tender, but just a tad salty. The brisket burnt ends were overly salty. The smoked deviled eggs had a fine flavor, however, they tasted slightly old. The macaroni & cheese was tolerable in taste, but a little too runny. The potato salad was slightly bland. The peach cobbler was decently fine. The soft drinks had a nice carbonation and the frozen margarita was tasty. The inside of the restaurant was spacious, clean, and nicely decorated. There were many tables and chairs available for dining inside. Each table had a bottle of BBQ sauce, which paired well with the meats. The staff members were welcoming and pleasant. The service was fast and efficient. For spending nearly $150, we had higher expectations of the food quality. The price point was too expensive to consume underwhelming food. We are glad that we visited Lockhart Smokehouse, but do not feel the need to return.

Came here for barbecue. It did not disappoint. Brisket is moist, giant jalapeño popper could have been stuffed with a bit more cheese maybe less sweetness, the macaroni and cheese was yum, and the potato salad was very good. The tea was perfect!

I tried the Texas Vegetarian 3 piece (aka 3 pieces of chicken); I got two legs and one thigh, and added a side of their signature Cole slaw. Everything was super tasty and the service was fast. You order at the back and then grab a table for you and your party; they keep bbq sauce and napkins at each table. Overall, the ambiance is casual and it's a great place to meet up with friends, enjoy some good eats, and not necessarily break the bank. The biggest issue was finding parking, but that's an age old bishop arts dilemma. I only ate the legs, but they brought me everything I needed to wrap up my thigh to go. Will be back!

Came into town and our friends immediately brought us here to get some Texas BBQ and it did not disappoint! Ordered practically a little bit of everything-brisket, sausage, chicken, short ribs, baked beans, cucumber salad, potato salad and banana pudding. Everything was delicious!
