Everything about Koi is amazing and top notch ! Beautiful service always. The sushi is on par with the best in DFW i.e. Tei An and Tei Tei. The izakaya menu is large enough for newbies and traditionalists. We have had pretty much everything on the menu and it's ALWAYS EXCEPTIONAL.Ramen amazing, okonomoyaki great, yakitori always solid, tonkatsu curry is a new favorite, Kakuni always perfect !! Butter squid is like steak, soft shell crab perfect, takoyaki awesome.Their lunch specials are portioned and priced perfectly. We love Koi and have been going almost once a week for the past year since they opened, best Japanese & Korean spot in DFW !

We really enjoyed this restaurant. My husband liked his yakitori and curry so much that he ordered more. The ramen was very fishy and I didn't enjoy that, but there was enough EXCELLENT food on the table that I didn't mind at all. The service was superb, and I loved the decor. There are tiny dining rooms off to the side and it was pretty, clean, and comfortable. I will definitely be back-- especially since my husband insists.

Koi Sushi offers a solid dining experience, standing out as one of the better sushi options in the area. The service was warm and welcoming, making for a pleasant atmosphere. The pricing is reasonable, which adds to its appeal. While it didn't completely wow me, it's a reliable spot for good sushi and worth a visit when you're in the mood for fresh, well-prepared Japanese cuisine.

Food-wise, we usually enjoy going to Koi Sushi due to its vibrant ambiance and fresh sushi. However, our recent experience on July 6th around 3:30 PM left us disappointed. When it came time to pay, my friend and I used two different cards: a $20 gift card and a credit card. The waitress seemed confused, so I explained that the $20 gift card should be applied first, with the remaining balance charged to the credit card. Once the payment was processed, she handed me back the fully used gift card while my friend received the credit card. When she dropped off the checks, she attentively watched over us to see us fill out tip. Once she saw us finish filling it out, she quickly comes up to us and picks up the checks then confronts us.The total bill was around $44, and we intended to leave a 20% tip, which amounts to $8.80. Because the gift card was fully used, I couldn't leave a tip on it, so my friend tipped the entire 20% aka $8.80 on the credit card to cover the tip properly. However, the waitress misunderstood this process and, after seeing the $0 tip on the gift card receipt, asked me to give her a few dollars in cash. I explained that we had included the proper amount of tip on the credit card receipt, but she still didn't understand and quickly rushed to her two male coworkers to show the receipt making it seem like I stiffed her.As someone who also works as a waitress in the restaurant industry, I know the importance of tipping, but it felt inappropriate and uncomfortable for the waitress to ask for additional tip in cash. Tipping is not a requirement in the States, and although I made sure to tip, this experience left a bad taste in our mouths.Other than this incident, our experiences at Koi Sushi have always been positive. However, due to this uncomfortable situation, we will not be returning.

Near H-Mart, this fairly new restaurant is serving up traditional Izakaya food alongside sushi! The inside was cozy and modernly designed with lots of Japanese inspiration. I was really excited to try the food bc they had items I really do not see often in Texas! The service was quick and the food came out even quicker! Let's get into it:Koi special roll - Very tasty roll if you're into rolls, it included: Panko shrimp, crab meat, spring mix, spicy mix sashimi, tempura flakes, eel sauce, sp. mayo, soy paperAssorted oden soup - we make this at home and rarely see it in restaurants here! Loved seeing it on the menu and it was very tasty! Yakitori - Momo (chicken) and tsukune (meatball) - the chicken was really good, but the meatball yakitori was a bit salty Marinated salmon don - very buttery and fresh salmon in this, loved the presentation and accompanied by an egg yolk which I loved! Okonomiyaki - another item I'm not used to seeing on menus here, & it was good!!Ika geso - fried squid! It came with a dipping sauce that was Steamed gyoza - What you would expect, but it did taste good!

ORDERRamen (Tonkotsu) and Sushi Set - Chef's choice of sushi along with Tonkotsu Ramen - My friend ordered the ramen and said it was in his top 2 ramen places around the area. The broth is super rich with complex flavors. The chasu meat has a charred flavor that seeps into the broth and makes it divine. Noodles were bouncy and full of flavor. Very good ramen. Sashimi and Roll Set - Assorted Sashimi with Salmon Rolls. All the seafood was also super yummy. There was no fishiness at all with the raw fish. The cuts were pretty thick and generous too! The rolls were simple and yummy with just rice and salmon, wrapped in the nori. The food also came with salad with a ginger dressing. I'm not too big a fan on salad but it just tasted like regular salad with minimal dressing. Light and the vegetables were also pretty fresh.Overall, the quality of the food is top-notch and looks beautiful. I would definitely come back and bring friends. It's a great place to just sit and catch up over some amazing Japanese Food. Probably one of my top restaurants in the area. VIBESMy friend and I came around lunch time and it wasn't too crowded. Pretty minimal decorations overall. The seating consists of wooden tables with benches or wooden booth-like seating. The lighting is pretty dim overall which creates a cozy environment. There are some decorations that are more Japanese-based but I will say that there is some Korean influence as demonstrated by the music and overall feel of the place (which makes sense because it is in K-Town). There is also seating that is more private in these rooms that are blocked off by short curtains. SERVICEService was great! They were quick and attentive to our needs. Super friendly and food came out very fast. As we left, they thanked us for coming. They were also serving a special grand opening lunch menu with great prices for the quality and amount of food! I'm hoping they keep something similar with the combos because it gives you an opportunity to taste a little bit of everything.

Koi Special Roll, Katsu DonSuper cute new place, nice interior with huge wood tables. Very attentive servers. Koi special roll was pretty solid and tasty. Katsu Don was good but nothing lifechanging. Food service was a little slow. The place was really busy for a random weekday night. Edamame comes complimentary for the table. A little pricey. Love that it's right next to Red Straw for boba!

Called late on a Saturday for a Sunday 12pm CST birthday reservation; we ordered multiple small plate appetizers ~ Gyoza, Chicken Skewers, Takoyaki, Korokke and a few ordered Eel and other sushi - like Amberjack and Albacore. With 9 of us there they brought up some pretty big salad to which was great. For the birthday they gave us a small slice of chocolate cake with a candle - which was great and unexpected. Cool little place that was buzzing around 1:15 or so. Enjoyed the food and the staff were really friendly. Can't wait to go back with just my wife!
