The ambiance was great - dark and moody. Steaks were fabulous, as was the wine and bacon tasting sampler is a must try. Staff was attentive - will return!

I've been to the Knife location in Plano on a couple of occasions and they've always been great! I wanted to try out this location because I absolutely love John Tesar and have even purchased his cookbook. The night started off great with wonderful drinks from the bar. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and we asked a few questions about the offerings. We ordered 45 day aged steak and wet aged bone in ribeye. We had roasted okra, Mac and cheese, and mashed potatoes. All the sides were cooked well and were full of flavor. Unfortunately my steak was over cooked. I ordered medium rare and it came out more medium well. I thought maybe he didn't hear me well so I didn't say anything. But it was not only over cooked, it was full of gristle which made it so hard to eat. I wish I would have stuck with a regular steak and not the wet aged, because it might have tasted better or been easier to chew. The dessert were delicious and I always enjoy the special free items we get take home.

I made a reservation through Resy to have an early dinner here. Only a countertop was available, so we had dinner earlier and got a standard table. It was easy to find; we did get dropped off, so I'm not sure about parking. Upon walking in, we were greeted and shown right away to our seats. It didn't really get full the 2 hours we were there, so I'm not sure why only the countertop was available when trying to make a reservation. Also, I noticed the dress code wasn't really enforced, as the website and text stated. Moving on, our server, Alberto, was very nice. The food was delicious, and the drinks were pretty good. The only issue I kept having was the flies, followed by mosquitoes, which made it a bit uncomfortable, at least for me.

Knife is our favorite steakhouse in Dallas. It is a high price point but everything we have ordered has been incredible. What I love about Knife is how special I feel. I love the little after dinner treats that they serve with the knife mint and I also appreciate the pastry that they send to go to enjoy the next morning. This is the kind of place that I continue to tell all my friends about.

Ugh this was a very underwhelming meal. The interior is so beautiful and magnificent my expectations were so high. Our private room was so stately and spacious and even had a private lounge leading into it. But the food is just awful. The Caesar salads were tasteless (and I really can't remember ever having a Caesar salad I didn't like), the desserts were so odd and basically inedible. My pasta was alright, nothing to write home about. The steaks were meh. My friend's fish was decent at least

We had an incredible dinner at Knife back in November and still haven't been able to finish writing the review until today. We had our reservations for 9:30pm because we were coming in from a show. Thankfully they were able to seat us earlier than our time. One of my biggest highlights of the night aside from the food, ambience, and the service was seeing Chef John Tesar. I did not want to disturb him while he was interacting with other guests but I was elated to just be in the room while he was there LOL.The steak was amazing and the mashed potatoes were divine. The other sides were good but not too memorable. The steak was actually the absolute highlight of the evening. It was very nice of them to bring out a cake for our celebration. I was very impressed with the service and can't wait to return if I am back in the Dallas area to try out the rest of the menu.

I chose Knife for a special dinner to celebrate my wife's birthday, and the experience was nothing short of amazing. From the ambiance to the food, every aspect of our evening was memorable. The dining area at Knife perfectly encapsulates an energetic yet intimate atmosphere. The music, carefully selected and played at just the right volume, enhanced our dining experience without overpowering our conversation. This thoughtful balance contributed greatly to the pleasant and engaging environment. Our server, Alberto, was a standout. His friendly demeanor, combined with his attentiveness and extensive knowledge about the steaks, significantly elevated our dining experience. His expertise in explaining the different cuts and preparations made choosing our meal both educational and enjoyable. For our main course, my wife and I each indulged in the 6oz petite filet, which was cooked to perfection. The John's Mac and Cheese and roasted carrots were our chosen sides, and they complemented the steaks beautifully. The mac and cheese was creamy and comforting, while the carrots added a lovely roasted flavor to the meal. The highlight of the evening was the birthday dessert, a beautifully crafted white sponge cake soaked in blueberry, with a middle layer of passion fruit panna cotta and a top of vanilla custard. This dessert was not just a treat for the taste buds but also a work of art. It was incredibly delicious, and I was lucky enough to share it with my wife.In summary, Knife provided an exceptional dining experience. The combination of a great atmosphere, knowledgeable and friendly staff, exquisitely prepared food, and a standout birthday dessert made our celebration truly special. Knife is more than just a restaurant; it's a place where special moments are made even more memorable. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to celebrate an occasion or simply enjoy a fantastic meal.

Came here for an evening with some friends and we were seated at a booth in the far corner. Great serveice great ambiance albeit being at a hotel just around the lobby. This had exceptional steak with a good ambience to boot as well as great service, and a great wine list.I enjoyed particularly the steak and the high-quality of the meat as well as the accompaniments. In particular the steak was dry aged, and had a marbling as well as a very smoky taste to it. The cooking temperature was perfect. This was a very enjoyable experience. The tour if the meat cellar was educational I highly recommend this place

I've been here at least three times since it first opened in Dallas. I brought my partner for his first time since I wanted to impress him with their steak. His favorite steak places were Nick & Sam's and Town Hearth, but I told him Knife was a heavy contender. We shared the 90 day dry-aged bone-in strip and it was heaven!! We started with the fresh Caesar salad and had the Mac and cheese for the side. No room for dessert this time, but you know they always give a little mint and gummy before you go. Now my partner's favorite steak house in DFW is Knife. :)

It was to be a celebration. Food was mediocre and price denoted excellence. Server spoke so quietly...she made things more difficult. Every single aspect of this experience was disappointing and I would never recommend.
