JJ Fish & Chicken

My mom and I have been dining at JJ Fish & Chicken in Lancaster, Texas, since my high school days, and it remains a favorite spot for satisfying comfort food. Their fried fish is consistently good, with generous portions that ensure you leave full. The rice complements the main dishes well, adding to the overall enjoyable experience.

Always a 10/10... perfect amount of seasoning & the chicken is so crispy & made perfectly... jjs is one of my favorite spots to visit when I'm in the area.

Stopped by for lunch for the first time and the place was nice and clean and the person that took my order was very nice and explained everything in detail I ordered the lunch special fish and shrimp and it wasn't bad the shrimp was a bit small as well as the fish but it was good I will give them another try

I can truly appreciate how their food is made when ordered especially any of the fried items versus other chicken spots that usually keeps a certain amount of fried food cooked but kept warm under a lamp or in a steam table . And not that I'm complaining because I can understand fully why that's done when certain items are high in demand. I'm just simply acknowledging and appreciating that JJ fish & chicken will have you wait to get fresh out the grease. This was not my first time at this establishment. However, it was my first time having their fish . I ordered the fried whole catfish on the side which it was explained and encouraged that I get the meal because the price wouldn't change . To me personally, that's great customer service to encourage your customers or even just let them know about the price so that they can better make a decision and moneys worth . I also orders the 5 piece tenders meal and the 4 piece whole wing meal. All came out fire hot and you could smell the fresh grease and seasonings through the tire tight bag. The crunch was perfect on everything that I bit into. Another thing that I noticed and appreciated to the fullest is how they don't fry all their foods in the same cooking grease. it was nice to eat my chicken and it not have a hint or seafood attached to it . You can tell about people frequent there , just by the number of people I seen come in there, during my 30 mins wait . The cashier was really sweet and fast . I watched as she would jump from register to register making transactions at the same time, while taking walk in orders , pick up orders , check on orders and answer the phone and get over the phone orders. She did so nonstop within my 30 mins wait and did so so effortlessly and so kindly. Another worker, maybe he was the manager or the cook would often come out and help her get the orders out accordingly. It was really a simple but yet great experience . The fish was so good to me that I will be back to try their other types of fish. On the Menu I believe I saw whiten, tilapia , ocean perch, buffalo, and different cuts / pieces of catfish. I highly recommend this lil hole in the wall fish and chicken shack.

A go-to for gatherings and parties. Everyone looks forward to JJs when we host get togethers. Best wings ever!!

Whole catfish is awesome, the fillets are good. I see lots of people ordering the wings so that's my next order.

STOCKTON LOCATIONI heard so much about this franchise. I had to try the fish. I went to the Stockton location last week and found the Buffalo fish fantastic. I called my immediate family and told them of this discovery due to our love of Buffalo fish.My mother request 2 orders for her 83rd birthday on May 28, 2022. I proceeded to acknowledge her request and went on May 28, 2022. I ordered 3 large orders of Buffalo fish which came to $49 and some changed. I tucked the orders in an igloo due to the long ride to my mothers. Once at my mothers, the orders went into the fridge.Later in the evening we went to eat and found the fish to be unrecognizable. Was this Buffalo fish? The pieces were so thin, we thought the orders had gotten mixed up with someone else's. The pieces looked like fillets. We have been eating Buffalo for a total combined total of years of 185 years. What was this?My mother was upset and dismayed. For almost $50 dollars we received maybe $20 worth of fish. Speaking with Mike (manager), he informed me, "this was the new product sent from the suppliers". He also stated, it had been brought to the that attention of the owner.Well, I believe this information should of been shared with the customer when ordering.I AM SO DISSATISFIED! I THOUGHT, I HAD FOUND THE FUTURE PLACE FOR GROUP LUNCHES, FAMILY GATHERINGS AND GOOD BUFFALO FISH. I FEEL CHEATED!

They make you pay extra for a sauce I ordered 10 piece wings & got no sauce ... weird This is the only JJ's that does that. I've been going to JJ's since I was 12 years old and never once have I paid for a sauce with my wings got the nerve to give me ketchup who eats ketchup on chicken.. Wisconsin WOULD NEVERRR

The staff were friendly. The restaurant appeared to be clean. My wings were fried too hard and dry. The coleslaw was too soupy.

The whole wings are cooked after ordering and the fries as well. Everything is always fresh they remind me of the chicken my grandmother used to make.
