Unassuming exterior, once inside you will be impressed with the relaxing atmosphere.Big open Floorplan, subdued lighting, Sportsbar & lounge upon entry, then a big restaurant dining area, also dim lighting.The pizzas, pastas, and salads here are New Haven-style, and look delicious. I had been on my way to play pinball after dinner, but Infiniti Arcade was closed, so I decided to try a cold glass of cheer at Fortunate Son.Bar staff was pleasant & attentive, a small crowd here was watching 1, or more of the games on the screens.I had a cold one, and 1 N-A cold one, to set my pinball disappointment to the side. Next visit at Fortunate Son will involve the restaurant side, Son!

I wasn't overly impressed by this place. We tried the New Haven with cheese style - the sauce was good - just not enough of it. The balsamic and arugula one was nice, stated came with a white sauce but again this one wasn't even detectable - needs more. They gave us a QR code for the menu, only had one pizza size. Turns out they have two sizes. The large is very big. Had to sit at the bar as dining room had a 45mins wait on Sunday lunch.

Basically an extensive full bar that also serves decent new haven style pizza. The Large White Clam pizza ($36.50) was huge and tasted great. Crust was a little overdone, so oven temp consistency could be improved. I wasn't a fan of the Original pizza (no cheese). Garlic Parmesan Wings (4 for $9) were pretty good! We tried a variety of their unique drinks and cocktails which were all interesting and worth trying. The restaurant is dimly lit and kind of loud, so it's more of a sports bar vibe (they also had big TVs showing the football game). It's currently dine in only, which is too bad because I wish I could pick up a pizza to enjoy quietly at home. There's usually a wait for a table during peak times, so it's understandable that they don't have the capacity to add to go orders. If you're looking for a bar that serves great food, definitely check this place out!

Came here because of the hype, hoping that a pizza place in Texas would live up to north east coast pizza standard. Whomp. First off, I was shocked DT Garland even had a nice area with restaurants and bars, who knew? Now on to restaurant - while we did expect a wait it wasn't too bad overall with the text system you didn't have to stay in one place. The bar was available to order some drinks - there was tv and seating to enjoy. Customer service during my night, great! No complaints with waiter, hostess, and bartenders.Now on to the food:Garlic knots - not garlicky or buttery. Felt like eating just bread with a hint of garlic.Meat pizza - it was just OK. Tasted very salty - the meat and sauce. Overcooked and crust was chewy and hard to eat.The Original (the popular pizza review) - I didn't see how it scored that high? Am I missing something? Overly salty to my liking. The crust was over cooked, tough and chewy. I love crust and I could not finish them. Disappointed, especially with the hype.

Finally make the trek down to check this place out. We made sure to be there when they opened at 11am and we got seated right away despite a group of 8 with no resys. I will admit this is my first time trying New Haven style pizza so didn't really know what to expect. The pizza is crisp and crunchy and while still being able to taste the crust and the ingredients were definitely fresh from the taste of it. We tried several pies including the classics and the clam pie. The tomato pie was by far my favorite. We also tried the ghost pepper wings and they were no joke! Customer service was fantastic and an excellent beer selection. I think I still prefer a nyc style or neo pie but this is definitely an excellent option for those wanting to venture out.

This hands down has to be one of the best dinners I've had in a long while. Located right off the garland square this place is large with plenty of seating, we expected a wait and luckily we were sat within 15 minutes and ordered quickly. The service was fantastic and attentive. We got the crab and artichoke dip and the formaggio pizza, both were bursting with flavor and the pizza was the star. Overall everything is worth the price and the pizza is HUGE. If you're looking for solid pizza with amazing flavor this is a must go.

I really enjoyed this, and had been eyeing this place to check out for a bit. The interior is dimly lit, but there's a great sort of comfy, local vibe to it. A lot of people definitely seem like regulars. I'm in a powered wheelchair with a lift option so I ate at the bar, but there were plenty of normal height tables and raised height tables, and also outdoor seating too.My server Joe was really nice and a good conversationalist, and he went to the trouble of checking with the kitchen if they had any gluten free dough left even though the system didn't show any (they did!). The pizza was great: bigger than most gluten free ones i've had, with a variety of textures, a nice saucy flavor to really give a good splash of acidity, a crust that has a crunchy exterior and a nice fluffy interior, and overall a fair price. It was served piping hot and really hit the spot. I'll definitely come back.

Have been here almost weekly since moving to Garland and it never fails. Authentic New Haven pizza with a REAL sourdough crust, attentive and warm service, lovely atmosphere.
