3.5 Food - The food here is good. This place has been in Arlington for a while. Used to be a cash only place (maybe still is? I just assume still and always bring cash). I suggest going in-person because the dishes are freshly cooked. You know what you're getting when you sit down. I will say that reviews showing fattier cuts of meat for to-go orders is true. They seem to cheap out in certain areas and based on recent reviews, this trend is still the same. Service - On more recent visits, the service has been better but can still be hit or miss. Ambiance - Nothing to write home about. It's an older restaurant and I know the interior hasn't changed in like 15+ years. I grew up near this place in South Arlington so I'm pretty familiar with it. It's a small hole in the wall. There needs to be more authentic Chinese cuisine like this or Wu Wei around South DFW. My recommendations to 1st Chinese BBQ is first get your food right. Your customer, whether in-person or to-go, shouldn't get the fattiest cuts of pork or duck. They should all get the best cuts. Service also needs to improve. It doesn't need to be some gourmet type stuff, just needs to be attentive to customers who aren't regulars or familiar with the place. While my experiences have generally been positive, I know the other reviews here are accurate based on what they've said. I hope this review finds the owners so they can improve. There are very few places in South DFW or Arlington that serve fresh Chinese cuisine like this in a sit-down style restaurant. The taste is much better than your fast food or take-out Chinese places. So why 3.5 ? Because you can just *feel* this place can be better. This is why folks tend to visit this place on a whim and not regularly.

I'm so so sad to have to say this as it's been a place our family has frequented since I was a child, but just for the safety of others- I ordered a lot of food from here last night and ended up with severe food poisoning. I felt the effects just 45 minutes after eating. It was excruciating pain and almost sent me to urgent care. The one thing my family did not eat was the BBQ pork, which I had multiple pieces of so we think that's the culprit. I'm still dealing with the food poisoning symptoms on day 2 and hope to be done with it soon. Please be careful!

This was my first time coming here and I will be definitely coming back soon. The prices are reasonable, service is fast and friendly, and the food is really good. One last thing: It's cash only, so bring lots of cash.

Roasted duck and bbq pork are good. All other food is below average with too much oil. Service is a little bit slow. The salted chicken was not good. The clam was tiny with much sand and smell fishy. Wonton soup has meat smell.Beef was too chewy. Over all too much oil and low quality. They charge tip automatic for group of 5 and above.

This is kinda the definition of a hole in the wall Chinese restaurant! That being said, the food is really good, but you go just for the food. I've came here multiple times with family and have sometimes had a really rude man as the waiter who talks rudely in Chinese which I can clearly understand(not sure what the point is). But recently when I came we were served by a really friendly and accommodating woman who I believe is the owner or the owners wife! She's great. Now for the food, for 3 people we got half a roast duck, beef pan fried noodles, and beef chow fun. All really friendly dishes to anybody who hasn't had too much exposure to actual Chinese food!I would definitely come back assuming we get similarly good service!

Love this place for their roasted bbq. The staff was nice and joked around with us. We also ordered fish with tofu, flat beef noodle and mushroom with vegetables. Everything was delicious and they gave tons of white rice. The leftover made great takeout boxes afterwards. We'll def be back again!

Been going here ever since I was a kid. I haven't gone here in 2 years so here's my most recent experience. First we ordered the wonton soup. It came with plenty of wontons for a party of 4 with a nice simple broth. Wontons tasted pretty average. I use to looooove their Orange chicken.. However this time they used less sauce, and less meat. It is more crispier than it use to be which is not a bad thing but the way it use to be was better. I also decided to try their Szechuan beef. Some of the meat was kinda chewy. But some were good. The flavor was there. A little kick to it. There is a slight pungent flavor to it that kinda put me off. Probably from the veggies. Lastly we had the crispy tofu with shrimp. This dish took a while to come out but the texture was amazing. There was just a hint of shrimp on top but it complimented well with it. The sauce was light and not too overpowering. It went well with the tofu. Overall had a pleasant experience here. Service was prompt and friendly. We went for lunch on Sunday and it wasn't as packed like it use to be.

I ordered the Singapore Curry Noodle. Where's the curry? There was a very slight hint of curry, so the dish was exceptionally bland.Going into the restaurant many times between 11:45 and 1:00pm, there are only two or three tables with customers, however, there are take out customers. The woman who takes your cash and then brings the food to the counter says nothing to the customer. There is no "thank you". It's as if she is doing you a favor by selling her food, at a high price. The place has been on the decline. The ambience is a plain space that requires remodeling.
