Finn Mac Cool's Pub

Probably the worst service currently in the Downtown/Near Southside bars around. Everytime either myself or a group of friends, have attended this bar over the past 3-5 times, I have been met with the same 2-3 bartenders with the most ridiculously "down-in-the-mouth," attitudes. No stranger to a dive bar, I invite the experience of a standoffish set and a moody, dark setting. But mood, setting, and even tone, are theatrical at best when it comes right down to it. Sorry you're down. I'm a little down too. But ignoring customers when they speak to you is obviously something that the local set or their owner/managers haven't been calling these bartenders out on. Unless one can PROVE they are DEAF with a disability and they handled a customer issue in the way they did, there's no excuse for a customer being CHARGED a "walked tab," for their inexcusable, pervasive, failure to respond to customer questions or needs by pretending to not hear what they were asking. Ridiculous. You're NOT DEAF! There's three people in the bar, one has a reasonable question about their charge. ANSWER the question, don't pretend you can't hear them speaking at stadium level speaking voice. Not cool McCool. Leaving for McFly's. Peace out.

The service is the best and the drinks and HH is amazing. I will definitely be back. I recommend the ranch water didn't disappoint

Great neighborhood pub with good drinks at fare prices and good happy hour. The bar is a must see

Just looked at my checking statement from our most recent visit to this place and they took the creative freedom to add a $10 tip on top of our bill after we left.FYI, that is illegal and the way you treat your patrons should also be illegal. Poor service, shady bar staff that adds tips......... Good luck as I will be sharing these experiences with many others and promoting those establishments that deserve the business.If you have done business at this establishment I recommend checking your receipt as others have also noted this shady behavior.....

A great neighborhood bar in Fairmont neighborhood. Bartender and patrons are friendly. Beer/drinks prices are average. They do have a kitchen but they allow patron to bring food from outside.

Great vibes. Disgusting ladies room. The vomit stains on the wall are one thing, but at least clean your toilets. Seriously?

Still appears to be closed...I think they've been closed since the start of Covid with little indication of when they will be reopening. Too bad, was a decent place to meet up with friends.

As I approached the entrance of Finn Mac Cool's (trying not to trip in my Valentine's Day heels that I really can't walk in), I could taste the smoke seeping through the building from around the corner! I turned around and put my coat in my car because I knew it'd reek for weeks if I let it in there. I'm a little sensitive/allergy-ish, but I think we could all agree on the potency of the cigarette fumes at Finn's. But still, 4 stars it is! I may have feared for my lungs, but all in all I had a blast at this little pub. They had woodchuck cider on tap - which is awesome - along with a slew of other great beers ranging from cheap to pretty crafty. The front room with the bar has tables for sitting, mingling, and eating, and the back room is a sort of pool hall/sort of lounge for roaming and sporting. We played cricket, and I'll have you know I've got some surprising dart throwing prowess going on. There are a couple tables, a bar along the wall (with video games attached?!), and plenty of stools in this back room. You can put your feet up while others play their games! Know what else is back there? A quarter wall with a door that leads to nowhere new. It's literally just a random wall with a door in it. It's quite strange and makes this otherwise conventional bar a bit whimsical!

This place is the bomb- I moved to the neighborhood 6 months ago and this has been my go to spot. Full of locals and regulars, great bartenders and classic dive bar/pub feel. 10/10 recommend

Great small little pub. Highly recommend for a place to start/finish the night. The bartenders there were very inviting.
