What a delicious place to eat some brunch, lunch, just food in general. Get your girls together and make a reservation for Saturday or Sunday. Service was great and fast and efficient. I had pne of the specials, the bacon and chive quiche....they didnt mix it all together so all the ingredients were at the bottom which i didnt like too much but still was good. I tasted the biscuits and gravy which were devine. Also the biscotti latte is yummy!Street parking and a small parking lot nearby. Shopping on the other side of this restaurant. Go check it out.

Love, love, love! If you're looking for a cute, cozy boutique-like feeling in a cafe this is the place. Specialty coffees, good food and a cute ambiance?! Perfect for a date night or girls brunch. There's also a speakeasy upstairs with a card room. Staff is friendly and helpful when it comes to questions. We've had great experience with the service both times we've been!

Great stop off of the highway while traveling from Dallas to Houston. Really nice ambience, restrooms, yummy food, sweet service team. Save a little time for the super cute shop paired with it. We didn't and I have regrets!

We stopped by the bluebonnet festival in our way to a woman's retreat. We paid to go into some sort of nice farmers market type of festival in downtown Ennis. We decided to eat lunch here. I got the fern bowl. It was a healthy bowl with brown rice, carrots, mushrooms, arugula, and a few other things. It tasted really good! It was creamy and savory! I really loved that this restaurant had multiple vegetarian options. Since it's a small town, it was a little nervous that I wouldn't find anything, but there were multiple things to choose from on this menu. My friend got the BLT sandwich and she liked hers as well. I tried some of her potato chips and they were freshly made from scratch. I would recommend this place to others that are coming to visit the small city. We had fun here! The waitress was also really sweet!

This little cute spot is in downtown Ennis. I've never actually explore Ennis much but we found this little cute spot & decided to try it out. As soon as we walked in they welcomed us in & we sat down. They were very attentive & brought our food within 10 mins of ordering it. The only thing that I personally didn't like was that my meat wasn't cooked all the way & she clearly asked if I wanted it with a little pink & I said no. I told her I wanted it well done. Well, my friend & I got the same thing & they both looked with little pink. But besides that it was a nice experience. The fries cost extra $11 dollars & sandwich was $16. Our tab was about $50 with no tip. The tip was extra extra. According to my friend's experience she said she gives it a 3 out 5 stars as well because, The food LOOKED good. But I felt like it was missing something. Also the vibe is brunch with older people vibes. Why did we go there with our loud babies?

DO NOT PASS THIS UP! This place absolutely nails everything Food: I had the BURRATA for an appetizer. Let me tell you, it was out of this world. The peaches mixed in, brought out incredible flavors. It's an absolute must have. Waygu Steak Sandwich: This has a superb flavor profile. Cautious if you are not a fan of truffle, it is very distinct in this dish. I would definitely eat again. Ambiance: it's got a very cute boutique attached to it, the lighting is perfect, and very very well decorated l. Service: I had Jessica (manager I believe) and she was great, and very informative. The atmosphere created amongst employees was pleasant to witness. This place is awesome and I 10 out of 10 will be back!

I've been here twice for lunch and really enjoyed everything. I look forward to future coffee mornings, happy hours and dinners. The restaurant is in an old brick building right downtown. Parking on Main wasn't available but there were plenty of spots right near the entrance to the restaurant on the side street. The nearby landscaping done by the city is lovely. Russian sage & Vitex made the walk from the car pleasant. You get a very "nice neighborhood" vibe if you're coming from out of town.Inside feels like you've walked into an Anthropologie store. Elegant and charming, brick, wood, matte gold, well designed lighting and nice upholstery made the area relaxed and appealing. It's the kind of place that makes me want to redecorate my home. There is a beautiful bar with cushy stools, some booths, some tables. The staff is very attentive and helpful. They really know the menu and can describe dishes, ingredients and help you choose something. That's never a problem for my husband but sometimes I am indecisive. I went with groups both times and tried different things. My *FAVORITE* things so far Cocktails: bluebonnet bramble, pomegranate martini. (In both cases I let them know I don't like my drinks overly sweet and they came out perfect)Appetizers: the Burrata and the Artichoke Dip. I will definitely get the burrata again. It had a smoked tomato purée around it and it came with some fabulous grilled bread to put it on. It was a highlight. Entree: carbonara add shrimp, Fern Bowl add Shrimp, and the Shrimp and grits. Grilled chicken sandwich. Especially liked the carbonara. I did ask for some extra chili oil for the fern bowl to kick it up a notch. In fact, it was the waitresses suggestion when I requested salt, and it was a good one.The prices were just what I'd expect. I've been to other places lately and left wondering what I'd ordered that had been so pricey or knowing that I had ordered expensive things but wishing they'd tasted better. But here the prices seem just right and the quality was spot on. The people in the kitchen know what they are about. I just happened to hear about this place from a friend of my sons who got a job here. I'd never heard of it and decided to make the 30 minute drive from Midlothian after glancing at some menu items on Yelp. I'm so glad I did and it is my new favorite place. Definitely worth the drive! I understand they do espresso and fresh pastries in the morning (and hot breakfast maybe?), brunch on weekends, lunches, dinners, and there is a bar upstairs at night that does trivia nights and so forth. I definitely want to check out a trivia night. Brunch here would be perfection. I'll definitely remember that for a future special day. On my most recent visit I found out happy hour starts at 3:00. I wish they'd share more info about hours & menus on Facebook Ennis is lucky to have this place. My next favorite lunch spot is a distant 2nd place in Fort Worth. Nothing like it in Midlothian for sure.

I stopped in after spotting this place on Yelp a few months back so only fair I review this place after I had the shrimp & grits on yelp. I went in solo after a ENT appointment on a Tuesday afternoon and it had a decent crowd, not a huge place but quiet, chic and a friendly staff. I sat at the bar and was able to read the signs, menu and check it all out. I ordered the shrimp and grits with a soda, something I knew I'd eat but there were many options I wanted to try; going again this week with a friend. Cute addition to have in Ennis. I did notice they specialize in coffee after I ordered so this place would be good for an afternoon pick me up cup of coffee. Food came out and it looked delicious! I dove in for a shrimp and then thought about the picture I was going to take but that's what shrimp do to me. This dish was cooked like I never had before, instead of a roux base it had a "green base" for the jalapeño but it was not pepper hot at all. It was ok but for $26 for a single plate of food it should've been better than just ok. I wouldn't order it again, definitely overpriced but I'll go back to try other things. I didn't finish the meal the lady asked if I wanted her to box it up for me but declined. The other 1/2 of the building was a boutique shopping and I bought a few things out of there.

We have been to Fern in the Wild twice, first late at night, then Saturday morning for breakfast. First time, we split the Waygu burger and fries, and both were really something special! Both perfectly cooked and very fresh. For breakfast, I ordered the biscuits and sausage gravy, and my wife ordered the BLT. We both took home half of our meal. I only order biscuits and gravy about once a year, and the first bite confirmed that this dish at Fern in the Wild is the first to ever measure up to my grandmother in the hills of Tennessee! Seriously, someone really knows southern cooking! I could only finish half of it, but that half was heavenly. The BLT was also epic! Perfectly cooked bacon, avocado, greens, fresh tomato on a really great toasted bread. We live about an hour away, but we will be back soon to try the rest of the menu!
