El Viejón Seafood Restaurant

Came back to the try the chicharrón pulpo but I wasn't loud enough when I ordered and the chicharrón ribeye came out instead. I wasn't made at it though. It was really good with its generous portion of guacamole and the 4 quesadillas. I do love octopus, so I'm coming back for the chicharrón pulpo

I am trying a new experience while on a business trip. I was greeted at El Viejón with a smile and a friendly welcome. I was seated right away and brought child with a dip that looked like it had carrots & onions in it. It was for me medium spicy but I think I am a wimp when it comes to spicy food. The environment reminds me of a sports bar. The indoor seating is a room with 12 tables that can seat 4 each. The table can be combined for large groups. There is a bar which can serve lots of Margaritas & mixed drinks. There are six TVs around the room & bar with Latin station overviewing a current soccer championship. There is a outdoor patio area with lots of seating. I was surrounded by Latin music bringing a very nice atmosphere.I am trying the Tostada Del Chapo. It has fresh scallops, shrimp cooked in lime juice, octopus, surimi fish paste, ceviche, cucumbers, tomato, red onion, cilantro, avocado, Serrano peppers in a house prepared juice.The Tostada Del Chapped was delicious!!! I used the chips as a vehicle to get good distribution of ingredients in each bite. I will be back!!

Ambience 4/5The place is really big. They have inside/bar and patio sections. We choose the bar so we would not have to wait for a table because we were hangry lol but if we wanted to wait for a table it wouldn't be long,(we were 3rd on list). The bartenders were really nice, and very tentative to us as they were making drinks for other tables. Food 4/5I had the Chicharrón (Rib eye) Molcajete; came with guacamole as the base with chicharrón on top, along with grilled onion and lime. Served with 4 quesadillas. I absolutely loved it! My hubby had a taste of it and he agree that it was good. My hubby had the Mar, Cielo y Tierra; grilled shrimp, steak, chicken with potatoes, grilled peppers and onions. Comes with rice/beans with tortillas. It was good! Portions are pretty good for plates. Food 4/5Complimentary Chips and Spicy Coleslaw are giving to you when you sit down. I really like them. I enjoyed that they offer a variety of different plates in the menu. They do offer baskets for fried food if you want some fried shrimp or fillets with fries. Drinks were good too. The frozen margaritas were good, not too strong but not weak. This was our first time, we saw a Tik tok video and decide to give it a try. I definitely recommend to check this place out.

Can't wait to come back! The Trpical Ceviche was amazing, full of mango & pineapple! I ate it all & it 2as so light & refreshing. Breyce was helpful with her recommendations!

Honestly one of the best Mariscos I've had in the US I've had some close, but this tops them all, the Grilled octopus was amazing!!!! And the Pulpo tostada was on another level, I left with my stomach ready to blow up but I still wanted to try some of their other things!! Money well spent today great choice!!!!

Service is good, meat is great but malcajete is a little too spicy, Mexico spicy mixed with Thai flavors.Price is moderate comparing to California inflation. Vivid taxes vibes!

They give you chips and cabbage with the flavor of chipotle to start off. I order the shrimp cocktail and a Jamaica to drink.The shrimp cocktail had a strong flavor of ketchup and the shrimp and squid were really cold, the oysters were very bitter.The Jamaica was also watered down.

The "grilled octopus " was not grilled and very soggy! So very disappointing especially for the price !?!Grilled shrimp: does not specify that it is 'peel shrimp'
