Since we were visiting from out of town, when my relatives asked what we wanted for our first meal in Texas, I said TexMex. They immediately said we're going to "El Rincon." I'm glad they did.We were a large party (10+) with ages from 1 years to over 60 and they had something for everyone. Our kids loved the kids quesadillas (which were a massive portion! They easily could've shared) and of course the complementary chips & salsa were devoured. The homemade salsa was great. A perfect level of heat and flavor. I got the Tacos Al Carbon and was a bit surprised to see them come wrapped up almost like an uncooked taquito, but honestly, one bite and I didn't care how they looked. They tasted absolutely amazing. After all the chips & salsa I wasn't really hungry enough for all 3, but they were so tasty that I gobbled them up. I just couldn't stop. Especially knowing that I wouldn't be able to return here as often as my tastebuds would want me to. My wife got the tortilla soup. She said it was just ok but I found it tasty. The fish that my father-in-law had was also delicious. I really wish we could've come back to try other items on the menu. Seeing the other dishes, especially the fajitas, coming out to other tables really gave me some fomo.Staff was attentive and friendly. They were the perfect match of coming to check in on us and leave us to enjoy our meals/company. I really appreciated that. The decor of the restaurant is a bit cliche. But it's got large ceilings and big windows that let in tons of natural light which give the whole place a sense that it's much larger than I know it was. I really wish I had room for dessert as everything looked great. They also had a strawberry & creme special for Valentine's Day that sounded great. But alas we all had to pass as almost everyone was going home with enough leftovers for a full meal. I guess that will just have to wait until the next time we're visiting family. Because we will for sure be coming back.

Walked in for lunch on a random Tuesday. It was light not too many people thankfully. The inside and outside is aesthetically pleasing and nicer at the Carrollton location. Everyone was attentive and nice, no issues with service. As far as food goes. It reminded me of an El Fenix, Ojedas, Chuys. The queso was really good and flavored well. The sauce that they put on the Carnitas Chile Rellenos should be replaced with another sauce like the salsa they service with the chips and salsa would par better. It was like pizza tomato sauce that's what I would compare it too. The rice was really good and the black beans were good as well. The frijoles were really good as well even took some home rewarmed them and they were just as good as when we had them fresh. As for the verde enchiladas and fajitas I would rate them a 3/5 could be fresher and more flavoring not sure if I can pinpoint the taste. The flan for dessert was excellent. The shrimp Brochette was actually really good just burnt, also I wouldn't serve the butter with this appetizer it just didn't make sense. Would par it with another salsa/sauce. Definitely not butter.

I loved this family owned Mexican restaurant in charming downtown Carrollton. The margarita and chips and salsa alone are worth returning for. I had the Charro soup as my entree and it was perfect for a chilly evening. The soup was perfectly seasoned with a hint of Serrano. Husband at the Birria which was rich and flavorful. Definitely want to return for the authentic tastes, good service and comfortable ambiance.

Solid mexican place in downtown. Happy hour all day Monday (which means $5 house margaritas, and $2 off appetizers)The chips are served warm and best eaten right away. Our table split some Guac and some queso. Portions on those were huge. Love that they serve sangrita. A frozen Margarita and sangria combo. YUM!I was so full, I just got some appetizer taquitos for an entree. They were good, but I've had better.

Came here on a business lunch and the food was FANTASTIC. Best Mexican food I've had in a while. They don't skimp out on the flavor, portions, or presentation. Everything was perfect. I'll definitely be back.

Overall spot was a 9/10 for me. I ordered (3) crunchy tacos, one shredded chicken, refried beans, a rice. My two beef tacos were delicious, the taco shell extra crunchy (just how I like it) but when I tried to bite into my shredded chicken taco it was a No for me. The meat either is not being cooked in a crockpot or they just rushed it out to service me. It was so tough I had to pull it out of my teeth that's really annoying because I wanted to try it. I did request to speak with the manager then my server came out and asked, Did I not wanna pay for my food. I politely replied, Of course I'm going to pay however can the one taco be removed from my bill? She then said, I could give you a discount. I excepted that option. Left my tip, and paid the tab.

We love us some El Rincon. This time we both had the Tilapia with Poblano sauce, with julienned vegetables and rice. It was delicious! The waitstaff was very friendly and efficient. We were there to dine a little after the regular lunch hour, so it was pretty quite and pleasant. Looking forward to going again this Friday when we meet up with some friends.

First things first: THE BARMy bartender, Ana, is absolutely amazing! Besides being GORGEOUS, she makes a spectacular margarita and is so friendly, warm, and welcoming!Second, the food: honestly, I can't even find words to describe it! I had beef tacos al carbon, and the beef was so incredibly flavorful and tender, it literally melts in your mouth. The caramelized onions and sautéed peppers are so perfect and plentiful. And dear Lord, the homemade flour tortillas are absolutely addictive: soft, full of flavor, and beautifully toasted. The accompanying guacamole is exceptional, so creamy and perfectly balanced with onions, tomatoes, and lime juice. The salsa is PERFECT (is there a better word??)!!! The chips are yellow corn, so fresh, so flavorful, so crispy, and out of this world!! Even the charro beans and Spanish rice are excellent!!Do you get the idea?? El Rincon is a MUST VISIT Mexican Restaurant in NW Dallas, off I-35E and Beltline in Carrollton. You will not regret it!!
