Nicaraguan food is good but at this place, I was disappointed. Flavors and seasonings are off. Gone here three times and been let down all 3 times.

Summary: A delicious, family owned hole-in-the-wall, that has meals that you will day dream about for daysFull Review: If you have ever craved authentic Nicaraguan home cooked meals or if you seek to expand your palate with some amazing Latin food that doesn't include a taco shell, El Oasis should definitely be one of places to dine before kick the bucket. As far as the decor goes, there is nothing special about this place. It's a clean and simple setup with plenty of seating for couples and big parties alike. Although the restaurant was mostly full, the atmosphere was parallel to that of sitting at home and enjoying a meal while watching a muted tv or listening to some relaxing music. The waiters are made up of a father and son duo and the chef is none other than mom. You'll be treated with nothing less than big smiles and a desire for you to enjoy your meal. The meals consist of large portions, a plethora of inexpensive choices, and all of them packed with lots of flavor. The Nacatamal (Nicaraguan tamale) is out of this world; chunks of chicken and pork with some potato, rice, and a few veggies all wrapped up in banana leaf. The Sopa de Res (Beef soup) was huge and packet with veggies. Rice and white corn tortillas included with the soup. You mix the rice into the soup when you are about to eat it. The queso frito (fried cheese) is delicious by itself or with a salad. It's a white cheese with a sponge-like texture and a high melting point, making it great for frying. As far as payment, they accept all major forms of payment.

It's not best but close enough. "Gallopinto" rice taste like "Minute Rice" and the fried cheese are small portion, must request for an additional.

It is a blessing to have a Nicaraguan restaurant in Irving close to Dallas. The place is spotless, service was great and most importantly the quality of the food was great! Definitely coming back. 5 stars for sure. I had the carne asada nica (Nicaraguan grilled steak).

I moved to the Dallas area in July 2018 and found this restaurant online and got extremely excited because I love Nicaraguan food!!!! I was not disappointed. We went in a group of 6 people and everything we ordered was delicious. It's a small mom and pop type restaurant and the service and food was great! Hope to return soon!

The employees are very nice there the waitress that helped us was very nice, her name was Michelle. Now the food was ok nothing too much to brag about. The reason we wanted to come here was because my dad is from Nicaragua and we don't have any Nicaragua restaurants here in Texas. So we tried the baho and that was ok, portion was very little for the price. We also tried the nacatamale and that was good. Overall we ended up spending about $60 for 2 Bahos, 4 nacatamales, and 3 pupusas. And of course our special drinks which was cacao and a pink drink my dad got. I also found out they recently opened in February so I would give them another chance. What I did like also was that they were very open for feedback! They also accept debit cards now so that's a plus!

I grew up on Fritanga and this place is not worth the drive, time and money. Very disappointing experience. Very poor Nicaraguan Cuisine. Will not recommend this to anybody or go back. I rather fly to Miami and enjoy real Fritanga
