El Mexicano Grille

I have nothing but good things to say from my visit. I did take a look at some reviews before coming but i was going to eat here regardless. Sometimes you cant let the reviews dictate your experience!!It is clear that El Mexicano has been around for quite some time and i think that says enough. They have certainly made some changes throughout the years, they no longer have an open outdoor patio like they use to but instead it's an enclosed patio now so you are still kind of outside but not really. That is also where the entrance is, can be misleading a little bit because it doesn't quite look like the front door. The menu is extensive with several pages of drinks and food. The prices were great, the service was great and the food was fantastic! My tacos tasted like they were straight out of the taqueria and were packed with so much flavor. The drinks were made to perfection.

Good food and menu choices . Good service. Easy location. Sat in the enclosed porch area.

Went here for late lunch after doing business at a title office close by.I ordered the lunch special and my wife the tampiquano plate a margarita and a couple of beers salsa chips good the food was great service excellent and the price decent will return again. Note:I see a lot of picture posts on yelp with negative experiences...but they all look like old dates, Give it a try now might be better.

Both salsas were flavorful, and while the chips were a bit on the thicker side, they were still enjoyable. I ordered the #4 El Tampiqueño, which comes with a cheese enchilada, steak, beans, and rice. The steak was excellent--tender and full of flavor. The cheese enchilada with gravy was just okay, and the beans and rice were pretty average, nothing special. My husband had the taco and enchilada plate, which he said reminded him of a TV dinner. It seems the quality can really vary depending on what you order. I have a feeling their fajitas are probably amazing, and I plan to try them next time!

Came in on Saturday for a quick bite and cold drinks after the market. The patio is large, covered, multiple tv's, and air conditioned which is great to beat the heat. We tried the Cazuelita (Saturday special) that had refreshing tequila, grapefruit, and fresh fruit, with a spicy straw and tajin rim. We enjoyed the chips and salsa and the crispy tacos. The shells tasted fresh with loads of meat, cheese, lettuce, and tomatoes. The ladies were friendly, quick, and accommodating. We will be back!

Lunch specials on Saturday and Sunday after 3 pm. Talented Mariachi band. Fun and authentic atmosphere

I came here with my family to celebrate my brother's birthday and I did feel impressed. The waiter wasn't checking up on us as much as we wished. I ordered the azteca plate and it was delicious! I love the theme of it all as well, and I loved sitting outside too.

NASTY! Just REALLY NASTY! Post a bad review for this place and the owner will have his staff bully you all over YELP and FACEBOOK if you share it! The food is truly bad, despite what you read, I suspect many post good reviews because they are friends, family or employees. Drinks all come from a mix and are gritty and watery. The food is bland or just one note, takeout is cold to Luke warm and often is just thrown into the takeout container, you'll lose weight eating here by going hungry. Chips are even stale or sometimes appear to be burned from taking them from tables where they aren't finished and warming them multiple times. Please let this place close down Ennis needs good restaurants and this one isn't good at all. Bring on the haters!

I got food poisoning from eating here so I highly recommend not to bring anybody here especially children! Service was also poor, took 15-20mins for someone to take my order and over an 1hr to receive my food sadly. The ambience was very nice but I felt like it was all a disguise after what I had experienced. Definitely won't be a returning customer and I hope it shed light for the ones who were interested on dining here!

Picked up wife from work today and took her here. Was disappointed with lunch my meal was lacking flavor but looked good my wife's was ok.
