Very chill spot to relax on the patio! During TX summers, no one willingly sits outside - if we can sit indoors in the A/C. But we actually enjoy late eves on this patio; the fan makes it nice! The patio is smaller than Lee Harveys or Dots, but more enclosed so it seems more intimate. Interesting beer signs abound. Kinda looks like the Big D version of Luckenbach, TX!Bartender Curt/Kirk (?) is friendly and casual, the drinks are strong, and the vibe is relaxed. Way slower pace than DE mainstays. For a relaxing break; stop here!

This place is great. They sell Malort, so 5/5. It's a great bar to get a drink at before entering the Texas State Fair.

What can I say about Eight Bells that hasn't been said previously. I'm so glad this spot was not lost to some random D-bag, hipster bar. The patio here is one of the best in Dallas. Why? It's size isn't too large or small ( TWSS). They have the perfect late night lighting. Because of it's size, it doesn't attract the mass crowds of outsiders that can ruin a cool spot. I've never had a bad time here. It's location to a couple other places within walking distance make it a great place to be. Even thought I haven't eaten here yet, they have a food menu and I've heard good things.Parking: Limited. Uber/Lyft, 1/2 block from the Dart rail station.

I went in November with 2 other friends we were killing time before a show. The waitresses were decorating or preparing for a party. Chatting amongst themselves. They told us to seat ourselves. We did. We sat and we waited. We waited some more. After 15 minutes we left and went somewhere else. I learned that they ignore everyone whether you are alone or with a group. Great place to go if you want to have an existential crisis. Still can't comment on the food since I never tasted it.

I was sad to see the Amsterdam Bar close, yet the newest spot Eight Bells Alehouse from the same owners of the Ten Bells in Bishop Arts is a welcome addition to the Exposition area of Dallas. The food is creative and very tasty. I find this is my go to spot for a relaxing afternoon on the patio or just indoors with friends. The inside was redecorated and reminds me of some places I used to visit in New York City's lower east side. Definitely a must if you like the sister Ten Bells or if you want a good conversation spot or an inventive menu.

I really loved the Amsterdam bar back in its heyday. Glad to see the owners of Ten Bells transform this place back to its glory. Well, they are still remodeling, but decided to go ahead and open. The inside still needs a little work, but the bar is all new and shiny and the kitchen is open for business. We only stopped in for a drink, but did get to check out the back patio. Swanky. The best part is the patio opens up to the parking lot. No more parking in the back and walking all the way around to get inside. I look forward to many more visits here and putting this place back on rotation.

I am from Houston and stumbled upon this bar one night using the Pokemon Go app. I decided to go inside. It was a slow night. There were only about 2 other people inside. Each were quiet and just drinking on their own. I let them be and made conversation with the bartender who happened to be the owner. very nice guy. I asked him about their craft beer selection and he was happy to tell me about each one; the worst thing is when you feel like a nuisance. This is a punk bar vibe with skeleton decor. They have a big Trex statue outside their door to greet you. Many other bars within walking distance. Check this place out.

Sad to see Amsterdam Bar go, but Eight Bells is a fantastic replacement! First, surprisingly one of the best attractions in the place is the re-done Mens Room. It just is really cool looking. Go there for that, stay for the drinks. If you can, shoot for a Thursday through Sunday night and you may be lucky enough to talk to Khurk, one of the co-owners and bartender. Just the coolest guy every, super nice, and makes a helluva drink! One of the best D/FW patios, and with a great finish-out when they took over the property, it is definitely an "anchor store" for the Expo Park area. You can make a great pub crawl down there!
