First time to dine here. Moved to the area and trying all the places to eat. I'm a foodie, I would usually go out to eat in Fort Worth. I have found Stephenville has no places like FW. Meaning it's all pretty basic places to eat out here. Well here's the good news. Don Nico's was damn good. Outside of the building looks pretty drab. Inside is festive, reminds me of Market Square San Antonio. Maybe a little too festive. lol Customer service was great, fast and friendly. We had combination number 1.Two enchiladas, a taco and a cheese taco. It was great. I'm super picky about my enchiladas and they were exactly the style I love. Salsa was actually super spicy and I liked that, chips seemed to be house made were decent. They were not served hot, but that's ok. I'm not saying I would go for the fajitas as they didn't look up to my standards. Might try em later. But I do love these enchiladas!

I don't understand the draw to this place. To me, the food was bland and didn't have any familiar flavors. Their chips seemed stale, and their queso was a weird consistency like it came out of a can. The waitress came three times: to take our order, to bring the food, and then to drop off the check. Glasses sat empty, and we flagged down someone else for a refill. It was super loud and crowded inside as well. I get that different people like different things, but I can't figure out why locals flock here as, at best, their food and service are just mediocre. The food was edible but just lacked flavor. Many people had alcoholic beverages, which might be the big thing here. I don't drink, so I was there only for the food and to see why their parking lot was always full. I love Mexican cuisine but just not this place. My Lingleville burrito was big and came out quickly, but it had weird tasteless tiny chopped pieces of peppers inside which didn't add anything to the non-existent flavor. I expected more with the list of ingredients and the dual meats inside. Also, I had ordered it with sour cream sauce, and it came out with the icky queso topping it. The waitress and her helper kinda dropped the food off and ran.My dad had their Benny's meal and ate less than half of it, saying the sour cream sauce was bland and tasteless and that the chicken inside wasn't good. My girlfriend had a chimichanga which was too packed with shredded meat that tasted like it had been stewed in a crockpot. It was unsettling how much meat was inside this barely fried thing. We experienced it and think we'll stick with our regular Mexican food place. I was disappointed, to say the least, especially since this place has two locations. The only two things I enjoyed were their flour tortillas, which I don't believe they made, and their refried beans, which strangely were full of flavor. The place was decorated nicely with lots of colors, and I liked the chair decorations. The waitress was nice, just absent.Adding to the confusion, the parking situation is a nightmare. It's always packed, but I can't understand why anyone would wait for a spot just to eat here. The atmosphere, while colorful, does little to make up for the lackluster food and service. Overall, it was an underwhelming experience, and I won't be returning.

Good food and good service. I was hung up on the layered dip, now I am hung up on the lunch chicken flautas. They have very good chips and salsa too.

This past Thursday night, we decided to finally stop down and try this place out. We were not disappointed. Don Nico's has traditional and tasty Tex-Mex, and the portions were OMG! If you leave this place hungry, that's your fault. As with any Tex-Mex restaurant, you start off judging by the chips and salsa. Don Nico's passed the test with their chips and salsa! Very friendly service, also! The place is small, but the menu is not. We will be back!

Passed by Don Nicos quite a few times and parking lot alway full. Decided to stop and try it out last time through Stephenville. Salsa is very good. Wife got combo fajitas and meat was very tender. Could have used a bit more seasoning but that can be just a matter of how you like it. She was not disappointed with her meal. I had the Mole Mexicano which was very good. Chicken was shredded which was different but not bad. Both meals had refuted beans and rice which both were good. Tortillas came out piping hot and rolled in tin foil. Best place I have eaten Mexican food in Stephenville. We will go back again when passing through.

We are visiting for the week and I am a Mexican food concoisseur so decided to give it a try. Upon arriving the outside looks sketchy, but the inside was fun and festive. We were greeted and sat immediately, as there was only 1 other table being occupied. We ordered our drinks, but were surprised they did not sell alcohol (no big deal, but I like a great margarita). The water-a hard pass, get a soft drink. We had queso as an appetizer, it tasted like a mix of canned nacho cheese and Campbells nacho cheese soup... skip this! Our food came out relatively quickly. The kids burger and adult burger are the same exact size but the cost is different by $2.50. The kids consumed the burger and enjoyed it as they are basic and do not have high standards for food. It just a regular frozen patty grilled, nothing fancy; reminded me of a burger served at my school when I was younger. Chicken tenders, for my child who LOVES branching out , were less tasty than Tyson frozen chicken tenders. The Lingleville Burrito was HUGE, approximately the size of my forearm (both length and thickness). It came we beans, rice, cheese, fajita meat, sour cream, pico and guac. I had it without pico, I could definitely taste rice and beans! It was basically a bean burrito with a garnishing of sour cream, guac and meat. Still decent, but only finished half. My husband got the same thing without beans. His was full of meat, way better than mine. We were starving and the burrito filled the emptiness of my stomach, not something to go back for though. Overall, we were all fed and were happy with the service. They also have an assortment of Mexican candy for purchase... the kids and I loved that the best.

Good food good prices and serving sizes are large. Our waitress today could have paid more attention to our order, but instead we had to repeat portions of our order a few times until we got it mostly right

Big surprise. The food is excellent. Chile relleno one of the best I've ever had. Fresh chips and salsa. The half order of nachos was huge.
