Davis Street Espresso

Espresso drinks are amazing for both the traditional drinker and those who love Starbucks!Service was okay, they forgot to make my girlfriend's drink as an iced beverage and when I asked them about it, they sort of gaslighted me and told me that they'll check the receipt to see if that was what was ordered. They ended up making it again anyways which I appreciated. Ambiance is amazing and would definitely come again! Not sure if I would recommend ordering an iced drink though.

Looking over some of the reviews, I feel that many people aren't expecting the experience one gets at Davis Street. It's really kind of a "coffee geek" kind of place, where one comes to really get to the essence of actual coffee, and not the kind of stuff that comes from Starbucks or the like. This place was recommended by members of an online coffee forum as a place where I could get a really good tasting straight up espresso. No sweetener, no milk, just a little ol' shot of super strong coffee drawn under pressure. And they delivered!I spoke to the barista working the machine (a big three group lever machine), and he's definitely a fellow coffee geek. I watched as he measured the coffee dose to the tenth of a gram, and used an Acaia Lunar scale on the drip tray as he pulled the shot to get the yield just right. They had their normal espresso blend from Oak Cliff Coffee Roaster, plus another from a different roaster as their premium offering. I tried one of each, and both were quite nice, especially the premium one. Each was served in a "proper" service, a small espresso glass with a sparkling water chaser. Thick, rich, and delicious! No bitterness or astringency, they were both just right. When my wife looked for sweetener and cream for her pot of tea, she discovered that this place, well, really focuses on the coffee and tea :) They have one communal container of turbinado sugar and a pitcher of half and half, and that's it. No "alt milk", no sugar substitutes, just the bare minimum. Again, this place is really aimed at true coffee lovers,. I'd gladly visit this place again, they're putting out a great product!

My boyfriend and I love exploring coffee shops in Dallas and stumbled upon this one when looking for places in BA. We both loved it here! I got the special of a chocolate chai which was delicious. My boyfriend got a cold brew which he said he really liked. I got the buttered toast which they put a perfect amount of flakey salt on and my boyfriend the toast and wild berry jam. We both really enjoyed these options! Service was great the barista was helpful in answering questions. Will definitely come back if in the area!

Love the warm atmosphere and friendly people!! Coffee was excellent - hot vanilla Latte. Nice smooth flavor! I chose a cinnamon roll and it was scrumptious. I really wanted to ask to warm it up but sat and started eating it and I would have to say it was one of the best cinnamon rolls I ever ate. Although it didn't look gooey like you expect them to the flavor was wonderful and the dough light and fluffy. I'd be a regular!!

I love this place! It's a drive from McKinney but I do make sure to go from time to time. The coffee is incredible and so are the pastries and breakfast items. Service is friendly and it's a very fun atmosphere.

On my way to Austin I looked up this place on google. They do not do to go cups for coffee. You buy a mason jar, or simply make a deposit for one, and can bring it back next time you want coffee to go. I also bought a loaf of bread and banana bread. Everything was fresh and tasty. And I loved the decor and friendly staff.

First time coming in here and Went around 9 in the morning on a Saturday and no line, cashier was very friendly and helpful. The selection of pastries and bread looked amazing. I love the coffee and merch they had available. They also had a private seating area outside as well. Definitely 10/10. Great vibes all around. Can't wait to come by again

Cinnamon rolls were great. Jam on their toast was great. Cappuccino was better than Starbucks. Atmosphere was great Service was great. Prices were reasonable.

Coffee is is great. Service can be a bit slow during bust times. Outdoor seating is next to the shop so away from the street traffic. Plenty of seating indoor and outdoor.

Coffee is always good and really thats all I can really ask for, I really like the fact that it's a local business that supports local farmers. However, I've been less inclined to visit because more often than not I struggle with the service I've received. There's about an even split on friendly and not so friendly staff. I really wanted to love this place, but it's too inconsistent so I just stay away. It's fine since I'm not from the area, but only adds to the disappointment I suppose.
