Dallas Tamales Cafe

This place is small and decorated with piñatas hanging down from the ceiling. I thought it was a cute Mexican vibe! The food was good. We had breakfast tacos and they were authentic with a good spicy salsa. We bought some chicharones which were good but a tad bit on the dry side. The service was good and prompt. You order at the register and then they bring food to your table. I'll definitely be back to try other items on their menu!

You have heard of the Leal family. They are a family of restauranteurs. They have a foundation of authentic recipes from Michoacán, Mexico. They know how to spice food whether it is Tex-Mex or Mexican dishes. The only thing you'll reach to add is some of their delicious hot sauce.The Dallas Tamales Café opened in 2004 by Raul Jr. partnered with his brother-in-law, "Eddie." At The Dallas Tamales Café, I had some of the best menudo, tamales, puffy tacos, guacamole, beans and rice! Everything was delicious and service is on point.If you have never made tamales or avoid doing so because of the prep - go get you one of their kits. This place is forth any drive that it may take you.

The food was fantastic. Tasted all homemade. The puffy tacos are as good, if not better, than what I had in San Antonio

Really good Authentic Mexican Food!This is a small hole in the wall place that smells so delicious right when you walk in.They have it all: breakfast tacos, Mexican sweet bread, menudo, pozole, & other breakfast plates. They have a great lunch with tacos, tamales, gorditas, enchiladas, & so much more!They have so many drink options to choose from: horchata, AMAZING lemonade, & lots of Mexican sodas in liter & 20 oz sodas! Every table gets chips & 2 salsas (green & red) & the red salsa is delicious! We got the small menudo with fresh made flour tortillas! I also grabbed one pork tamale & one bacon ,egg,& cheese breakfast taco. All good!I can't wait to go back & try some tacos or a breakfast plate like huevos rancheros. I also grabbed 1/4 pound of fresh Chicharróns & they were warm & good. Tip: bring cash because they may charge more if you use card, we took cash.

Amazing huevos rancheros. The day I had my baby, after labor.... I sent my husband here to get me their huevos rancheros so it could be my first meal with my new baby. The food is THAT good. The inside is fun and colorful. Their tamales are great. The tortillas and everything is freshly made. If you want authentic Mexican food and comfort food stop here. You won't regret it

Excellent authentic Mexican food. This place is a hidden local treasure. 5 stars. This is restaurant but they also have a small grocery story inside.

Don't go anywhere else for your breakfast tacos, huevos rancheros, migas, pozole, or menudo! This place has been around forever and there's a reason! They're just good. Service is always excellent. Tortillas are always hot. Guacamole is always fresh.

Great Food & Great Service and a great place to go and eat with family and on Sunday after church services

They no longer give complimentary salsa when you order tamales to go. That should be a crime. For $18 a dozen should be included. Other than that, service has been good. Food is normally good.
