Dining at Dakota's Steakhouse was an upscale culinary experience from start to finish. The ambiance exudes elegance, making it the perfect spot for a refined night out. From the moment we arrived, the service was impeccable--our server, Nick, provided top-tier recommendations, and he was absolutely right about the Island Hopper. It was a standout choice, packed with flavor and perfectly executed.Every dish we tried showcased high-quality ingredients and expert preparation, solidifying Dakota's as a must-visit for steakhouse lovers. If you're looking to dine in style while indulging in some of the best food in town, Dakota's Steakhouse is the place to be.

I went to Dakota's on Friday night for a nice dinner with my boyfriend. We don't go out like this often, so it was meant to be a special night. When we arrived, the atmosphere was nice, and our server was very polite. We started with the calamari and shrimp appetizer, which was amazing. After that, we had high hopes for the rest of the meal.When our entrees arrived, I had ordered the 8 oz filet, and they asked me to cut into it to ensure it was cooked correctly. I had requested medium-rare, but what I received was completely raw. (For context, I have a culinary background, so I understand what a true medium-rare steak should be.) I asked them to cook it longer, and when they brought it back, the outside was charred, but the inside was still raw. At that point, I requested a completely new filet.When the new steak arrived, I cut into it and immediately noticed an odd texture. I told them it was fine to avoid further back-and-forth, but when I took a bite, it was awful. It had the texture of ground beef, with visible blood spots. The outer half-inch was overcooked, while the rest was severely undercooked, and it had no seasoning at all. I complained again because I had never had such a poor experience at any steakhouse.At that point, someone I assume was a manager came over and said, "I just wanted to let you know we serve Allen Brothers meat, which is the highest quality you'll find. In my 30 years here, I've never had someone send a steak back twice." He then went on to say that while he wasn't going to tell me I was wrong, "we may just have different opinions on what medium-rare is, and you should probably order something else."At that point, I just ordered a salad--I wasn't going to pay $70 for a steak that wasn't cooked properly. What made the situation even more disappointing was that they didn't offer to comp anything or provide anything to make up for the experience. I never expect a free meal, but after failing to get my filet right twice, they could have at least comped my $15 salad.This was truly a disappointing experience. I came to a steakhouse for a steak, yet I ended up eating a salad. I had high hopes for Dakota's, but after this experience, I won't be returning.

The restaurant's unique underground entrance--accessed by an elevator at the valet station--sets the tone for an upscale, exclusive experience. Inside, the candlelit ambiance is elegant and intimate, making it perfect for a special night out.The food? Phenomenal. Every bite was perfection, easily the best meal I've ever had. The service was impeccable, and the complimentary valet made the evening even smoother. If you're looking for a fancy, unforgettable dinner in Dallas, this is the place. Highly recommend!

Loveeeddd. Loveeedd my time here! Don't sweat looking for a place to park.. just pull up and there's valet In the front ready to take your keys. Valet is complementary. My server was reshawn, he was very knowledgeable and happy to be there! He helped us choose different drink and food! I know the food is not pictured, I totally forgot and got caught up in my conversations with my hunnie..We had..Salads they were both good and even though I got the half I was full. I also added wild mushrooms on the side, and they were chef's kiss.Everything was intimate and mellow/ down to earth.. I honest and wait to go back

Dakota's was the perfect spot for our Valentine's Day dinner! Since we both work Friday, we decided to celebrate early, and it did not disappoint. The entrance alone was a cool experience--taking the elevator down into the restaurant set the tone for a unique night.We arrived a little early for our reservation but were seated right away. The ambiance was really nice, and the service was on point from the start. The bread service was fantastic, and the butter? Good as heck.I went with the New York strip and grilled asparagus. The steak was cooked perfectly with a great crust--just how I like it. The asparagus was thick and grilled well, but it could've used a bit more seasoning. My husband ordered the lamb chops and corn elote, and both were a hit. I stole a bite of his lamb, and honestly, it was the best I've ever had.For drinks, I had a glass of Malbec, which was rich and full-bodied, and my husband got an old fashioned that was spot-on.Overall, it was a great experience, and we'll definitely be back--I've got my eye on a few other menu items I need to try!

Great service, very attentive staff. The drinks were amazing, and the sides were the show stoppers. Warming they are very big so do not get 1 side per person, it is more of a sharing with the table format. We got the fries (best fries in the world), loved the au grantin potatoes, brussel sprouts, and Mac and cheese. For appetizers, we got the calamari and crab claws which came with the most amazing sauce. It had citrus in it that complemented the crab very well. The steaks, on the other hand, did not meet up to my expectation. It was not seasoned that well. However it was cooked very well. The sides paired well with the steak. Food overall was good, and service was amazing. Might only come again if I was in the area.

Dakotas valentines pre fix menu was great! Started with the caviar crab cake and truffle risotto, followed by the perfect steak frites, and ending the night with a perfectly sweet strawberry shortcake and rich fudge cake. The pianist set the right ambiance and service was ... not many accommodations for purse holder or table side vase. But other than that great experience! Add it to next years valentines dinner reservations.

Everything was great! Our server Julio O is amazinggggg. 5/5 service. He explained the menu very well and gave us recommendations. I told him alcohol I liked, he suggested the Paradise found and it was perfect. The staff is so welcoming. A lot to chose from on the menu. Ambiance was nice, very classy romantic. Valet parking. I originally found this steakhouse on a random google search when my fiancé and I visited Dallas 3 years ago, and I'm so glad I stumbled across it! Everything from the crab cake lollipops, sides, and my favorite: the beef wellington is immaculately prepared. Of course the bill is pricey, but that is the expectation when dining at an upscale restaurant. The complimentary valet parking, the elevator entrance, the piano, and the waterfall all give this restaurant that extra push towards a lavish experience. If the food wasn't reason enough to come here, the staff is just as incredible. Everyone is helpful and goes above and beyond to accommodate your needs. They decorated the table for our anniversary, took lots of photos for us, and even ran after us when I left a souvenir I purchased earlier behind at our table. Whenever we have family in town and we want to make them feel like royalty, we take them to Dakota's.
