D. Smith's Chicken & Fish

Fresh out of Six flags and needed some fresh food . Just so happened to stumble on to D Smith chicken and fish after I had been having this saved for quite some time . There was not a long wait here at all on a Saturday night . A small and quaint place , but suitable for a crowd of 10. There's isn't much seating here. Their menu is pretty simple and easy to read. Fish and chicken options served with fries /hush puppies. They also have dessert options which I do not get to try. I opted for the 2 piece catfish fillet combo and I enjoyed my meal. Seasoned fries were fresh and not soggy or hard .nothing extra or outstanding to add there but the fish itself stood out. Two big fillets seasoned well and very fresh. Breading had a nice crunch and inside was soft and not dry. This was made fast, so it was a quick experience. I'll update my review on my next visit.

I just don't like how they run things, it's giving greedy & stingy. For wings, you have to order a 10pc in order to get multiple flavors. Considering that, they gave me NO ranch. When I asked for it, they literally gave me half of a container. WTF am I supposed to do with this?

Got my fish fix for sure. Massive catfish filets dropped and fried to order. These filets were Freshly battered and seasoned. Fries were fresh and also seasoned as well. It was pretty slow and quiet but I believe from heavy rain. They weren't the most bubbly but I did get a greeting from lady taking my order. I'd recommend giving this place a try. I believe if they keep cooking like this we'll have a line to wait in. Thanks D. Smith!

Whoever said that this was the best catfish you've ever had you're LIAR !!!!Was craving some catfish Google this place stopped by BUT something told me I should have just made my own catfish at home smh!!!SO I made my order for pickup at 6:11 I arrive at 6:17 and my order is absolutely "lukewarm" ... The fries feel like they were placed in the microwave tossed in some seasoning and dump into the Togo container...NEVER AGAIN .... I wouldnt recommend this to nobody !! For the lack of black owned businesses and the lack of catfish anywhere in Arlington y'all should be ashamed to have this as a business... Sorry but it's the truth

I've been here a few times and always order to go, it's ambiance is not really a place you dine in with the family. They make the food to order so there's a bit of a wait, but it's definitely got some flavors and combinations going on that nobody else is offering in the city. Only complaint is the corn fritters were super greasy, and there needed to be more fish in the fish and chicken combo plate, but other than its not sooo bad. You just have to try and rate it for yourself.

Super disappointed. The chicken tenders were so dry and rubbery. The Mac n cheese tastes like kraft Mac n cheese. The ambiance inside is -5/10. There are two tables and they are dirty and have crumbs all over them.

Customer service was horrible. The lady doesn't greet customers at all whatsoever when walking in, just sit there with the ugliest mug on her face. They only have 2 tables in the facility & both were dirty with crumbs all over it. Me & my husband were the only two customers & the cashier didn't even bother to wipe the table down for us. Set there & was on her phone the whole time. Fish is mediocre , fried was soggy & flavorless & wings has little to no flavor. I was recommended to go here & was highly disappointed. I was told it's a family business & you can definitely tell cause they are too comfortable with giving their customers the bare minimum service.

Awe man I used to love this place, but let's say something was "fishy in the cobbler". So sad to post this, but it's a food quality issue and they have to see this. I know I can't get a refund now (uber eats delivered). I had to share this issue. I've eaten there plenty of times with no issue. This was the first time I ordered the peach cobbler. It smelled putrid! I never got to eat any of the food. Some instructions for the potato were wrong but not a big deal. Three days later and I still can't get the smell out of my trash (soaking it twice). Either the fish was bad or the cobbler had some fish in it (like it seemed they were in the same container at some point or something). I'm shocked. I didn't rate it right away because I didn't eat it right that small uber eats 30 minute window (kept it in the bag on the counter). Something was absolutely bad that day. I couldn't chance eating any of it. They are so affordable. I did put in the instructions to just add crab no shrimp to the potato because the shrimp is fried and I can't eat that and they still did. I usually get the funnel cake as a dessert; but it's irrelevant when something has gone bad it just has! I opened the cobbler lid and I'm just shocked. It looked normal but even my dog was shocked (sorry). Just putrid (no cobbler even old would smell like that). I really loved this place, they offer something unique that I would ordinarily have to drive across town for, but now... I just can't. I can't even look a the pictures. Just for notes, this was on the 16th (Jan). Maybe they can pinpoint something from that day. Otherwise I can't patronize there anymore I put 3 because it started out good. It's 3 days later and my trash can is still soaking from that day.

Garbage if I say so myself. Little itty bitty shkrimp and overcooked like 3 bite steak with no flavor. Let's not mention the SOUR garlic parm sauce. Don't know what I was expecting lol

Well a place that advertises catfish should sell catfish or at least advertise the real fish they selling. Stingy with the fries. But the seasoning is on point.
