Delicious! They don't call it Soul Food for nothing. It's like coming home so fitting the decor looks like a house. The service is always friendly.

We went here late one night and the staff was super friendly and nice. The wings were good and I truly enjoyed the fries. The good news is this place stays open late at night.

Ok, so the reviews were right about them not having things . But'terem..I digress..the fried chicken wings, and chopped beef sandwich SMACKED!!! The wing dings were cooked old school and completely fresh to order ( like RAW, I saw homie put the seasoning on my wings). Seasoned just like Gma did back in the day (not the extra stuff we do today ), perfect .That chopped beef was a huge portion!! It just needs a little more BBQ sauce.Just a little advice, your customer service is on P.O.I.N.T. and your food is VERY GOOD. I think this place could really do well and pop if the owner put some more love and care into this business. You can't be a soulfood spot and missing the soulfood...a little bit.‍ Plus, it would go a long way to clean the oil trays. Although my food didn't taste like burnt oil, it's old.

NOT AUTHENTIC SOUL FOOD! It was a white lady cooking and the food was not good! Dirty place, hair in my food, raw and spoiled chicken wings and nasty flavorless sides. I got the fried sampler, red beans and rice and cornbread special, and a small side of greens. The chicken wings in the sampler were rancid and undercooked, the grease and fryers were not clean and you can tell in the taste and the to go boxes don't have vent holes so it will get soggy fast, so be advised. I was specifically looking to support a Black business and the "authentic soul food" on the sign seemed promising but I was very disappointed. The service was slow because it was the lady taking orders' second day working, but she was nice enough and I'm patient so I forgave that. The place smelled overwhelmingly of old grease I had to stand outside because it was making me feel sick. I tasted the sides before leaving and wasn't even going to leave a review because I was tryna be nice and just take it home and try to fix them up but they were beyond saving and hair in the food, spoiled chicken and cleanliness just needs to be talked about. The lady was wearing a hair net, so I'll give her that, but she had no business in the kitchen. The only flavor the red beans and rice had was sugar!! I tried to season them up but the sweetness was just too much, the rice was mushy and the beans were suspiciously red...like food coloring red40 bright red. The greens were not chopped you can see it's like whole leaves, and I did taste them and pour out some of the water they were sitting in before these pictures, that's how I found the hair...and they tasted disgusting! No flavor they were literally just boiled and bitter and drowning in flavorless water. The tartar sauce was also very sweet. I'm not sure if that white lady was Clara or if there's a different cook but this was so bad an old white man came up and had to ask for salt and pepper for his food...now that's how you know there's zero flavor! They need a Black person in the kitchen or at least someone who can cook, and to deep clean the fryers, use clean oil, and clean the grease off the walls. I tried everything and everything was bad except the cornbread and fried pickles..but they came from a dirty fryer/kitchen sooooo....Not going back! I hope I don't get sick.

1st I would like to say that I have ordered from Clara's several times and have even highly recommended them to friends and clients. The will no longer be a recommendation or restaurant used by anyone in my family. We ordered to catfish meals and an oxtail and rice through UberEats and picked it up at the front door as the delivery driver was walking away. After taking one bite my daughter found a fried dead beetle in her fish plate. I immediately went online and asked Uber eats to have my money refunded because we all were disgusted and none of us felt the need to eat our food after the experience. I was only refunded $27.06 of the $69.60 spent. Not ok in my book. The gesture is simply not good enough. If you serve bugs in your food and someone discovers it...you should fully refund them.

I ordered the catfish plate which was truly amazing. I will be going back. Staff is extremely amazing and friendly. Atmosphere is awesome

Got my food fast. The meats are great. Got the fried pickles, my fav. Wife never liked fried pickles, this time she was begging me for more.The sides and pies need help.Cabbage is more like kimchi, expecting something a little more fatback and butter style. Wasn't bad, just not my expectation.The sweet corn.... Could not eat it. Tasted all kinds of weird, hint of butter and and garlic that quickly morphs into a sour musty flavor. The corn also served in a goo like sauce.Pies were flavorful, but a little under done. Sweet potato and chess filling where still a bit loose and dripping.Prices are amazingly affordable. Will be back.

This is by far the best food I've ever eaten. The catfish 10/10!!!! My picture doesn't do justice for just how good this food is. I deliver for ubereats on the weekends. And always pick up orders from here. So I had to see what the hype was about. And it definitely is good! The staff is also so amazing and always so friendly..

I may have been here on the wrong day... but I expected better. I had a smothered pork chop with Mac and cabbage. Huge pork chop but very tough... even with the gravy. Mac and cabbage were pretty ordinary. Wife ordered the fried sampler but everything was underwhelming for her. Chicken wings were not cooked through, pickles were soggy and mushy. While we sat waiting for our food, the whole place filled up with grease smoke. We still smell of old grease and it's been an hour since we left. I hope it is better for others and we just caught them on a bad day.

The food is amazing! The employees are so kind and took the time to explain the history of the restaurant. Overall, it is very inviting and you can tell the food is made with love! I'll definitely be returning!
