We were early to the airport for our flight back home, so we looked up restaurants using our map application. We were looking for a restaurant across the street, but it was closed due to the holiday (it was Black Friday). Then my wife spotted Cielito's on the other side of the street. We had previously lived in Texas for three years, and knew that most of the time, Mexican food is actually what they call Tex-Mex. Having significant experience with authentic Mexican food, we wanted anything other than Tex-Mex!When we walked into the restaurant, we could see that it would not be a Tex-Mex place. Yelp showed very good reviews, so we gave it a try.The server was a very sweet woman from Mexico ... she spoke English well, very gracious and conscientious. Seemed like she was tuned in to us and what we wanted. So, we asked her for recommendations. When she described the dishes, she herself seemed genuinely amazed at the quality and taste of the food she served every day. That's always a good sign. So, we ordered Mahi Mahi tacos and chicken enchiladas, and split the meals between us.Chips came out, and they were perfect. Warm, not too hot. Thick and crunchy, and crispy too. They were perfect. If I could design the perfect corn tortilla chip, that would have been it. And the salsa was the best I've ever tasted in a restaurant. Then the meal. The sauces were incredible. We found out that the cuisine was from the Mexican state of Puebla. Everything was perfect. The rice was very tasty, cooked perfectly. And the beans (charro beans) were also perfect. We could not have improved upon this meal. I didn't want the experience to end, the food was so good. After we paid the bill, as we were leaving, we got into a conversation with the owner, Omarr. What a nice man. We asked about the restaurant, how long it had been there, and just chatted. He agreed with us about the Tex-Mex deal, and we told him how much we enjoyed each dish.I told him I'd write a review for him, and he bowed in appreciation. Next time we're at DFW, we'll go again.I'm hoping that this review will entice those who've never had authentic Mexican food, to give it a try. I think it will be worth it. Oh and by the way, the prices were reasonable and fair.Service was excellent. We dined in.Meal type: Authentic Mexican (Lunch)Price per person: $15.00Atmosphere: Very nice. Clean, would make a great romantic evening date as well,

Very disappointing food and bad service as well (by which I mean slow).I'm actually shocked about how bad the food was considering these reviews. I wish we had gone to Hugo's instead. Ambiance was actually fine.

The food was horrible/trash/bland, zero flavor. The prices are outrageous for what you're getting. The salsa tastes like tomato soup. The fajita chicken is from a bag/frozen. I'd love to know what part of Mexico any of this food hails from? The taco truck at the gas station next to my house is literally 10 times better and a 10th of the price. I shouldn't even add a one star it was bad but the manager was nice though when tell her how awful the food was.

The atmosphere has a nice modern vibe to it. The food and drinks are quality. Our server was good but he seemed a little pre occupied.

The food and service here were excellent. My husband I stopped here on a weekday night to see a friend and enjoy a casual dinner and we were happy with our experience. The restaurant was clean, the server was incredibly kind, food came out at a reasonable time, and everything was delicious. Our favorite item was the Birria tacos, which had the perfect texture, weren't too greasy, and came with a wonderful consome. Would definitely come back next time I visit Ircin

On a Friday night, we expected this place to be busy, but it was so quiet, which was amazing! The inside of the restaurant is well organized, and I loved the greeter who helped us when we entered the restaurant. We were able to be helped rather quickly, and she explained the menu well. The menu is simple and not overwhelming. We were given chips and salsa, which were homemade as soon as we placed our order. The chips were really hard so I couldn't eat them and the salsa was okay. I ordered the chicken enchiladas with bean sauce. Chicken was bland so I had to add a lot of salsa for flavor. Beans and rice were really good though! The best part of our dinner was the chocolate tres leches cake which was soooo good! The server poured a chocolate sauce over it right before we ate it. YUM! Great place and good food!

Super expensive and extremely average. No way two people should pay 80 bucks for two meals and two margs. Rice and beans are cheap and should never cost 4 bucks to add. Cool eclectic vibe was extinguished quickly by extreme high prices and flavorless entrees. Sangria margs were good but should be 4.99 instead of 9 dollars. Could not detect any tequila at all. A beer and 30 bucks at Taco Bell would beat this by a bunch. Especially 50 bucks more. Waitress did great tho.

Loved this place! The ambiance is super cute and the service is great. I came here on a Monday dinner time so I have not experienced the weekend rush. I got the enchilada and it was amazing. Def recommend!

Everything about this place is special. The food is authentic so authentic that the rice served here is homestyle rice by far the best rice offered in any restaurant. That care taken with just a side dish shows how the main dishes go. All of the dishes are flavor, packed authentic, and the best representation of Mexico and her culinary presentation. Their service is amazing. The environment is relaxed and chill. The cocktails are amazing. The Mexican street corn is white corn. It doesn't get more Mexican than that that's the real deal!! DO NOT SLEEP on this place!
