Once in a while a place is so rich with atmosphere, story, and character that its potentially *negative* attributes are overcome by a sense of charm. As much as I wanted to be put off by the age and disrepair of the Cedar Hill Roller Rink, I found it enchanting. We came here at the invitation of a new friend who invited my GF to join a roller derby practice. This review is based entirely on that experience. In the parking lot of the Cedar Hill Roller Rink, I already felt like I was in a Netflix Original series about Roller Derby (see GLOW for reference), or possibly in a deleted scene from Back To The Future. The building, signage, parking, mailbox, entry, seating, and the rink itself, all feels vintage in some homage-inducing way.Because we were for practice, our introduction to the skating community here was very friendly and supportive. The team itself is intramural and led by a couple who are passionate about the sport and involve their entire family. My GF was instantly challenged by the skill of the other skaters (we didn't even know the rules of the game) but was made to feel welcome as part of the team. It was rather heartwarming. The facility itself was adequate for the needs of this sport, though had a certain cramped, very old school quality to it. The resin on the rink has some flaws, but is buffed and smooth. Concessions are available, nothing warm, and the staff was friendly and personable. Cedar Hill is quite close to Dallas, but still has an "in-the-country" vibe that was reflected in every imaginable way in the rink.Plus, they have an original Ms. Pac Man machine. What more needs to be said?I want to give three stars because some upgrades, new carpet, and the addition of some hot food would improve this place significantly. But, honestly, I enjoyed stepping into this other world so much that I don't think I need it to change to want to come back. Cedar Hill Roller RInk wins four stars from this reviewer. And, I want the rights to the Netflix Original...

There was a rat in the ceiling, there were holes in the wall, the staff was majorly disrespectful, when I told her about the rat she said "what does that have to do with me" I will be calling management ASAP. 0/10 do not recommend.

This place doesn't have an actual website. Instead they have a facebook page which is great if you use facebook but seriously unprofessional to anyone who doesn't use and has no intention of using social media. I'm not even bothering to visit the facility because aside from a facebook page which I can't access, I can find no information about their hours or pricing.

Skating indoors, 70s/80s atmospheric vibe with bright, black & strobe lights setting the roller disco tone.To find, the building from the outside is white, and there's gravel & grass parking available. To skate, is $7 per person,-NO INLINE SKATES-Regular roller skates-entire floor to ourselves-music he can change upon request. There was another small group there, the place was clean, VERY old looking and not too loud. Music was moderately loud, enough for conversation if you wanted. Wasn't too cold, normal attire worked fine for me.We did a mini photo shoot with the arcade side, owner did not mind10/10 Recommend for your next random activity for a Wednesday

Cedar Hill Roller Rink is a one of a kind experience -- it is a charismatic and well preserved time capsule. Fun for the whole family. We are quickly becoming "regulars." Super Dave and staff are awesome!

Owner is extremely rude and unprofessional. Will never return. Threatened to throw my 10 year old daughter out if she ran into the wall again, after she fell against it while playing one of their games.

The place is really old but they do well to keep the rink running without bumps. I took the kids here for an event and they accommodated very well. Good for parties. And the kids had a blast. Obviously roller skating is not as popular as it was say 30+ years ago but it nice to see a place like this still around. Good place to keep the tradition of skating rings old school style still around.

We had a party here and it would of went great if wasn't for the cussing by the owner in front of my party, the rudeness towards my party, and not one bit of party interaction with music, nor activities. Very unprofessional! Statements in front of my party, by the owner such as, "what the hell, if they don't get off the floor I'm going to kick them out. Telling his employees over speaker phone, "you do what I need you to do before you help anyone else", as the father of the party was needing game coins for the birthday girl, and then some bickering at another employee in front of some of my party. I had 3 different people at my party complain about this owner who I hadn't even seen, so I was not happy during the party. Thankfully he left after a short time. I had to ask for at least the hokey pokey 10 min before my little ones party was over. There were no assistance bars for the kids, there was a short time no one was available to hand out skates, and the party room was too small, so many weren't able to join for cake. It was a mess! Wouldn't recommend for a party. Maybe for a simple walk in skate.
