It's Mexican food in Eastland tx. I mean, coming from down south it's not fair for me to assess this. Great prices, nice people, older building. Go give it a shot. It wasn't for me.

Good portions, reasonably priced. Sometimes the staff is understated but always friendly with good service. The carne adobado is worth mentioning!

My review would actually give 3.5 stars, but since we have to rate a whole star I rounded up. Cafe Rico is a local Mexican food place in Eastland. Atmosphere: Cafe Rico is located in a small building at the end of a long strip of old downtown style buildings. It consists of one large single dining area composed of a mishmash of old diner style tables and chairs and a few booths. Nice and clean. Basically your normal small town diner. 1/2 StarService: The service is what would bring me back for sure. We had 2 waitresses who visited the table regularly to make sure we had anything we might want. We never had to worry about getting low on drinks. They were also very nice to talk to. Good small town people. 2 StarsFood: The chips were quite stale, almost chewy, which didn't start us off with a good impression. The salsa on the other hand was great. Nice amount of kick but even my son liked it. We ordered queso with our chips and it was nothing special at all. Seemed like it could have been warmed from a bottle. The entrées however were quite good. Wife got the Rico Burrito which was huge. She could barely get 1/2 of it down and she thought it was great. I went à la carte and got 2 beef and bean tostadas (which were loaded with veggies just the way I like them) and a green chili cheese and onion enchilada. The green chili (I opted for the medium on this visit) was fantastic and would have been considered mild by my tastebuds. It wasn't quite as sweet as most tomatilla salsa verdes but had a nice smoky flavor. I really enjoyed it. I have to drop a star for the stale chips and "store bought" queso since those are really important to me and also set the mood for the whole meal. The entrées however were surprisingly good after the initial impression. 1 star. ------------------------My rating system:Up to 1 star for atmosphere (Let's face it, I could eat Franklin BBQ on a dirty napkin while sitting in the bed of my truck.)Up to 2 stars apiece for both food and service (these are the two things that will either drive me away or reel me back in)1 Star-Wouldn't let my dog eat here2 Star-Below average-usually something really struck me as being bad and I doubt I would ever return. 3 Star-Average-Might come back. Might not if there are better options. 4 Star-Above average-will definitely come back and try something new. Probably had great service as well. 5 Star-Phenomenal-Will definitely return for such an amazing experience.

So glad we stopped here for lunch! We both enjoyed our choices. The food was fresh and hot off the grill. Salsa was great. Added a small portion of guacamole to my meal, wished I had ordered a whole side of it!Friendly, attentive wait staff. Eat here if you get the chance.

Wanted a restaurant as we were tired of fast food on our roadtrip. Service was quick and friendly, but got two out of our 6 orders wrong. Food was bland and tasted like one step above del taco. I would not recommend this place.

Great food, fast service, wonderful staff. We eat here every chance we get! We get the fajitas most of the time, and my kids love the quesadillas, they are big with lots of fillings.

Cafe Rico has a weird environment seems to small and ackward in there food was not the best it made the family sick every time. Chips are to thin and salsa is watery to us. Service was to slow when we said we needed to hurry it up to get to an event
