"My brother, dad and I were in town for a weekend (mainly to watch the Dallas Cowboys on sunday as my dad is a diehard fan). We hopped on Google reviews and Yelp and saw that this place was HIGHLY rated with 500+ aggregate reviews on BOTH platforms so we had to check it out. We hadn't made reservations beforehand so we were slightly concerned that it would be a long wait (arrived around 8pm-ish). Luckily, this particular location is pretty big and the wait wasn't too long at all. Maybe like 10-15 min?We were seated in a booth and looking over the menu, the mexican food looked super authentic. We ordered carne asada, flautas, a grilled steak fajita salad and brisket tacos. Literally 2 minutes after ordering, fresh warm nachos arrived at the table w/ 2 salsas (a red and brown one). I love that we were able to snack on these before the food arrived. The carne asada was probably my fave. The proteins at this resto are cooked really well. We were never asked how we wanted our steak cooked but it just arrived medium rare on the plate (which is perfect). Super juicy, tender and seasoned aggressively. The refried beans were so smooth and the portion sizes were nice and big.We also ordered some of their famous frozen margaritas. Quite strong but very tasty! At the end of our meal we asked our server Ashley to pack our leftover nachos and salsas on the table in a to-go bag for us and she instead came back with a to-go bag full of FRESH, WARM NACHOS with some new salsas for us to take home. This was incredible customer service. The to-go bag also had a clip on it to keep the nachos crispy and prevent them from going stale (I was still snacking on them in the hotel room 2 days later)! All of us were eyeing the hot apple pie w/ ice cream that arrived at a neighbouring table but alas, we were way too full to stomach any dessert lol.Authentic food, amazing service and nice, strong drinks. A place that lives up to every bit of the hype! Will definitely be back in the future if I'm back in town!"
"Amazing. Our further son in law proposed to our daughter here. They were very accommodating and the service was great. He reserved a room large enough for 30 people. The food was fresh and the mimosas were free flowing. I've been here before but a very long time ago. It's great to see that they are still open and doing well. We will definitely be back."

"The food was amazing and the ingredients were fresh! The service was also top notch. I really enjoyed my brunch tostadas and would order them again if I return to Dallas."
"My husband and I were on an unexpected quick trip to Dallas a few days ago and stayed nearby this place in Deep Ellum. Such a cool neighborhood! We hoped to grab some good Tex-Mex food while in town and Pepe's & Mito's had pretty good reviews so we headed there. We had no trouble getting a table and the staff was friendly and attentive. Lucky us, we happened to be there during happy hour! I had the house margarita on the rocks while hubby had a frozen strawberry margarita. At $5 each, they were a good deal while also being strong and tasty! They brought out warm chips with good salsa while we looked over the menu. I ended up getting a "House Speciality" item - Shrimp Enchiladas, which are served with rice, beans, and salad. At $18.95, I felt they were a tad pricey. But my husband had some of mine because he only ordered a Tortilla Soup. We would come back here again, especially during Happy Hour!"
"Very solid family run business. I cannot wait to go back to try the fajitas, which smelled delicious!"
"Our server (Bill) was amazing and although we have been here before - he guided us through the menu and showed us options that we had overlooked. It really helped that he had photos of the menu items he was suggesting and most (if not all of us) changed our menu selections based on his advice. The food was delicious!! And everyone throughly enjoyed every morsel. Top tip for a tasty appetizer - order the queso and then mix in one of the spicy salsa dishes (that comes complimentary with the chips and salsa)."
"FOODCarne a la Tampiquena was alright. It was pretty salty overall and falls a lot more on the heavier side. The beef was tender and flavor was ok.Salsa is also a bit salty but also is good consistency and flavor. The chips are fresh and crispy! VIBESThe place has nice vibes with dim lighting. Seating includes booth and standard chair and table seating. It's quite spacious. Looks like most of the people here are either catching up with friends, eating with family, or going on dates.SERVICE Service was great! No complaints here!"
"Dos Arroyos is so good we went twice in one weekend. The fresh warm chips and salsa are a perfect start to the meal. The ambiance is warm and homey, making it feel like a hidden gem in a cute neighborhood in Richardson. The service is no-nonsense but efficient, and the food is an intriguing mix of classic Mexican flavors with a bit of a twist. The brisket enchiladas are outstanding, but the carne asada is even better. On our second visit, we went for brunch and were not disappointed. The breakfast quesadilla was massive and absolutely delicious. I had Agustin's enchiladas with mole sauce and steak, which were perfectly balanced. We capped it all off with churros that were the ideal sweet finish. The all-day happy hour is a huge bonus, and their house margaritas are on point. If you're in the area, Dos Arroyos is a must-visit."
"This place was everything we wanted it to be. Ma and pop all the way. Vibes were on point. We sat at the bar and the bartender was super friendly and personable. He helped us picked out some of the favs from the menu and he did not steer us wrong. The margaritas were awesome. The salsa for the chips was also great. Queso, tacos and everything was great. No notes!"
"Decent neighborhood tex-mex restaurant! We ordered chicken fajitas and the healthy plate. The chicken was perfectly cooked to be tender and juicy and had good flavor. The portions were perfect and the service was great and prompt despite coming here an hour before closing. Their salsas are tasty and they give you separate salsas per person which I liked. They also have chunk green salsa as well if you ask! We also ordered small guacamole which was sub par and they can work on the presentation. Overall, I wouldn't go out of my way to dine here but it's a solid choice for your local tex Mex dining."
"This place was highly recommended by people that we talked to while visiting Grapevine. They were right. Food was amazing and portions were big. Although it was a busy night when we visited, they were able to sit us immediately Complimentary chips and salsa was already on the table. We started with the tortilla soup with avocado. It is very flavorful. The brisket quesadilla was delicious as well. Definitely a good place to eat when craving for Mexican food."
"10/10 recommend! They do not take reservations, but it's worth the wait. They have a bar in the front so you can have drinks while you wait. Service was so speedy at the bar and once we sat at the table, everyone was very friendly and helpful! I ordered the steak nachos and they were amazing, the quality of the steak was like a filet very tender and not chewy at all! The vibe of the restaurant was more along the lines of a steak house, very cute and western! Can't wait to return! Thank you for a beautiful evening!"

We were over in the area and found ourselves starving on New Years Day. Found this place on Yelp and they were open...YAY! We have never been here before and Mexican food sounded good, so we gave it a whirl. We were seated immediately in the back bar area. It didn't appear to be very busy, but I think the restaurant is much bigger than it looks from the outside. I ordered the Adelita which comes with a good mix of items including an enchilada, flauta, rice & beans, guac and queso. All the best things on one plate! My hubby ordered the combo fajitas. Everything was SO good! The queso was very flavorful and the guac was seasoned perfectly. The enchilada had good filling and the flauta was crispy. The fajitas came with lots of fresh tortillas and they alone were very good. There was a good mix of meat and grilled peppers/onions. Oh, and the chips and salsa were also delish! The salsa was spicy, but I couldn't quit eating it!I will say, the service was very slow. We waiting a bit longer than we would have liked for refills, to go boxes, the check, ect. However, it seemed like our server was the only one working that area, and who knows how many other tables in the main dining area. He was also sweeping the floor....while 2 bartenders stood behind the bar. So I am not holding the slow service against him, because he was working his butt off. But the other 2 workers should be ashamed of themselves just watching him do all the work. I wish I remembered his name, he needs a raise!

Updated 8/10/24Food and service have been consistently excellent over many years even when valued employees are hard to find and keep. The unexpected personal touches -- like the handwritten comment on our to-go package today -- surprised and delighted us. It overcame our disappointment that the extra salad dressing we ordered was missing. And Via Real's salad dressing is exceptionally tasty.

Loved this place! My family and I went for brunch and it was very good! The service was great, very attentive! We enjoyed everything we had! We had no leftovers! The drinks were good too! The ambiance was very lively. They had a DJ and he was playing all the jams! This place is definitely a must try!

This is a hometown hero local, you can tell just by the outside of the building. It's right near the train station as well, so very easy to access. Been here for 30 years plus, so you know the love is in the building. The food was impressive. Everything here taste fresh and the waitress was accommodating. Authentic!!!

Stopped in for a late lunch and didn't disappoint. Brisket two ways--taco and enchilada. The brisket with queso was amazing. Shared a flan which has the best CarmelSauce.

Started with chips and a variety of salsas- all of which were good. We had 2 spinach enchiladas (**** $15.00) with a very small amount of sour cream and cheese. These were served with tasty, refried beans and rice. We also tried the Tacos De Veggies (**** $16.75) - corn tortillas filled with veggies and cilantro sauce. Served with rice, beans, chipotle sauce, fresh avocado slices and Pico. Iced tea was above average. The service, from being seated, to the wait staff was excellent. I like the atmosphere as well- with it's section for sports and another slightly separate area for dining. This was our second time at Maria Cuca's, and we enjoy going there when in the area.

I'd come here for dinner before and just realized I hadn't left a review. This place is still delicious! The only downfall is that it's so good it gets pretty packed on a Saturday evening and the parking can be tricky. The flavors are very bold and authentic with a nice twist to them. They definitely reminded me of a home cooked meal! Being Mexican, I'm very critical of any place that says they offer Mexican cuisine and this place really brought their best to the table! From the street corn, guacamole, queso, and chips appetizers to the caldo, carne asada tacos, rice and quesadillas, that I tasted, everything was very flavorful! The atmosphere was very lively and family friendly. There was mostly large groups both times I've been but there were tables that seemed to accommodate for a date or small family. The decor is a rustic feel and adds to the rustic Mexican vibe. Overall, both times I've eaten here I've really enjoyed the food and the service. Give them a try if your looking for something pretty close to authentic Mexican flavors. I think your palate will thank you for it.

"I was visiting a friend in Dallas and decided to try some Tex-Mex cuisine while I was out there. I would say the food pricing is on the higher side ($20-30 per entree), but the serving sizes were large, so I wasn't too upset. I tried the brisket tacos and I unfortunately thought the meat was pretty dry. It was okay with the avocado and salsa, but the sides of beans and rice were also pretty lackluster. Definitely wouldn't come back for a meal. Here's what I did like though: the service was incredibly attentive and friendly, plus we constantly had a basket of chips at the table. That's honestly what kept this review from dropping to 2 stars. Their complimentary salsas were solid and the queso was actually incredibly delicious. The drinks here are boozy and they claim to be the inventors of the frozen marg. I did try the Frozen Strawberry Mango and it was sweet, but strong aka dangerous. Overall, I would recommend coming here with a group during happy hour and enjoying the nachos to share."
"Great environment and service. Waiter was very nice and attentive- the best queso and pico and salsa I have ever had in my life! I think the meat in the queso with the pico was the best part of dinner. Totally enjoyed it- great price and felt very welcome"
"What an awesome 5-star evening our group had on a recent Saturday evening. For group dining, Los Jimadores has a wonderful private dining room that is very spacious and can accommodate a large group.Upon arrival we were greeted warmly and escorted to our dining room. Our servers immediately started taking drink and appetizer orders for our group. Hot baskets of chips, salsa and a wonderful bear dip were placed strategically around our tables. Chips were filled frequently so we never lacked for anything. By the way, the chips were fried to perfection with no greasy feel to them. I loved their salsa and the After our group got settled in with drinks and munchies, our servers, with military precision, to take our orders in an "orderly" way. My wife loves quesadillas, so she ordered a half of chicken quesadillas, perfect portion for her, and I ordered the La Bandera Platter, I was hungry. It consisted of a cheese enchilada topped with green sauce, chicken enchilada topped with sour cream sauce and a beef enchilada topped with chile con carne sauce. The three enchiladas were served with rice and beans. I probably ordered too much, but oh well, the platter sounded so good. After a short wait, a barrage of servers converged on private room with all of our entrees. It was amazing, each entree was delivered efficiently to the correct individual. Margaritas were refreshed, we were all ready to dig in. My wife loved her chicken quesadillas. My La Bandera platter was SO delicious, the three types of enchiladas each stood on their own deliciousness. I loved the variety of the enchiladas. Los Jimadores rice and bean which accompanied the enchiladas were so flavorful.I ended our wonderful gathering by trying Las Jimadores' flan. Oh my goodness it was one of the most awesome flans I've had in a very long time. My wife and I can't wait to return on our own to explore more items on the menu, plus try a flight of tequilas. Thank you Los Jimadores for a wonderful experience."
"I went here for the first time last night. The space is open and airy. We were sat quickly. Menu looked so good. It was hard to order. I got the queso sand quesadillas. Delicious!! The food was brought to our table very quickly. Our server could not have been nicer. This is a great neighborhood spot. Will be back with friends!!"
"The "hot sauce" is to die for!!!! Absolutely love their soft cheese tacos Always pick up an extra jar of their hot sauce to go"
"Fun place to watch the Rangers vs Astro game with delicious food. Started with the guacamole, chips and queso dip. Perfect with the margarita and beers we were drinking. Then, hubby and I split the grilled portobello mushroom and onion fajita which came out sizzling and our friendly, attentive waiter, Javier, gave us extra assorted warmed tortillas (nice touch). Most tasty, although would have like a couple more mushrooms with the many, many onions. Our friend had Mama's chicken and cheese tacos which looked delicious and our friend agreed they were. We'll be back in the area early next year and look forward to returning here."
"Holy moly. I'm not Mexican but I'm gonna say this is the best Mexican I've had. Super fresh. Can't lose with any item on the menu. So far, I've loved seafood tacos, all the soups, taco salad, seafood appetizer dip... Plan to try lots more. Love the enclosed patio. Ask for Kiko!!!"
"We were visiting TX from FL and had a very early flight home so decided to stay in Dallas the night before. We were having dinner with friends in Richardson and while looking at places to eat the food sounded great. Our friends had never eaten here, so we decided to try it. We were warmly greeted and seated immediately. The waiter took drink orders and brought chips immediately. Their salsa and another dip they served were excellent. When looking at reviews I noticed that if you check in, you also received a free queso. The menu has a great selection and the food was exceptional. The presentation and quality were top notch Tex-Mex. The margaritas were fabulous and the only negative was they couldn't make mojitos--which were on the menu. Our waiter couldn't explain why, but the house sangria hit the spot. It's easy access and has plenty of parking. Definitely something to try if you live in the area and haven't or are visiting."
"Amazing Food and Even Better Service!Joe Leo's is incredible, and Michael was hands-down the BEST server I've ever met. He was on top of everything--before we even had to ask, he'd be there with refills, more chips, or just checking in to make sure we were all set. He went way above and beyond, even giving us complimentary sopapillas since it was our first time there. Such a great experience! The food was amazing--piping hot, delicious, and we were seated and served super quickly. On top of all that, I accidentally left my purse behind, and the staff ran after me to return it before I even realized it was missing.I can't recommend this place enough. We'll definitely be back!"
"Y'all are missing out if you haven't tried the Quesabirria Harina tacos. Absolutely delicious flour tortillas stuffed with birria meat and melted cheese! Didn't even dip them in the consommé cuz the green salsa that comes with is fire, spicy and flavored with a kick. The rice and beans were good but the tacos steal the show. We started off with the appetizer sampler which was also good, starting with the quesadilla being #1, especially when dipped into the queso, yummy! Nachos were tasty and loaded with meat, served individually which I'm not used to but was delicious. The chicken flautas were also tasty but a bit over cooked tonight. I'd say overall a delicious Taco Tuesday and I'm sure we'll be back!!"
"We tried Anasofia's for dinner, and we loved the food. The ambiance was also perfect, and the service was good, though it was difficult for us to communicate what we wanted in English and understand the lady serving us as she was talking mainly in Spanish. Regardless, we got exactly what we ordered. We were a group of 6 and ordered vegetarian and non-vegetarian items on the menu; every item was good. They have delicious margaritas as well. Since I am a vegetarian, I will write about what I tried specifically. For starters, we had the chips & salsa. I had Chili Relleno ( vegetarian version with no meat or beef) for the main course, and it was super yummy! We will be back to this place. It is a must-try!"
"We're fans!!! Okay the presentation of the food is impressive to start! The salad is a whole meal all by itself with the freshest of ingredients! My fajitas came out sizzling and mom's enchiladas look mouth-watering. She immediately took a bite and said, "Oh yes! This is good!" The salsa chips are cooked fresh and nice and salty. The salsa has a kick to it with a lot of lime taste! I had coffee because we're vacationing while I'm on set filming and it was really good! My cream has its own cup! You won't be disappointed! When you walk up, you feel like you're entering a really expensive restaurant! It's not!! You'll thank me, so "You're welcome" in advance!!! Oh, we had to try the tres leches cake! It's soo goood!!!"
"I really like the ambiance of the place, and they've done a great job with decor. It's cool they used a couple of old guns as the doorhandles for the front doors and then they have a big sitting area with large leather couches. The staff were super helpful and kept the drinks filled and checked in occasionally, and how good the food was. The food itself didn't really strike me as amazing, honestly just average for a good Mexican restaurant, thus the four star rating.I am from out of town, here, visiting one of my kids, so I don't know if I'll make it back anytime soon, but it was pretty good"
"I was invited to a going away party on Saturday night and there was about 15 of us attending. The server assigned to our table was taking drink orders as we sat down. My jalapeño margarita was delicious and I was pleasantly surprised to see lots of fresh sliced peppers floating around. My shredded chicken enchiladas with sour cream sauce and fresh jalapeños were yummy. Food runners helped the server to accommodate all of our meals."
"Great food, wonderful atmosphere, exceptional service. They have a very nice patio for outdoor seating. The outdoor patio has a nice, very relaxing view of the golf course. Our family enjoyed such a very pleasant Christmas dinner here many times. The food has been delicious, and the utmost quality. I'll include a golf course photo. It's not from the Mesero restaurant, but it's satisfying anyway!"
"El Primo's Mexican Grill & Cantina serves up authentic Mexican cuisine with a modern twist in a fun, vibrant setting. Known for their house-made margaritas and Tex-Mex favorites, it's the kind of spot where you can settle in for a casual lunch or a lively evening with friends.I stopped by on a Monday afternoon around 2 PM for lunch, and the restaurant was pretty quiet. We were seated in their massive covered patio area, which was nice and airy, though the quiet vibe meant there was no problem grabbing a table.I ordered the Pecan Chicken Flautas, which were a standout. They take chicken, chopped pecans, and cheese, roll it up in a corn tortilla, deep fry it, and top it with a tequila-lime slaw, queso fresco, and Mexican crema. Mine came with a side of queso, cilantro lime rice, and refried beans, making it the perfect hearty lunch. I loved that they give you the option to turn what's usually an appetizer into a full meal--it was flavorful and super crunchy. To pair with my meal, I had the Blue Champagne cocktail, which is an upside-down margarita served with a Prosecco split. It's as fun and festive as it sounds, and a great way to kick off pre-gaming before the upcoming Cowboys game I was heading to that night.Service was the only hiccup. Despite the restaurant being pretty quiet (only one other table in our section), service was surprisingly slow. Not a dealbreaker by any means, but something to keep in mind.Overall, El Primo's delivered great food and drinks in a laid-back atmosphere. I'd definitely come back to try more of their menu, but maybe when I'm not in a rush."
"We have been here twice. I like the location and its fun little patio. Food is more Mexican authentic than other places."
"It was recommended to get a reservation but, as a party of 1, their system wouldn't let me. Not to worry because I was there for an early dinner before a Stars game and able to get a seat at the bar with no problems. I started with their complimentary salsa flight and a house margarita and then went with a nacho appetizer for my meal with a trio of hot sauces. The food was delicious and I'd recommend coming for sure based on that. Service and ambiance was a miss for me though while sitting at the bar. They have traditional bar seating and then seats around a "bar" which reminds me more of sitting at a diner like Waffle House. I'll just say the seating was awkward because the workers congregate there to pick up food from the kitchen and watch over their tables. While my server was quick, he never once smiled and it was obvious that he couldn't wait to get me out of there (this wasn't due to trying to free up a seat either as there were plenty). I would have stuck around for another drink but instead headed out to another spot after finishing my meal."
"Taco lunch plate was absolutely delicious and I will definitely be back! Steak taco was seasoned perfectly and the.chicken tacos were spectacular'"
"Always great. Got the enchilada combo and black beans. The combo allows you to mix and match enchiladas. Everyone has an option. Ms Particular got the cheeseburger which she says is one of the best. If tables are full, definitely consider eating at the bar. Service is great. Thanks Daniel for always great service."
"Delicious tacos . Very creative with such unique ingredients. We stoped here after flying in to DFW. Great stop. The Margarita was small compared to a the ones in Florida but very tasty. We also picked up a few breakfast burritos as well for us all tomorrow at the Air B&B. Order at the counter and they deliver it to your table. Fun place."
"This place is really cool. Two totally separate feelings of this restaurant since there is a solid divide between the restaurant and the bar. I have never been seated in the restaurant part, but you have to pass through it to go to the restrooms. It's bright, quiet and very restauranty. The bar area is the opposite. Dark, colorful with all of the music artist portraits, loud and also cozy. Could easily spend a while here watching sports. We have always sat on the bar side. They have several tables and of course bar seating. The chips are those thin greasy type that are so good and the salsa is tasty and not too hot. The cheese enchiladas are always my go to and they are cooked perfect as in the cheese is just melty enough.Prices are pretty average for the area, and service has always been quick and friendly.Any time I have a cheese enchilada craving this will be my spot."
"Go for the food and stay for the vibe.Bartender Joey is the best! He will make any drink you ask. Best carnita tacos!"
